It’s sad that no one is helping her. She’s obviously needs it.

SomeCatFromJapan · 18/02/2024 21:39

Honestly no. You need to use google. I fell down a rabbit hole on it about a year ago, but no way am I going back and finding sources for you, like who does that, 😂

The person making the assertion should provide their sources. Otherwise anyone could make any old shite up and proclaim it as factual.

OneFrenchEgg · 18/02/2024 21:39

@Lampslights well that's fine but then I will treat every assertion with a degree of 'might not be true' - I've found sources saying Britney's lawyers are looking at legal action against Jamie, that there is an exit plan for the conservatorship whereas you have asserted she has ongoing health conservatorship; juvenile dementia; family care, none of which are proven anywhere. So, who does that? People who want to be believed.

Dymaxion · 18/02/2024 21:41

She’s not well , she lacks capacity, it’s not a choice she is making . She can’t get better. Her condition can only be managed with medication. Recovery isn’t an option, her lawyer confirmed it. Britney cannot recover, what she has is incurable.

@Lampslights and yet you cannot name the type of dementia or other neurological conditions that you say she has been diagnosed with which you say her lawyer confirmed ? What does strike me as odd is your absolute insistence that what she has been diagnosed with has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with anything that she has been through since becoming a child star. Its all entirely organic ?

Dymaxion · 18/02/2024 21:42

Has anyone else mentioned the F word ?

Dymaxion · 18/02/2024 21:45

Fentanyl is and has been a major problem in the States for many years, I do wonder if she has succumbed to its toxic grip. People who dance and sing often find themselves plagued with injury and chronic pain, fentanyl has been the go to drug of choice for those artists and we have seen various artists sad demise as a result.

RomeoMcFlourish · 18/02/2024 21:51

I was looking at her IG again - has something happened to her teeth recently? Veneers removed? They look different.

Dymaxion · 18/02/2024 21:55

And of course Benzo addiction which can morph into a neurological condition.

OoohLovelySlippers · 18/02/2024 21:59

Yes Fentanyl has become a big problem in the USA over the past few years. It's so so incredibly potent an opioid and very very easy to overdose. Other drugs are often cut with it but some people take it by itself.

I always assumed it was "uppers" (eg cocaine) she was taking as it would explain the manic behaviour. Rather than "downers" like opiates. But it's possible she takes downers to self-medicate. Or maybe a combo of things, which is extremely deadly (Heath Ledger/River Phoenix)

AIstolemylunch · 18/02/2024 19:38

Yes, and now she's 42 or 43 and posting insane IG videos.

I don't understand your point? If she has multiple underlying issues including trauma, substance abuse and possibly a structural brain condition, why on earth wouldn't you expect her to have severe mental illness by the time she was in her forties?

Mirabai · 18/02/2024 22:06

Combination of mental illness and substance abuse is common.

I don’t know how she would have got drugs under the conservatorship though, that was rather the point of it - a kind of house arrest. It would also have been difficult to take hard drugs while she was touring.

Dymaxion · 18/02/2024 22:08

It would also have been difficult to take hard drugs while she was touring.

Would it though ?

WhatWhereWho · 18/02/2024 22:18

MyopicBunny · 18/02/2024 19:37

I don't think anyone is enjoying it - what a weird thing to assume.

The OP is enjoying the 'show' she's intrigued by it. She, and people like that, treat these kind of situations as a form of entertainment.

I don’t mean in terms of opportunity, which would be myriad, but in terms of her stage performances - they’re quite full on and hard to do off your face. It’s not like Janis Joplin shambling onstage.

Lampslights · 19/02/2024 06:55

I think this is uncalled for and rude. Many people are intrigued or dismayed by what’s happening to Britney. Doesn’t mean they see it as a form of entertainment. It’s very rare someone becomes successful young and then is sadly taken over by a condition that Impacts young adults.

for the posters commenting, honestly beleive what uou want, it’s a discussion forum, I’m not doing a dissertation, I fell down a rabbit hole at the time of the court case, and am certainly not going back looking for sources, I genuinely do not care enough of posters beleive it or not.

theres a story that her dancers … or the Audience of a show were smoking weed and she was panicked because if her handlers smelled weed on her she’d be denied contact with her sons … I’m gonna go look it up.

Shitlord · 19/02/2024 08:35

Lampslights · 18/02/2024 16:23

This is so untrue, just a completely bonkers take, even if you’re confused with elderly people.

No, it isn't bonkers. Her presentation doesnt fit with early onset dementia at the stage it would be if diagnosed at the start of her conservatorship. There is something else happening.

MyopicBunny · 19/02/2024 10:35

Most celebrities take drugs. I think it's naive to think otherwise. They have too much money and problems.

Mummyofbananas · 19/02/2024 11:43

Letsseewhattomorrowbrings · 18/02/2024 18:53

@Mummyofbananas What made you think she’s possibly autistic from earlier interviews? I‘m just curious as I wondered similar

She reminds me a lot of my friend who’s autistic- the way she answers questions and reacts, especially if she’s not comfortable. It’s not possible to say of course because trauma can present similar but I certainly wouldn’t be surprised if she was.

OoohLovelySlippers · 19/02/2024 17:45

If she's autistic then she certainly masked it well during her early years. As I mentioned upthread, one of the most depressing things is how very natural, engaging, sociable, open etc she was during interviews from 1999 to about 2005. Massive contrast to her behaviour now which I think is simply drug and mental illness induced.

The odd thing IMHO is how little she SEEMS to be into alcohol. She sort of implies that she has the occasional tipple and that she isn't actually into it. But they made her go to AA and a judge specifically referenced her alcohol use.

IMHO Britney has a very loose relationship with the truth. Whether she's a purposeful liar or just lives on a different planet due to cognitive issues.

Smugglerstop · 19/02/2024 18:16

I'm not on IG can you put the vid on here or have I missed it and you have?

SteamingTangerine · 19/02/2024 18:23

@Smugglerstop it's not just one video. You don't need to be on instagram, just google Britney Spears instagram and you will be able to see her videos.

GlassOfWhine · 19/02/2024 18:41

I feel sad for her.

It looks like she needs a constant supply of sexual admiration and attention, probably because she was taught at a young age that being sexy kept her safe from the adults that were exploiting her in the entertainment industry. So now, being sexually provocative is a survival language for her. We could all dance around in front of a mirror for the joy of it. It’s the relentless filming and sharing of it on social media that makes me feel like this is the only way she feels she has any value.

I find her IG uncomfortable to watch. It’s like watching the consequences of entertainment industry abuse play out in slow motion in front of us whilst people cheer on.

HairyToity · 19/02/2024 19:44

I also think she has autism and being high profile with a messed up family on top of the autism is going to play havoc on mental health. She could also have a drug problem. It's very sad.
