Woman falling through window - anyone else not find it funny?!

Quirrelsotherface · 02/02/2024 17:31

So the video of the woman with her boobs falling out was being shared all day yesterday on SM and several friends sent it through on WhatsApp. Very different friends of mine from different backgrounds, different ages etc saying they couldn't stop laughing at it.

Then all over TV today. Is there something wrong with me because I just didn't find it funny? Mildly amusing maybe but not something that would make me laugh out loud or cause me to nearly wee as one friend told me.

Anyone else or am I a weirdo?

OP posts:
ThePoshUns · 02/02/2024 21:50

It wasn't just her that was funny it was her friend helpless with laughter that really made me laugh

Soubriquet · 02/02/2024 21:59

See I didn’t find it funny as in laughing out loud funny but I did think it was amusing

RampantIvy · 02/02/2024 22:06

Can a sophisticated sense of humour happily co-exist with a love of slapstick?

That's an interesting question. I don't find slapstick funny.

likepebblesonabeach · 02/02/2024 22:39

Op do you really think every single person who watched the video thought it was hilarious making you weird for not?
Has it never crossed your mind that everyone finds humour in different things not everyone like the same things.
I find it difficult to believe an adult would think this way, I think it may be a case of you starting a thread to make you feel superior for not finding it funny

Not answering for the OP, but I don’t think it’s that.

It’s that it’s literally gone around the world (I’m at the other end of the planet and have seen it), and that they’re getting interviewed on talk shows….. 🤯

Out of all the funny shit on the Internet - and there is A LOT - why has this one gone so viral? It’s passably amusing and not as good as other stuff I’ve even seen today.

Hoedownwho · 02/02/2024 23:44

Me neither. I just about cracked a smile but not laughter. It was mediocre as funny videos go

Gowlett · 02/02/2024 17:37

I’m just don’t look at funny videos or memes. When friends get their phone out to show me I say “no thanks!”.
But, work away everyone else! You don’t have to watch it, OP.

You sound fun.

Ooooooooy · 03/02/2024 00:00

Whilst I didn’t find the video hilarious, I can see why others do. It’s the other person uncontrollably laughing, just reminds you of the silly things that may happen when with friends (which aren’t necessarily archived and chronicled online!) It’s not about nudity, it’s about the spontaneity of the situation and how it progressed/escalated then the reactions of people nearby. The fact it’s unusual hooked people in. It really is the embodiment of “fuck around and find out”, ie play silly games, face silly consequences

Nonewclothes2024 · 03/02/2024 02:00

No , I didn't find it funny.

Daley22 · 03/02/2024 06:38

That is more amusing then the woman through the window

UseOfWeapons · 03/02/2024 07:06

Just seen it, I’m probably the last person in the universe to watch it, and no, I didn’t find it funny.

Coconutter24 · 03/02/2024 07:08

Floralnomad · 02/02/2024 18:15

This exactly . Call me cynical but why would a third person be filming this .

People film lots of things these days if somethings happening the camera always comes out for some. The third person was probably already stood watching this happen and found their attempts funny so decided to film it for a laugh

Coconutter24 · 03/02/2024 07:10

I laughed as I wasn’t expecting that to happen I thought maybe a fall or something. The woman laughing made it funny

cariadlet · 03/02/2024 07:55

I only heard of the video because there was another thread about it so I clicked on it to see what the fuss was about.
I didn't find it funny at all but we've all got different senses of humour. Slapstick isn't my thing.

I can see why people who do find it funny would want to share it so I can understand that it became viral but it seems very odd if she ended up on tv just because she fell through a window.

FWIW, I think there must be as many people like myself and the op as there are people who found it hilarious but if you're not interested in something then you're unlikely to talk about it.

I'm active on SM but it didn't crop up in either my Twitter or FB feed and nobody dm'd it to me. I had literally hundreds of WhatsApp messages yesterday and nobody mentioned it. Mumsnet is the only place where I have seen the video talked about.

WandaWonder · 03/02/2024 07:59

Not really as it had to be staged, otherwise how else would it have been filmed in the first place?

RampantIvy · 03/02/2024 08:05

Mumsnet is the only place where I have seen the video talked about.

Same here. It wasn't on my FB feed. I only watched it after seeing this thread.

I don't know why I don't find slapstick funny. I didn't find Fawlty Towers funny, but loved Dinner Ladies and Drop the Dead Donkey. I guess I have a different sense of humour.

Nottodaty · 03/02/2024 08:14

It’s her friends reaction that made me chuckle.

It’s been everywhere though, not just Facebook. News publications, tv , it really was the definition of viral.

I really don’t find slapstick funny either, but this was something many people found very funny, myself included, simply due to thr sisters reaction. Laughter is often contagious and for many of us, it was in this situation

100percentage · 03/02/2024 08:18

I loved it! But I wasn't laughing at the woman, more laughing because I could imagine myself doing something as equally dim. Grin

MichaelAndEagle · 03/02/2024 08:20

I don't know why people insist it must be staged just because it was being filmed.
People film anything and everything now. And clearly they thought it might be funny, it was pretty amusing even without the wardrobe malfunction.

RampantIvy · 03/02/2024 08:22

News publications, tv , it really was the definition of viral.

I didn't have the TV on and don't use any other social media. Facebook tends to tailor its feeds based on what you liked so it wouldn't have been on my Facebook feed either.

sunglassesonthetable · 03/02/2024 08:28

Tell me your generation without telling me your generation.

People film everything these days.

curlysue1991 · 03/02/2024 08:37

It was the sister or friend laughing that got me tbh 😂

Not even just a younger people's thing. You've Been Framed was HUGE and people filmed all sorts of mundane crap. I always felt you could tell the staged ones who just fancied a few quid from sending it to YBF. To me it doesn't look staged at all - many misspent nights watching Saturday night TV, drinking wine and eating family sized bags of M&S cheese and onion crisps makes me an expert on these things😆

Octomingo · 03/02/2024 10:00

Well it made me laugh. Mainly, like other pp have said, because it's only a flashed boob away from some of stupid situations I get myself into.

What I really hate are the people in theatres, who laugh knowingly at minor humorous moments in plays, just so that everyone else in the theatre knows that they understand the nuances of the play, when a wry smile would do. But of course, no one else can acknowledge your superior knowledge of the play, with a smile in the dark.
