According to his party, Sunak smashed it on Gbeebies

In the real world

Christopher Hope asks people what they thought of Rishi Sunak's Q&As at GB News

.. I didn't learn anything new
.. I wasn't very impressed
.. I don't think Conservatives can win in the next election
.. Where do I hand in my expenses claims

Marking place. Morning.

Roussette · 13/02/2024 12:34

Thx for new thread Dunc.

Part of me wanted to see the GB 'mare with Sunak but Just. Could.Not. Bear. It.

So I've only seen a couple of clips

AdamRyan · 13/02/2024 12:35

Hi Brew

AdamRyan · 13/02/2024 12:37

"Where do I hand in my expenses claims?" Wtf. Not surprised they were having to pay for an audience though

pointythings · 13/02/2024 13:01

Given the byelections on Thursday, this thread is probably not going to last very long. Meanwhile this is what Lasagna thinks of Rishi's performance.

What a beauty your cat is! 😻

MrTiddlesTheCat · 13/02/2024 13:05

I so glad Rishi has a plan. I'm voting for him as the current lot are shit.

pointythings · 13/02/2024 13:11

He's gorgeous, very dominant over the others and on behaviour management, has no teeth, loves people and has the best line in disapproving expressions ever.

I'm wondering what Friday morning is going to look like.

Roussette · 13/02/2024 13:21

@pointythings I was thinking you were meaning Rishi for one minute! Then I saw the 'loves' people and thought nah

..thought for a moment you were talking about Sunak too...

Sunak?

MrTiddlesTheCat · 13/02/2024 13:22

Haha we all thought the same.

Roussette · 13/02/2024 13:24

There's some truth in it...

Disapproving stares - he does that when anyone has the temerity to question him
No teeth - weak as the weakest thing ever
Behaviour management - nothing would surprise me
Loves people was my sticking point

pointythings · 13/02/2024 13:28

Lasagna is actually very strong. He managed to knock me over by weaving powerfully between my feet in his first week here and did my back in. But unlike Rishi, he sleeps on my bed ever so nicely at night, sits on my lap and loves being petted, and looks guilty when I catch him walking on the kitchen counter.

I love the idea that you thought I was talking about Rishi, but I won't tell Las, he may be offended.

BIossomtoes · 13/02/2024 13:32

I’d be most offended if I were him Thanks for the new thread Duncin.

medianewbie · 13/02/2024 13:47

Bigly plaicematting.
Thanks for new thread.

cakeorwine · 13/02/2024 13:58

Just checking in.
That's my plan

IClaudine · 13/02/2024 14:01

I watched the whole Sunak GBeebies thing.

That part that upset me the most was when a pharmacist working in a mental healthcare setting asked what Sunak was going to do to help her patients.

Obviously as soon as he heard the word pharmacist he trotted out the stuff about his mum and how he helped in the pharmacy etc. Then he went on to promote this initiative:

https://www.england.nhs.uk/2024/01/over-10000-nhs-pharmacies-begin-treating-people-for-common-conditions/#:~:text=Highly%20trained%20pharmacists%20will%20be,a%20GP%20appointment%20or%20prescription.

and on and on and ON...

That was it. No mention of improving mental health services. Either he didn't listen to the question properly or he did but just decided not to answer it.

At the start of the hour everyone was stony faced and Sunak got zero applause. By the end he was getting applause, but I wondered if there was someone frantically signalling to the audience to do so.

He kept doing this odd, bouncy thing. Like Zebedee in half mast trousers.

Cornettoninja · 13/02/2024 15:12

maybe they were that relived it was over.

(thanks for the new thread @DuncinToffee)
