If the messages are genuine then they are midlife crisis-bored husband and dad-type embarrassing.
He shouldn't have put his wife and family in this position.
Clearly no matter the achievements, money and prestige, some men always want a thrill and do stupid things at the expense of those they should cherish and respect (or maybe these things go hand in hand...). He's not the first or the last.
I think he comes across as a person who can be ruthless, competitive, dominant and who likes things his way. I actually don't dislike him, I respect the work he's put in to be where he is and into his teams. I'm not a huge fan of GH, but it's pretty obvious she has moulded herself to become what he likes and to fit in and now he's done this and embarrassed her and their family, it must feel like a slap in the face.
She'd be best off becoming more independent and free-spirited in terms of her looks and activities. She sure can afford it and she needs to refocus and find her own identity again. She shouldn't be making sacrifices for a man who will do whatever he wants anyway. Maybe it's going to be a wake up call for her.
OTOH somebody has a major vendetta against them, it's unbelievable the amount of shit stirring in the press about them, what CH did, their marriage. It's so blown out of proportion it's blatant somebody is on a mission to oust him out of the job and/or ruin his personal life to get him to resign, as a plan B. He did something stupid, but I feel sorry for them, it's so obvious what is happening here.
