Grin

The Liverpool end at Wembley strikes up a chant of "fuck the Tories" and the Chelsea end fights back with a chant of, er, "fuck the Tories". Look away now prime minister

Electoral calculus now predicts a Labour win for my constituency .

My Tory stronghold constituency.

Currently led by Braverman.

My god that would be the biggest party I've had Grin

Oh, wow. That would be amazing!

Maybe Braverman knows she might be toast, hence the vile diatribe. Setting herself up for the right wing speaking circuit a la the lettuce?

"It doesn't care about the plight of Welsh farmers though. I couldn't give a shiny shite about Rishi Sunak or any other party leader or their godforsaken parties"

You are right. The article didn't do anything to present the issues for farming.

The current Government (and next one if/when it changes) should do more to engage - there seems to be a lot of chat, maybe not enough listening. Coherent policies would be a good start.

Worth a read. Melville loves a bit of AstroTurf.

Im going off a tangent but I think part of the reason we're are in the mess that we are in is because it's been one long political campaign since 2016. Interminable infighting and jockeying for position. It's all about attention grabbing headlines.
We need less politics, more governing with a long term view.

Couldn't agree more.

Brexit, almost no Governance and Austerity are the legacies that the Tories will leave us with.

Absolutely.
I’ve found the last few days extremely depressing & actually quite frightening the rhetoric has truly been abhorrent will party for days if Braverman & 30p Lee are ousted at the next election, growing increasingly gloomy that a May election will not happen.

Brilliant.

If they don’t call an election soon they aren’t going to have any MPs left.

They’ve still got a majority of 55. 😔

Just takes 28 to vote with the Opposition on a vote of no confidence - if they want to just end it now....

I’m guessing the thought of losing £7k a month might dissuade them from doing that.

I wasn’t very clear. I mean they won’t have any MPs after the election.

If you were a Tory MP who isn’t standing down you’d be pretty pissed with there not being an election ASAP I’d have thought. Mind you they seem fairly out of touch with reality.

BIossomtoes · 25/02/2024 18:33

Sorry @RafaistheKingofClay, I misunderstood. I’m quite intrigued to see just how many MPs they’ve got post election. I’m optimistically hoping for double figures.

It was so refreshing when Laura K asked Ed Davey if he was confident of leading the third largest party after the election. He answered with a simple and decisive “Yes”, she was gobsmacked to get such a straight answer.

placemats · 25/02/2024 18:39

Feed back from Labour campaigning today, local and quite a Conservative part of the town. Couple of voters defecting from Cons to Labour and many saying that they most certainly not be voting Cons. Lot's of positives for Labour.

Laura K annoyed me again - when she said about losing their deposit in recent by-elections.

Does she not understand that people are voting to get the Tories out - so Lib Dem supporters are often voting Labour and Labour supporters are often voting Lib Dem - just to get the Tories out?

BIossomtoes · 25/02/2024 18:43

I don’t think she understands at all. She’s so pro Tory that it’s completely alien to her.

Cornettoninja · 25/02/2024 18:58

Penny Mordaunt new favourite for leader

it’s why she’s being looking particularly Thatcherist recently.

BIossomtoes · 25/02/2024 18:59

Oh dear. The Kemi fan girls are going to hate that. Mordaunt thinks TWAW.
