So sad to hear this news. We've been enjoying the new series and really hoped he was getting better. Poor Si will miss him so much.

This is truly awful. I love their programmes and I don’t even like cooking but loved the chat.

I watched his show where he spoke about his cancer and thought how well he did it. As someone with cancer myself I am fed up with the way we are spoken about as brave/tragic. We are just normal people going through crap. That’s it.
I thought he had turned a corner too but with this shitty disease and toll the treatments can take you can never be sure.
Just so sad. What a loss.

Oh no I thought he was better because they’d made the new series. Si King’s statement made me well up. Rest in peace x

I absolutely love Si and Dave and I am genuinely gutted. RIP Dave.

I loved watching them together. I had a feeling recently as Kingy seemed so protective of him. He knew he was dying.

Very sad news. I always thought their shows were so joyful and their friendship was lovely, such lovely chaps. Big lump in my throat reading Si's statement, it must be heartbreaking for him.

Like others I was really hoping he was on the mend. Seemed like a kind, gentle man and funny too (goes for both of them). RIP Dave.

Oh, this is really sad. Like others, I had assumed that because he had started to return to television recently he was making a recovery. I know a few people who met him and he was never anything but warm and lovely. He had such a hard start in life as a child carer but always emphasised that, despite the hardship, he grew up loved and cared for.

So sad - alos thought he had turned a corner and was on the mend.

Incredibly sad news. We adore the TV series and have all the books, such joyful feel good tv and the most delicious food. Feel so sad for his family and friends, especially Si.
