Imagine being a young / inexperienced pilot, with perhaps this being the first night flying in pure chaos like this - it doesn’t happen countrywide too often. Yes I know they’ve done a gazillion hours training but I’d still be bricking it, being in charge of all those passengers.

I don't think Ryanair ever had a crash though. Can't be that tight on safety.

JellicleCat · 22/01/2024 01:20

And where is Stansted-Edinburgh going? It's heading north-east from Edinburgh. Going around again or headed off for Scandinavia?

Lots of airlines have never had a crash- doesn’t really mean much. And if you look at the database on Reddit they have so many issues with parts and other things going wrong so many a near miss!

That looks like 4 Edinburgh flights, so far, going to cologne for the night - Tenerife, Seville, Dublin and Shannon - hope there are lots of hotel rooms available nearby…

Think it’s going to give it another go

KTT landed. So glad for them!

FeedMeWell · 22/01/2024 01:22

Family member on the Dublin Edinburgh flight which has just landed said that it was surprisingly non-scary. Very glad to be home - she was at Dublin airport since 8am.

SloaneStreetVandal · 22/01/2024 01:23

Is there anywhere in the flight detail / drop down that tells you where its being diverted to?

slore · 22/01/2024 01:23

Antalya to Gatwick lined up to have another go

Glad she's safe. Does she know the earlier Dublin flight is off to Cologne?

AgathaMystery · 22/01/2024 01:24

I think we have a new sharm and a new Antalya in town! (Gatwick)

Lunde · 22/01/2024 01:25

Where is Shannon-Edinburgh headed? It seems to be over the North Sea south of Newcastle

SurreyMumOfOne · 22/01/2024 01:25

The two Tui flights which went around at Gatwick have landed at Stanstead and the Tenerife EasyJet is following them.

slore · 22/01/2024 01:25

Oh actually this is Antalya to Gatwick's first attempt. It just looped around the south of England for a bit before trying

SurreyMumOfOne · 22/01/2024 01:26

Sorry, Marrakech not Tenerife easyJet has diverted to Stanstead from Gatwick.

fridaynight1 · 22/01/2024 01:26

Stanstead to Edinburgh trying again. This looks like the last flight into Edinburgh for a while. Hopefully it lands and aircraft control have time for a well deserved brew.

FeedMeWell · 22/01/2024 01:27

JellicleCat · 22/01/2024 01:24

i’ve told her. She had been complaining they got to take off first when she had been delayed much longer but isn’t complaining now.

slore · 22/01/2024 01:27

Antalya to Gatwick is landing but going very fast

SurreyMumOfOne · 22/01/2024 01:28

Wizz Antalya might make it on the first go, is much lower than the others were when they all pulled up.

AgathaMystery · 22/01/2024 01:28

Omg climbing and it got to 725 feet. Jesus.

slore · 22/01/2024 01:28

Scratch that, Antalya to Gatwick has aborted it's attempt and is now rising. I thought it was going to fast to land.

upanddowns · 22/01/2024 01:28

Argh no, now I'm hooked too! Antalya couldn't land.

Stringagal · 22/01/2024 01:28

JellicleCat · 22/01/2024 01:17

Where is that N/A one inbound from Cyprus going that's over the Forth just now? Guesses?

I assumed it was from the Cypriot RAF base but it took off from Paphos, and Google tells me it’s most likely a luxury private jet. USA or Canada?

How am I going to find out in the morning? I can’t stay up til it lands.

SurreyMumOfOne · 22/01/2024 01:29

Bloody Nora. That's a squeaky bum time one.
