While waiting at the children’s hospital with my DS (when he was little) the tiniest, cutest little girl of about four was waiting near us. She was adorable, wearing little red dungarees, had brown hair in two high bunches, freckles on her nose and beautiful long eyelashes. The nurse called her and her name was Katy Buttons. I almost cried.

Poorly baby in the next 'window' to my ds at hospital.. Dm proudly told me she was Gloria - Victoria... She was fully kitted out in huge party frock with the socks +big bows....

In a previous job, many years ago we used to employ a Canadian consultant and SHE was called Kevin Mcgarrigle Schlosser. Lovely woman but given how bad I am at remembering names, I've never forgotten hers.

My childhood neighbour was P Green, and I went to school with someone whose cousin was called Gordon Bennett.

When I worked in a bank, one customer would sometimes ring up and give his name as "I'm A Fish". Another customer was WH Smith. 'Any relation?' we asked, and he said yes!

Best of all though was my relative's school chum, Mary Christmas.

Tabitha Twitchett, actual person from my hometown, not a Beatrix Potter character.
