smiling at the thought of the cookery books being taken out for an airing.

Today

  • meal plan for the rest of the week - too many meals out have piled the pounds on
  • book next lot of pilates sessions - DONE
  • walk SpiritDoggo x 2 - DONE
  • put away some of the towels and washing

😄this has been on my screen all day, it's been a busy one, enjoy the rest of the day, SoE

Mumtobabyhavoc · 20/06/2024 15:27

Did you manage to fix the jacket, Katie?
Aria, I need to get Havoc for a haircut, too.
SoE, I don't really meal plan, so am impressed.

Havoc woke up at 6:30 🤦‍♀️ so I put away laundry and have now got a load in the wash. I've turned on cartoons and I think I'll sneak back into bed for a bit.

Frostandfrogs · 20/06/2024 16:25

Tempted to have a buzz cut myself @Aria999 Currently growing out a pixie cut and it's at the very awkward stage.

I have a banging headache because I read on the mighty mumsnet that pre eclampsia can cause ( or possibly just predict) heart disease in later life. I had it twice. So I have made an effort to cut out the bit of uhp food that I still eat, and I'm probably detoxing. Tempted just to say blow it, and have a bacon sandwich but I know it'll pass if I sit tight.

Anyone here do Tiles along with wordle etc? Today's was very overwhelming - all colours and angles. Was not relaxing at all!

I have got rid of some clutter today, changed bedding, done a wash and cleaned out the car.

I hope you all have a peaceful evening 💕

RunningKatie · 20/06/2024 18:08

There's toothpaste on the carpet on the landing, I've not managed to get it off yet. Going to have another attempt this eve, also confine dc2 to the bathroom at teeth brushing times.
Just been to collect a new kettle, so that might get unpacked and fired up a few times this evening.
The coat has been repaired @Mumtobabyhavoc - DH took it on, we shall see how long it lasts.
Am supposed to be helping DC1 to sort their clothes this evening, just reminded them and got a very teenager sigh in return.

Frostandfrogs · 21/06/2024 06:55

Morning all! Any luck with the toothpaste on the carpet @RunningKatie? It's amazing how far kids spread their stickiness isn't it? Having said that, in our house it was me who tripped up the stairs with a mug of coffee in each hand, and flung the contents all over the carpet and up the wall 😳
I recognise the 'teenage sigh' 💐

Today I plan to book a deep massage as it seems I've had my shoulders up round my ears lately, and I'm starting to feel it.

Smug soup day today. Also a menu plan and a shopping list so as to prevent DH going wild out grocery shopping tomorrow.

But first, I'm supping tea in my little garden, and loving how the birds almost drown out traffic noise at this time of the year.

Warm Friday wishes to you all! @SpiritOfEdna I love how your daily tasks are mentioned after they are achieved (mainly) I realise I tend to post what I intend to do.... I will rectify this later on!

Mumtobabyhavoc · 21/06/2024 09:06

Froggy, that must've been quite a sight! And awful to clean up... tea in the harden sounds like a nice start to the day.
Katie, hope repair holds!

Haven't a clue why I didn't get into bed after feeding baby at 11:30pm. Instead, I did my exercises, washed kitchen floor and floor around area rug in living room, wiped out sliding glass door track and rinsed the deck off. In bed now and about to search for a podcast to fall asleep to. Must remember to pick up sock I dropped over deck earlier.

eta: Katie, I googled how to removed toothpaste from carpet. Apparently warm water and a cloth, pull up on fibres using cloth then blot and rinse until clean.

SpiritOfEdna · 21/06/2024 09:52

Morning, happy it's Friday even though it's been a four day week for me 😃
Today:

  • everywhere I go in the house there's a random number of dog poo bags (unused, that would be grim 😃) so need to gather them up
  • tidy my desk - it's a curious mixture of exercise bands, poo bags, lotions and dental stuff. Need to put my driving license away as well as it will go awol if it stays where it is. There is barely any space for the laptop! Very annoying - DONE
  • the (slug eaten) hostas have taken over the border, need to move into big tubs
  • take some books to community bookcase, they've been sitting in the hall for a while. Maybe they can go for a drive 😃
As usual, started post, wandered off to do 'stuff', have a good day, SoE
SummerLobelia · 21/06/2024 16:16

Have a wonderful trip @SingleThreadJoiner !

I hope you get a chance to have a rest and see some sights as well!

Afternoon everyone. Smile

Nothing to report here I am afraid. I'm about to water my pot plants though.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend. Thanks

Mumtobabyhavoc · 21/06/2024 16:27

It's a beautiful morning on the coast. ☀️
woke at 7:30, got all of us washed up and teeth brushed, load of laundry on, turned over clothes on drying rack on deck, made latte and put Havoc's brekkie together and am nursing baby. Feels like I'm winning today!!!. Toddler has just been out on the clean deck, so rinsing it off last night was a good move. 👍

KateMiskin · 22/06/2024 11:52

I really need to get back on this thread because I have a shed load of admin and decluttering to do today. I hate doing this stuff when it's sunny out though, but I have to as my spring cleaning is way overdue and my house is filthy.

Today I have to:
Clean out kitchen cupboards, throw away all expired spices, and wipe them down
Wash trainers
Throw out some cardboard boxes
Reply to some emails from my financial advisor
Clean my microwave

And then in the week, I need to
Give away some clothes to the charity shop
Clean the fridge and oven
Clean out the bathroom cupboards which are filled with bottles with half an inch of shampoo
Probably a lot of other stuff

Aria999 · 22/06/2024 13:55

Good luck @KateMiskin !

Aria999 · 22/06/2024 13:58

Shower screen installed
Kitchen cupboard fixed
Garage door ordered (and DH fixed the clicker on the existing one which takes the pressure off a bit)
Chap has removed the broken mirror door and will hopefully return with an unbroken one in due course

DH came back from his travels and made me feel slightly guilty by doing a lot of tidying up in a surprisingly short time.

KateMiskin · 22/06/2024 14:02

I have finished my emails, washed my trainers and cleaned the microwave. Going out for a walk and then the rest.

RunningKatie · 22/06/2024 14:17

Toothpaste is still mocking me, I thought it had gone but no, there's still a patch there. Will try again tonight. I shall be trying your method thank you @Mumtobabyhavoc
Today I've had a family admin morning - holiday balance paid, ordered a new thingy for the phone line that didn't come in the box, recycled some boxes from under dc1's bed, washing out on the line, ironing done.
Now I've got a mug of Earl Grey and I'm sitting with work paperwork to try and write a reason to go up a salary band. I've forgotten my reading glasses though. Again.
The bag of clothes for the charity shop has snuck back in the house as dh needed space in the boot. I shall try and get it out of the office once and for all on Thursday.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 22/06/2024 15:49

Katie, the Good Housekeeping site says to use dishwashing liquid as well. Good luck! 🤞

Mumtobabyhavoc · 25/06/2024 02:40

Hope everyone's Monday went well 😊
I threw in a load of laundry at 7am when Havoc woke up. 🤷‍♀️ Since then, I've washed the kitchen floor and floor around the area rugs in the dining and living rooms and the baseboards. I just cleaned the bathroom, washed the floor and have put the tub and floor mats in the wash. Yesterday I wiped the railings on the deck, sliding glass door tracks and around the screen. Also wiped two tower fans so they don't blow out dust when turned on. Have got a lot of paperwork to sort, file and toss. Have been procrastinating on that. 🫣

Aria999 · 25/06/2024 03:20

@Mumtobabyhavoc you made post number 666 which seems faintly appropriate given your satanic efficiency 🤣🤣

Mumtobabyhavoc · 25/06/2024 05:25

Aria that made me laugh. 😄

SummerLobelia · 25/06/2024 07:51

Morning all. Hope everyone is well. Smile

I have a bitty day today with alot of things I need to achieve so will give myself another MN ban after posting. Life admin, a tax bill to pay, trying to sort out some special assistance we need for our holiday (if Easyjet will answer the phone!); and a few other things which are currently daunting me.

Hopefully I can post again later with a completed list to rival @SpiritOfEdna and @Mumtobabyhavoc !

Hope everyone has a lovely day. Thanks

Frostandfrogs · 25/06/2024 08:05

Hello everyone and welcome back @KateMiskin 👋 Glad our thread helped you get back on track.

I don't know where the days have gone! It's been all go for some of you!

I took some of my indoor plants outside for some fresh air on the shady patio. Poor things had a bit of dust on them so I cleaned the leaves. All back in place now.

We have had a few hours of professional gardener here and it's made such a difference! So we've been inspired to get out there and potter, much like in the house.

Have a lovely Tuesday xx

SummerLobelia · 25/06/2024 16:09

Afternoon all!

A pottering garden day here too, @Frostandfrogs .

I have watered pots.
Planted 6 white geraniums
Washed down the balcony
Washed Dcs bedding
Made beds
Cleaned bathrooms x 3
Changed kitty litter trays x 3
Vacuumed upstairs
Swept hard floors
medicated a cat
Bandaided my hands post medicating
Did a couple of life admin things
Thought about a third admin so have a plan forwards
Ironed 2 basket loads
Washed 2 loads

Now i want to get into my study and sort out the desk.

Hope everyone has a lovely afternoon!

SingleThreadJoiner · 26/06/2024 12:28

I am back! Thank you all for the good wishes - it was a VERY delightful trip, work hard play hard, in a beautiful location & hotel & with lovely friends/colleagues whom I only see once a year. So I returned very happy and re-motivated about work. We had a friend staying over from Sunday (I got back Sat night) to this morning so not too much done, but since I got back I have managed to

  1. get the room ready for him
  2. buy (online) shoes my D needs for a wedding in a couple of weeks
  3. get going with D's birthday party invites
  4. keep on top of laundry
  5. buy myself two new swimsuits for the pool since my usual one went funny in the wash
  6. do a few tasks for the upcoming School Summer Fair (this Sat)

Not too shabby 😆Now I will call the GP to book a cervical smear and then enjoy some leftovers for lunch!

Nice to see you all again!

SummerLobelia · 26/06/2024 15:07

Welcome back @SingleThreadJoiner !

I am so glad that you had a great time!

Good to see you. StarAnd you as well @KateMiskin !

I'm on top of most things today I think. Life admin is getting me down so I am doing a single thing a day until finished. Today is sign tax return and pay tax.

I'll report back when done because I have been putting it off and this will hold me accountable....

SummerLobelia · 26/06/2024 15:26

tax return and payment done!

Took me 8 minutes- yet I have been putting it off for a week and worrying in the night. 🙄

Ain't that always the way? I'm the same but it's such a great feeling when it's done!

Delighted you had a great time @SingleThreadJoiner 😁

I'm hot and tired and a bit grumpy. Life feels a bit too much lately. Too many people needing looking after, and feeling a lot of all the political stuff at the moment. I met up with a friend and she told me she's glad she'll be dead soon and leaving the mad world behind. I'm feeling a bit the same.

But the house is vaguely clean so I guess that's a win.
