Woman falling through window - anyone else not find it funny?!

Quirrelsotherface · 02/02/2024 17:31

So the video of the woman with her boobs falling out was being shared all day yesterday on SM and several friends sent it through on WhatsApp. Very different friends of mine from different backgrounds, different ages etc saying they couldn't stop laughing at it.

Then all over TV today. Is there something wrong with me because I just didn't find it funny? Mildly amusing maybe but not something that would make me laugh out loud or cause me to nearly wee as one friend told me.

Anyone else or am I a weirdo?

Saw the segment of them both on This Morning. Both very funny and genuine. Bit off-point but they are sisters and both called Lisa. How??

I've just watched a bit of the TM clip I think Alison Hammond tripped over the names or they are not Sisters ?

oh further googiling. both Lisa !

Nannyfannybanny · 03/02/2024 11:21

I didn't find it in the least bit funny. Ridiculous and dangerous, clearly arranged. I wasn't intending to view it, but unfortunately a friend posted it on my FB and I opened before I realised what I was going to see. Funny, I read that it had been taken down, because she didn't agree to it. Obviously,a publicly stunt.

EarringsandLipstick · 03/02/2024 12:10

They are both sisters, and they are both called Lisa. I wondered if they may have been step / half-sisters. Or that one changed her name for a reason.

They clearly don't want to talk about it as it would have been an obvious question to ask.

It's a pity to be so wildly uniformed.

  • uninformed, I mean!

She is more than happy with its circulation

It wasn't staged.

Her sister's partner filmed it from the car and you can hear the discussion around it at the start of the longer version.

It happened in June, they didn't put it online, someone clearly shared it as it was a woman in NI, they say, that then posted it in recent days.

HTH!

jeremykylieminogue · 03/02/2024 12:30

I thought it was bloody hilarious but I also felt sorry for her having everyone see it. Then I saw the TM interview and all was right with the world. They were genuinely funny and didn't have an issue with it being viewed by millions. When she talked about wetting herself and it running down her neck...BlushGrin

What is a 'sophisticated' sense of humour? Complex? Intelligent? Can a sophisticated sense of humour happily co-exist with a love of slapstick? Or not?

This. 'Sophisticated sense of humour?!' What a load of rot! 😆 I know people are entitled to say they don't find it funny - though I can't imagine why - but there are some really snobby classist posts on this thread, from people who didn't find it funny.

Not from EVERYone who didn't find it funny, but from some... Wink

The snobby pearl clutching attitude that a few posters are exhibiting is the only thing puerile on this thread!

I think that’s the crux of it, relatability. It’s pretty funny if you can imagine it happening to you or one of your mates in a random daft moment. Most of us have been in a situation of helpless leg-crossing laughter with friends, but I suppose if you don’t have those kind of friendships (eg if you’re just too darn sophisticated) it’s hard to grasp the funny.

Nice.
Because someone doesn’t find this (frankly boring) video hilarious not only do they have no sense of humour but also no friends they have a laugh with.
Hoe judgemental can you get?

Seen it, it's not funny in the slightest. Could happen to any of us.

That's why I find it funny. Because it could happen to any of us😆😆

Wouldn’t happen to me because it’s obvious from the start that isn’t a window anyone could get through safely.

I find the inverse snobbery of those saying anyone who doesn’t find it funny is stuck up, or humourless (including accusing people who laugh in the theatre of being show offs), or doesn’t have friends etc etc far more unpleasant to be honest. It’s weird.

newyear2024 · 03/02/2024 12:47

It was hilarious, the friend doubled over laughing with the boobs pressed against the window as a backdrop 🤣🤣🤣

how come they were both dressed in full summer clothes is it an old video? I loved it

I have been on another thread about this today and asked this question there too, so apologies.
But those who didn't find it funny, would you have laughed if you were the friend and the one to witness in real life?

I’d stop any friend of mine doing something so stupid - she’s lucky she wasn’t hurt.
In the spirit of the question, though, things which aren’t objectively funny can often seem hilarious in the moment, so maybe I would have found it funny in real life. Plenty of things are hilarious with friends but are ‘had to be there’ moments. Have you never tried to explain something that happened which you found hilarious to someone who wasn’t there and realised it actually was dull/pointless/otherwise not funny if you weren’t involved?

TinderTime · 03/02/2024 13:04

I didn't find it in the least amusing but I didn't have the sound on. Didn't know she pissed herself. How the Fuck is that funny?

Ibizafun · 03/02/2024 13:07

Have to admit I loved it although didn't have the sound on. But then my humour is very basicGrin

I wouldn’t explain a “had to be there” moment to someone else expecting a laugh if they weren’t there 😆

fonfusedm · 03/02/2024 13:24

I really don’t find slapstick funny either, but this was something many people found very funny, myself included, simply due to thr sisters reaction. Laughter is often contagious and for many of us, it was in this situation

same

Tempnamechng · 03/02/2024 13:28

Look, I'm a prude and a cynic, but I haven't seen anything that funny for donkeys. Everyone was laughing, proper pure laughter, including the victim, which is why it was so childishly hilarious.

TeenLifeMum · 03/02/2024 13:28

I can imagine finding it funny in the moment but I saw it on my fb feed and didn’t laugh. From reading threads on mn I guess I’m weird but I didn’t find it funny.

WildFlowerBees · 03/02/2024 13:45

I didn't find it particularly funny either, the fact she went on national tv and divulged she also wet herself says it all really.

youveturnedupwelldone · 03/02/2024 13:56

The sister's reaction is hilarious. Sadly as humans we seem to be programmed to find a bit of slapstick funny!

@cardibach that's pretty much what I said on the other thread as well.

Sadly as humans we seem to be programmed to find a bit of slapstick funny!

I must be missing that gene. I don't find slapstick funny at all. I prefer my humour to be a little more subtle.

Your description @newyear2024 has just started me up again😆😆
