God she's awful. Haven't watched for a long time but just turned it on and caught her interviewing the lovely Adele Roberts. Thought it was a good interview until the very end when she's given a birthday cake and Lorraine says 'and you can eat all of that cake, you're so tiny, you need to eat'

Fuck me! Adeles in recovery from bowel cancer, has a stoma. As an IBD patient it boils my blood when people think its OK to comment on my weight. Imagine Lorraine saying to someone 'you can't eat that cake, you're so big, you need to stop eating'.

It's reminded me why I don't watch her.

I don’t know about Lorraine specifically, but I have a friend who works in TV as a booker and he says that there is a huge drive to have older women on TV - the unspoken rule in his particular line of work (can’t say where he works as too outing) is you can forget anyone under 45. Two thirds of guests have to be female and virtually all are 50+.

It’s not hard to see why they can’t pull a show with a 64 year-old female presenter off the air too easily.

Rumour has it she may be heading into the CBB house after Gary Goldsmith pulled out. I frigging hope not 🤦‍♀️😬

People may not like her. But I dislike even more the hair trigger, taking – offence pile-ons at these trivial comments towards every person in the media. It’s so tiresome and part of the anti-liberal “gotcha mentality“. It’s so censorious. I’m surprised anyone opens their mouth anymore.

I actually think the fact they're in the media, is exactly why it is acceptable to complain. They are supposed to be role models, and making ignorant comments is not to be tolerated. Millions of people watch them, they need to be careful what they advocate.
There are certain things that should not be condoned, such as the comment LK made. If a similar comment was made to Joe Blogs in a workplace, it would have a high chance of being reported by the recipient I'm sure. Why should LK get away with it in her job? Just because she is famous??

I find everything about her annoying - surprised to see she has the same effect on so many on here as I was feeling I was unkind and in the minority. Still good luck to her - it seems she has a lovely life. 🌹

I picked up on this. Not only is Adele recovering from bowel cancer but she was quite overweight in the past and has spoken publicly about her issues with food. Totally inappropriate.

Tend to have Lorraine on in the background WFH and with so many of the guests it's clear she has done little to no research - I've cringed quite a few times listening to her "interviews".

Talk about getting the face you deserve, she’s starting to look as bitter as she acts.

She's a real horror.

She talks over people.. Answers their questions.. she's not very bright.. puts her foot in it... doesn't think before she speaks..annoying.

She always reminds me of Mrs Doubtfire with her overly Scottish accent and I say that as a Scot myself. None of us sound like that!

Can't stand her. It's never acceptable to comment on anyones weight or image, even worse when there may be medical reasons.

Yes, I find her rude and silly and just generally inauthentic. It's a shame, I welcome older presenters as for a long while there was hardly any, but they still need to be good at their job and respectful of those they interview. Time for a change, I think.

I really don't like her. I remember recently when she was interviewing Anne Reid, and Anne said she didn't want to say her age, and then at the end of the interview Lorraine says, 'I promised not to say your age, but in bingo it's two fat ladies.'
