But it did set me thinking about the OW, Camilla. Am sure Charlie will provide for her from his personal wealth in his will, but what on earth would we be expected to call her after Charlie’s death?

I mean we cannot call her the Queen mother like Queens Liz mother, she has no biological relationship with the royals at all.

In my experience adult step children grin and bear their parents new spouse but rarely stay in touch after the parents death. You only have to look on the posts here to know that.

It would, I suppose, be up to King Willy, could be a source of amusement for none royalist folk like me,

Listening to endless royal experts waffle on about it all when it happens.

The use of the word aviator for pilot goes all the way back to the 1880s so its not exactly due to "popular culture" that people are thinking you mean pilot when you say it

Aviator is a pilot, the etymology comes from the Latin avis for bird, e.g. in the way you see avaian for birds. Makes sense given its referring to something to do with a flying machine.

Avatar comes from the sanskrit avatara which translates into descent I believe. It can refer to an alternate form of God. However this is a Hindu belief and the King is Christian so I'm not even sure why its appropriate to apply a Hindu term to him anyway.

So the etymology isn't even the same for when you are being so scathing at people

Tbf Prince William does have his helicopter licence, so you probably could describe him as an aviator

Your use of the phrase ‘pegged it’ is insensitive, crass and purely used for shock value. The royal family won’t see your attempts to be edgy but other people with cancer or family with cancer will.

The wife of the King are always Queen consorts.
Its not a silly title just made up for Camilla

I'm getting flashbacks to September 2022 and at least three threads trying to explain the difference between Queen Regnant and Queen Consort and wht Camilla is the latter. She'll be queen if and when Charles dies - she just won't be queen consort as that will be Kate. The most likely title is Queen Dowager.
