Things you still do as an adult

what do you do as an adult, that you shouldn’t really still do?

I (30F) still sick my thumb. 2 young kids and a decent job.

I don’t do it in the day, just at night. Didn’t really think anything of it until my daughter shoved my own thumb back in my mouth whilst she was in bed with us the other night.

Drink squash (Ribena) instead of tea or coffee 😳

There was an advert on the radio recently about “things that annoy you” and they said “adults who drink squash - come on, you’re a grown adult!”. Made me a bit sad.

Go on fairground rides on my own. I am much, much too old for them.

A few people have a teddy on the bed I see! Me too. I started a thread about that a while ago. I think some people posted photos. It was a nice thread.

I alway say Hello! to dogs anyway, and nearly always get a smiley, waggly reply.

I still say "hello Mr moon" whenever the moon is out.

I still peel the top off bourbon biscuits.

Eat the chocolate from around a crunchie. Only when alone.

Pick the hell out of my nose. Only fingers will do. I hate the feeling of anything staying in my nose. I do always wash my hands afterwards though

I still sleep with my teddy and he comes on holiday with us too. DH is always trying to chuck him out of the bed.

I can’t sleep without my very old, very threadbare elephant. Given to me at about 6/7, and I’m 52 this year.

I’ve been with DH for nearly 30 years & he’s never said a bad word about it! She doesn’t come on holiday (or when a Guider, camps and indoor events) but that’s mainly because she’s too precious & I don’t want her to get lost.

Wish on the first star I see at night, complete with the little rhyme.

I bloody love being tucked in bed still. My 7 year old will tuck me in but usually it's my husband.

When my daughter is at her dads, I go in and make sure that Snowflake, her old, battered reindeer cuddly toy is tucked in her bed properly. Then I give him a kiss and say "night night, love you".

I have to put Hula Hoops on my fingers before I eat them.

I salute solitary magpies and ask them how their wife and children are. I also suck my thumb at night. And collect Sasha dolls.

Lovely thread OP. I still have my dollshouse & remember the joy I felt when I got home from my Grandparents’ after a holiday & DF had fitted electric lights in it. I have quite a few soft toys, including my oldest teddy bear who I had for my first Christmas. Still like making sandcastles. Sometimes I buy those Kelloggs variety packs of cereal ( sure it tastes better out of a little box!) Still love anything with a slot - my idea of heaven is a vintage amusement arcade.

I am 60 and I play Fortnite a few times a week.

Say "full moon, half moon, total eclipse" when eating Jaffa cakes.
Sleep with a teddy bear.
Own an "Oodie" with cartoon beagles on.
