Camilla if Charlie pegs it?

sick of listening to a blow by blow account of the kings prostate and some other unknown area of his anatomy that is in bother.

But it did set me thinking about the OW, Camilla. Am sure Charlie will provide for her from his personal wealth in his will, but what on earth would we be expected to call her after Charlie’s death?

I mean we cannot call her the Queen mother like Queens Liz mother, she has no biological relationship with the royals at all.

In my experience adult step children grin and bear their parents new spouse but rarely stay in touch after the parents death. You only have to look on the posts here to know that.

It would, I suppose, be up to King Willy, could be a source of amusement for none royalist folk like me,

Listening to endless royal experts waffle on about it all when it happens.

I just a thought…

@ownedbymydog Trump is not the president at the moment but was despite his morals, usa people still elected him.

@TeenLifeMum
And then voted him out….

Put it this way. If by some weird twist of fate Trump had become king, he could have been in charge not for 4 years but for 50, with no mechanism to get rid of him. I mean, but for a chance of fate we nearly had a Nazi sympathiser on the throne during World War Two. Edward VIII died in 1972, had he not abdicated we would have had a Nazi sympathiser as king until then.

Time you grew up OP.

She'll be still called Queen Camilla like Queen Mary was. Formally it will be Dowager Queen. The Queen Mother is not an automatic title for a queen of a former monarch. No need to revert to former titles. It would also be up to her and the new King how much involvement she then has in public life.

I think the Queen mother was called, Elizabeth the Queen mother, to distinguish her from Elizabeth, the Queen. Queen Mary was also the Queen mother, even though she was mother of the king.

Camilla would prob be referred to as Queen Camilla.

Queen mother relates to the woman’s status as queen, and that she is a mother. Not the Queen’s mother.

Elizabeth the queen mother was the queen consort. She retained title of queen and “mother” was added to help in the differentiation. So that’s why there’s no such thing as the king mother, as king is the man’s title.

Dowager Queen makes total sense to be used for Camilla.

She would be a dowager Queen, just as she is now a Queen consort. I hope we call her Queen Camilla and that her position isn’t too awkward. As I said before it would make the most sense if she retired as her role as support for the King would be behind her and as she wouldn’t be the new King’s mother it could all be a bit strange. But hopefully this is all moot as the King will come though his cancer treatment as expected and maybe she will retire like Prince Philip did before anything happens to Charles in 10 to 20 years time. I really like her and think she is supporting some great causes.

What would Diana,be known as had she lived to see William Crowned ?
She would never have been Queen as Her and Charles were divorced but she would still have been m the mother of a king .

Her title wouldn't have changed, she'd have been Diana, Princess of Wales (assuming she hadn't remarried and it had changed).

Theoretically William could have given her a title, but she wouldn't have been Queen Mother given she was never Queen. Only a Queen who is the mother of the current monarch (be they Queen or King) can be Queen Mother.

Queen Mother is the former Queen who is the mother of the current monarch. Be they Queen or King.

Mother wasn't just added for QEQM. It's a long standing, but little used title.

Yes, that’s what I said in a less snappy way!

Her own title (Queen) followed by mother, as opposed to being “the queen’s mother”
