Exactly what DS and I said after reading them. I think it also depends on how old the female employee is. If she is ten or even twenty years younger than him then it’s all a bit cringe but if she’s younger than 30 then it seems more coercive. Regardless of her age, the things I’ve read don’t appear to show her wanting to have any kind of relationship with him - unless he has a stash of other messages that show her in a bad light? DS is thinking this will be the case and later today we’ll have the ‘Rebecca Vardy’ moment.

If it was not so expensive to attend a Formula 1 race I would expect some form of protest or other way of calling out Mr Horner's behaviour. I'm not 100% convinced he has acted honourably.

I doubt he is innocent.
It isn’t a surprise he was found not guilty it’s hardly groundbreaking that a sexual predator gets away with it.
Every single person can name a sex predator who has gotten away with it.
I have zero interest in him or Geri Helliwell.
I only know about the case as the radio was on when I was driving.

The leaked messages and photos (apart from one)are very tame. Surely if they were fake then they’d be a bit raunchier. He sounds like a creepy boss, coming onto his PA, and she doesn’t want to piss him off and get sacked.

The messages are so puerile and unsexy. They sound like a pathetic man constantly badgering a junior employee for sexual engagement and she's stuck in the difficult position of being completely unenthused but not wanting to piss him off. Creep.

Having seen the Google Drive, Horner is screwed.

I shared your doubts even before the messages leaked. F1 is a very male dominated sport - it’s no surprise they closed ranks

Im surprised if they are published because they could be fakes. Anyone would publish a photo of an exchange that is supposed to be from me.

Those messsages 100% read like a multi millionaire top boss of the top team in a closed industry is harrassing an employee while she tries to turn him down without pissing him off, losing her job and being fundamentally unable to work in that industry again.

It is an abuse of power. Whether or not Horner recognises it as such.

The fact that he is denying it is a shit show. He SHOULD be apologising and taking this time to reflect upon the way he uses his power and how that makes others feel. He won't, of course.

But then, the Red Bull team was already associated with thugs and racists. Not a great surprirse to find out there are sexual bullies in there too.

The full evidence pack was sent (leaked) to every single Team Princple, F1 journalist, owner etc in the sport. All at the same time by someone with enough knowledge to have all their contact details.

That's not someone in a bedroom faking a few exchanges. That is the full evidence pack - only some of which has leaked as most journalists are currently refusing to share (understanably) but almost all senior F1 journalists are confirming it has been received and it's a lot of data. Some appear to also be confirming the leaks onto Twitter reflect what they have been sent.

That's real girl power in action. Not the surrendered wife that used to be Ginger Spice.

So is Horner going to carry on regardless or take some time off to try and rescue his marriage? I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s more than one woman who has received sexually coercive messages from him.

half of it is innocuous shit. Some selfies of him looking into his phone, the rest is absolutely harrassment, she repeatedly tells him to stop, it does read to me like there was once maybe a fairly intimate relationship and she calls a halt to it, but he doesn’t stop.

i cannot see the messages are fake, nor are they claiming they are. It would take an extra ordinary effort.

the question for me, is how the hell was he cleared. Or red bull saying it’s a personal matter. It’s obviously not, and it’s obvious what her role in the team is.

To be fair it’s not really like that. It reads to me like maybe it was initially consensual , whatever it was, and she put a stop to it, when he said he was happily married, and he didn’t stop.

Yes, I agree, very difficult and an extraordinary effort for this to be fake, not least due to the selfies, or the mundane work info in it.

Agree with a PP, whatever CH might claim later today, these messages are unlikely to be fake, as many of them are very banal. A faker would surely have made them more salacious?

At the moment it is all speculation but F1 Red Bull have not issued a statement saying these messages are fake, perhaps they are hoping it will just fade away…

There’s no way his creepiness wasn’t known before, but he’s lost the protection of Dietrich Mateschitz and is now a pawn in the fight for control over RBR.

Hope he feels like shit wondering constantly what his bosses are going to do and at what point they’re going to get rid of him, just as he has clearly made staff members feel!
