Camilla if Charlie pegs it?

sick of listening to a blow by blow account of the kings prostate and some other unknown area of his anatomy that is in bother.

But it did set me thinking about the OW, Camilla. Am sure Charlie will provide for her from his personal wealth in his will, but what on earth would we be expected to call her after Charlie’s death?

I mean we cannot call her the Queen mother like Queens Liz mother, she has no biological relationship with the royals at all.

In my experience adult step children grin and bear their parents new spouse but rarely stay in touch after the parents death. You only have to look on the posts here to know that.

It would, I suppose, be up to King Willy, could be a source of amusement for none royalist folk like me,

Listening to endless royal experts waffle on about it all when it happens.

I just a thought…

You have summed up, OP, the utter ridiculousness of this institution. Now Elizabeth has gone Surely it’s time for the ‘royal family’ to just gently expire? Not literally (best wishes to Charles and all that) just constitutionally.

Absolutely agree

Laiste · 06/02/2024 21:52

The first time i heard the phrase 'Queen Camilla' the stupidity of it all properly hit home to me.

I really didn't think he'd get his way with her having that title.

@RunningAndSinging well that was what i was wondering purely for its entertainment value.

Honestly posts like this are bloody awful. Thinly veiled glee from the OP about someone that has cancer and finding it all oh so entertaining.

As someone that lost three relatives in their 50s and 60s last year to cancer you can have my first official fuck off.

Really unpleasant thread. Dehumanising and unkind; presumably an attempt to appear edgy and terribly amusing. Are you about 17, OP? It has a whiff of sixth form about it all.

Karensalright · 06/02/2024 22:07

@ThreeRingCircus I am very sorry for what you must be going through. No doubt your family members are sitting on waiting lists prolonging the risks to the long term prognosis for them

it is just terrible.

i have suffered a number of losses due to the state of the health care system.

i have no thinly glee about ordinary people.

You are foolish to believe the royals care about your predicament.

Goodness, i will be 63 next year! How should I prepare for such difficulty?

What I meant (obviously) was that I imagine it must be very difficult to go from being one of the most photographed and discussed women in the world, largely because of looks, to being an older woman who isn't one of the movers and shakers any more and who isn't considered as photogenic and newsworthy. I am her age, so I know a bit about being 62 (nothing about the rest of the foregoing).

It's not "his way". That's her status. She's the wife of the King - so she is the Queen.

I think she could have been princess consort couldn't she? The queen made a statement though before her death stating she wished her to be queen.

CreateHope · 06/02/2024 22:19

@Maireas the royals always insisted she’d never be given that title due to the whole “Diana debacle” which is why they came up with the silly Consort title - which of course they dropped within days of her becoming Queen 🙄

i am 62. I am being ironic and you all seem to miss that. Which in it self amuses me you all iconise these people and clutch your forehead about people you do not even know. People who have the finest health care one could not even buy.

And get all exorcised about dehumanising them, they are not humans, they are aviators we dont know who they really are or how they live.

It is all propaganda to maintain the status quo ergo poor people who need charity from the rich.

You all are such fools

Constitutionally, there is no such role as Princess Consort, although I suspect I know why it was mooted. The late Queen was just clarifying the position - if you're the wife of the King, you're the Queen. (Doesn't work the other way round, though!)

BobnLen · 06/02/2024 22:22

😂😂 at people who don't like the royals spending their valuable time on a thread talking about the royals, makes no sense.

Karensalright · 06/02/2024 22:24

@BobnLen am having some fun

I said they were aviators which is not the same thing as a pilot. Bless you no wine here what about you ?

2dogsandabudgie · 06/02/2024 22:53

Of course an aviator is another word for pilot, what do you think it means?

ThePerfectDog · 06/02/2024 22:59

Karensalright · 06/02/2024 19:45

This was designed as an anti dote for myself and others who actually find the concept of the royal family and all the pearl clutching about their ins and outs as strange and frankly bizarre.

Yet the flag waving brigade show up to chastise me with hyperbolic nonsense.

You can do that whilst still having a modicum of consideration for all the people going through cancer at the moment who find your attitude fucking disgraceful, regardless of how they feel about the royal family.

Wrong it is actually a Sanskrit word it means the manifestation of of a deity in bodily form on earth.

Commonly used in Hindu

I have no clue why you conflate my derision of the royal family with ordinary people suffering from life threatening illness you do not make any sense

It's also a word for a pilot so I'm not sure why you are telling people they are wrong for saying that 🙄
