Putting washing on the line in the sun

I apologise if this is a niche pleasure - but does anyone else get a huge pleasure from seeing big sheets on the washing line in the sun?

Maybe it's a childhood thing.

And more as it seems to only be uploading them 2 at a time. Let's see if I can do more!

Edit: Did it!

It was wonderful!

They all said how kind I was doing it, and I was trying to say no I enjoyed it!

I've currently got the whites on from the winter show, but it's a much smaller cast so not as impressive.

It's dry, sunny and windy here today. The holy trinity of washing drying! I have towels and bedding on the line!

artant · 06/01/2025 13:36

Grey, damp and pretty still here. But the heating is on so yesterday’s washing is only still on the clothes horse because I am too lazy to fold it up.

TheNuthatch · 24/01/2025 15:35

I'm loving storm Eowyn! 4 sets of bedding line dried today. Sunny and blow-yer-head off wind here. Perfect 👌

InMySpareTime · 24/01/2025 15:45

I got a load of jumpers dry on the line, faster than they would have taken in the tumble dryer.
It's warm, dry, sunny and windy. Perfect drying weather here.
We're out of the main storm though, it's proper feisty in Ireland and Scotland!

NoWordForFluffy · 24/01/2025 16:54

We didn't dare put ours out as we thought it would end up elsewhere (amber zone on NW coast!). It's going out overnight as it drops to 30-40mph then. 70mph is even too windy for me to put it out. 🤣

Wimp 🤣🤣

NoWordForFluffy · 24/01/2025 17:04

🤣🤣🤣

I don't have enough clothes to risk them buggering off to Scotland without me!

MrsMitford3 · 24/01/2025 17:09

I am so jealous of anyone who has managed to hang anything out-
it is windy today but still feels like I am living in a low lying cloud.

Pining for a day of sunshine...

InMySpareTime · 24/01/2025 17:14

I only dared use the short line, it was a bit gusty to put the prop up for the high line.

We've had loads of fog / mist recently. Cleared today though!

TheNuthatch · 24/01/2025 17:24

My small fixed line that I use in winter is out of action as DH got bored over Xmas and dug up half of the garden 🤬.
I had to use my massive rotary line. It was fully loaded with sheets and we are also NW amber zone. I thought the whole thing might take off at one point lol.

NoWordForFluffy · 24/01/2025 17:25

I'm amazed it didn't. Loads of houses lost roof tiles on my road (not us yet thank god)!

TheNuthatch · 24/01/2025 17:26

Yes I bet it was bad near the coast. I hope you don't suffer any damage. We've been lucky, just a tipped over bin.

Lifebeganat50 · 24/01/2025 18:27

The pegs to hold washing on the line where I am today haven’t been invented 🤣

Daleksatemyshed · 24/01/2025 18:36

Sadly our rotary washing line died late last year, we've got a replacement but it's been so wet it's not worth putting the new one in just yet. Very jealous that some of you have been line drying 😂

WingBingo · 25/01/2025 14:55

10 degrees and a good breeze today so an opportunity not to be missed, line dried bedded. Heaven.

2 loads dried outside today in the Midlands.

Hanging out and fetching in washing is my favourite chore

NoWordForFluffy · 25/01/2025 15:55

We dried a load overnight and have two more loads on the line! The wind has dropped a bit for now, however.

mum2jakie · 25/01/2025 16:09

Me too! Two loads done today with the last of them still out making the most of the winds!

Pedallleur · 25/01/2025 17:40

Sports kit out today. A lot of it and it's dried!! Will try for the whites tomorrow. Sadly the towels went in the dryer.

Can’t beat proper greenie poles! I love mine
