Has anything you usually buy recently just disappeared from shops?

I cannot find 'cook at home' poppadums anywhere. Used to be in most supermarkets. I used to buy them all the time. I go to my local Indian shop for them sometimes but they've usually only got flavours I don't favour. The ready made ones aren't as nice and are usually in a load of plastic non-recylcable packaging which doesn't please me either.

I don't mean products that have been discontinued a long time ago, more so things that still exist but you just can't buy anywhere from recently!

Own brand coffee creamer is another one. Don't use it myself but I've heard people at work saying this often.

George Lewis does a very funny skit about the PG Tips pyramid teabags, I can't link from tiktok or insta but I'm sure the algorithm will do it's thing.

GrowThroughWhatYouGoThrough · 15/02/2024 22:39

@Jk987 they've discontinued them and they are now square and apparently take less brewing time! 🙄

Black magic chocolates have disappeared from all major supermarkets, ie Asda, Tesco, Morrisons and Sainsbury.

Pre packed corned beef slices have gone out of stock from our local Spar, CoOp and OneStop shops.

Tea bags seem in very short supply.

Mine are pretty ancient grievances, but i’m still mourning Entenmann’s Chocolate Fudge Cake and Marks and Spencer’s Chicken Tikka Sandwiches 😢

Conotrane cream ... kind of like a catch all cream for cuts and sore skin... smells like Parma violets and was cheap as chips. Have a tiny bit left, will be bereft when it's gone.

Clarnico mint creams Shock

I'm going to try this 🙂

Aldi plain protein Yoghurt - was 500g tub, about £1.39 so cheaper than branded Skyr. Has totally vanished. Lots of small, flavoured pots, but not the big, unflavoured option.

I bought two pots today. Hopefully it will come back for you.

Santa Maria fajita sauce jar with pot of dry rub on top. Can't find another that tastes as good.

I love this stuff. I've not seen it for AGES!

Campbells condensed mushroom soup, managed to find it in Home Bargains the other week after it disappeared from all supermarkets

This!! Where has it gone?

Tinned anchovies.
It's as if they've gone extinct.

And as for the version in bottles, the bottles have shrunk and you just get a layer of anchovies around the outside.

So I've gone and looked and apparently there is an international shortage due to El Niño.

English Cox’s apples.

They are the best apples by far. I used to eat them all the time but I found about four packs of them this season. They were constantly out of stock, even in M&S & Waitrose. The discount supermarkets don’t stock them at all, but they all sell tasteless foreign rubbish like Jazz & Pink Lady 🤮. Bring back proper apples!

OMG YES !!!

COX'S ORANGE PIPPINS.......

I looked everywhere and couldn't find them anywhere this year, not even at the farmers market.

What's going on ???

Tesco and Sainsbury's both showing in stock and I added to basket to make sure

And Amazon

Thank you @PawPaw24

I was in Sainsburys today but none on the shelf. Shall detour to Tesco next week to take a look.

For anyone else tempted to buy at Amazon, the last box I bought there cost £6 and arrived with a one month shelf life.

ScrambledSmegs · 15/02/2024 22:55

M&S used to do dark chocolate batons filled with mint fondant. They were my childhood favourites (I was far from normal) and I was devastated that they were discontinued.

They'd better not stop making their wine gums, they're far better than bassets and they have an extra flavour - grapefruit, the white one.

Yes! Pond's cold cream seems to have completely disappeared recently and I'm almost at the bottom of my jar. Where has all the cold cream gone?? I really do not want to be forced to join the 21st century and use something else!
