I haven't the foggiest what's going on with her

bradpittsbathwater · 27/03/2024 22:55

She looks literally on fire most of the time. So sunburnt constantly

pitsoffashion · 27/03/2024 23:56

It’s sad watching old clips of interviews of when she was younger, it’s like ‘where has that person gone??’ Same with other former stars like Amanda Bynes

hollyblueivy · 28/03/2024 07:31

It's like her mind is stuck on 20 years ago and she's acting it out on a constant loop of dancing in front of the camera.

She was trained to sexualise herself to sell and it seems this has stuck too.

Very sad to see and feels a bit bad watching her feed.

I really don't know what is needed to help her. I don't think she sees her sons anymore as they don't like what she puts on instagram. (No doubt more than that but there was something about this in the media)

Are you one of the free Britney brigade, do you not look at her posts and feel regret? You actually think she’s any freer now? Seriously?

It’s hard to take this comment seriously - Britney is clearly seriously mentally ill. Do we imprison all mentally ill adults in their homes? No, because even very sick people have human rights and are deserving of respectful treatment. It’s not home imprisonment vs complete freedom as if there was nothing in between - there are many different levels of care and treatment available for severe mental illness that do not involve house arrest.

Well not all no. Surely you understand that many mentally ill people are sectioned or kept long term in hospitals , and nearly always against their will as they don’t understand. How can you not know this?

so I assume yeah, you’re a free Britney one. And even though you can see her publicly unravelling. You’re A OK with it.

Mirabai · 28/03/2024 14:27

It’s because I know how mental health provision works that I cba to have a discussion at this level.

Hardly anyone meets that bar now. Not in the UK and I assume not in the US, judging by footage I've seen of addicts lying pissing themselves in the streets in their tent encampments.

About 50 thousand folks a year are detained in the uk , about 5000 sectioned and there is 18000 beds all full. So yes a small percentage of the population, but far from hardly anyone.

Mirabai · 28/03/2024 16:55

~ 50k are sectioned annually in the U.K. most are under section 2 which is an initial assessment and up to 28 days in hospital. 9000 are detained under section 3 - which is up to 6 months - but half of those are discharged on a CTO (community treatment order).

It’s still hardly anyone; I’m unsure why you’re arguing, it is indisputable that many people are long term mental health facilities, denying it does them a disservice,

Mirabai · 28/03/2024 17:45

Because what you wrote wasn’t accurate. 4500 people pa detained for 6 months or more is not “many” in a population of 60 million. And this is not relevant to Britney. If she was an NHS patient she’d be managed in the community like many others with serious mental illness. As she has shit tons of money so her condition is managed by private doctors and carers.

Josette77 · 29/03/2024 02:07

I feel awful for her children.

She is clearly unwell but it's up to her to use all of her resources to recover.

My bio mom never has either and all of her kids were removed. She has bipolar and addiction issues.

Britney has had more responsibilities and pressure on her than most at a young age, but she also has more resources than most will ever have.

She has two boys who need her.

Zonder · 29/03/2024 08:58

What happened with her children? Do they live with her? They must be mid teens now?

The father brought them up.

She slags the father and the boys off on Instagram a lot. How she begrudges paying for them.
Which is nice.

SalmonEile · 29/03/2024 10:00

The boys live in Hawaii now with their father, step mother and some younger siblings , some people allege this was a calculated move because child support is paid longer in the state of Hawaii.
I think they are 17 and 18
The younger boy took part in a tv special a couple of years ago and spoke a bit about Britney.

Whatevers happened between them all it can’t be easy for them
