Has anything you usually buy recently just disappeared from shops?

I cannot find 'cook at home' poppadums anywhere. Used to be in most supermarkets. I used to buy them all the time. I go to my local Indian shop for them sometimes but they've usually only got flavours I don't favour. The ready made ones aren't as nice and are usually in a load of plastic non-recylcable packaging which doesn't please me either.

I don't mean products that have been discontinued a long time ago, more so things that still exist but you just can't buy anywhere from recently!

Own brand coffee creamer is another one. Don't use it myself but I've heard people at work saying this often.

Gaviscon advance tablets

Not even as a generic?

WhispersOfWickedness · 15/02/2024 19:57

Pear Drops!
I know I can get them online and in proper sweet shops, but sometimes I just want to grab some from the supermarket, they used to be a staple with the humbugs and dolly mixture!

Schwartz Moroccan Lamb casserole mix. ☹️

Might have been Colmans but can't find it anywhere.

Easy to make yourself:

PG Tips pyramid tea bags. We used to get the boxes of 240.

I heard they're stopping the pyramid shape ones!

Hydrocortisone is no where to be found at the moment.

in the last 6 months or so I seem to be struggling to find the capsule versions of Paracetamol and also the same for Ibuprofen. the powdery coating on the tablets makes me gag. I realise that this is probably what would be classed as a first world problem.

I have been having exactly the same problem. Found a load in a Tesco recently but most often they are out of stock.

Fox's Classic biscuits. Can hardly get them anywhere now!

Got these in home bargains last weekend. Been looking for them for ages.

Tinned creamed mushrooms, they disappeared during lockdown and never reappeared!
Aldi large floor wipes, Lidl do similar but they aren’t as good.

Don’t know if this will count as it’s not a year round product but galaxy enchanted eggs!! They are my go to after they ruined mini eggs and this year they are no where to be found.

I'm sure they'll be around this year. My husband works for a food import company and he brought loads home last week!! So they will definite be around at Easter.

Riverlee · 15/02/2024 20:02

I’ve only recently realised that Persil washing up liquid has been discontinued. It was stopped several years ago!

It’s fairly similar by the time I’ve turned it into a chicken casserole , and far better than when I tried to make it just using a regular soup .

They have stopped making them.

Maybelline Babylips lip salve. Used to get it in Boots and Superdrug. It's available on Amazon but really expensive.

LorlieS · 15/02/2024 20:06

Red Bounty

RainBow725 · 15/02/2024 20:06

So many things. Washing tablets have disappeared and loads of things in smaller packaging. But @SpikyCoconut I buy cook at home papadums from Tesco all the time. Pataks. It says to deep fry them but I just spray them with oil and stick them in the microwave.

LovingKent · 15/02/2024 20:08

PG tips loose leaf tea - can't find it anywhere.

RudolfsLeftToe · 15/02/2024 20:08

@ChunkyMonkey2020 that’s great news! I’ve seen so many galaxy truffle eggs I thought they’d been replaced!

@EffieeBriest they have the gaviscon tablets in home bargains, I had to buy some for the first time last week.

Walkacrossthesand · 15/02/2024 20:09

Aldi did a wonderful cereal bar in packs of 4 - badged as gluten free, but high protein and relatively low carb, in peanut or sea salt flavours, a perfect treat for my lowish carb approach. They've simply disappeared, vamoosed, gone. 🥺

Dussa · 15/02/2024 20:10

Ciabatta bread. Really hard to find.
