Imagine being a young / inexperienced pilot, with perhaps this being the first night flying in pure chaos like this - it doesn’t happen countrywide too often. Yes I know they’ve done a gazillion hours training but I’d still be bricking it, being in charge of all those passengers.

I don't think Ryanair ever had a crash though. Can't be that tight on safety.

And where is Stansted-Edinburgh going? It's heading north-east from Edinburgh. Going around again or headed off for Scandinavia?

Lots of airlines have never had a crash- doesn’t really mean much. And if you look at the database on Reddit they have so many issues with parts and other things going wrong so many a near miss!

That looks like 4 Edinburgh flights, so far, going to cologne for the night - Tenerife, Seville, Dublin and Shannon - hope there are lots of hotel rooms available nearby…

Family member on the Dublin Edinburgh flight which has just landed said that it was surprisingly non-scary. Very glad to be home - she was at Dublin airport since 8am.

Is there anywhere in the flight detail / drop down that tells you where its being diverted to?

Antalya to Gatwick lined up to have another go

Glad she's safe. Does she know the earlier Dublin flight is off to Cologne?

Where is Shannon-Edinburgh headed? It seems to be over the North Sea south of Newcastle

The two Tui flights which went around at Gatwick have landed at Stanstead and the Tenerife EasyJet is following them.

Oh actually this is Antalya to Gatwick's first attempt. It just looped around the south of England for a bit before trying

Stanstead to Edinburgh trying again. This looks like the last flight into Edinburgh for a while. Hopefully it lands and aircraft control have time for a well deserved brew.

i’ve told her. She had been complaining they got to take off first when she had been delayed much longer but isn’t complaining now.

Antalya to Gatwick is landing but going very fast

Wizz Antalya might make it on the first go, is much lower than the others were when they all pulled up.

Omg climbing and it got to 725 feet. Jesus.

Scratch that, Antalya to Gatwick has aborted it's attempt and is now rising. I thought it was going to fast to land.

Argh no, now I'm hooked too! Antalya couldn't land.

I assumed it was from the Cypriot RAF base but it took off from Paphos, and Google tells me it’s most likely a luxury private jet. USA or Canada?

How am I going to find out in the morning? I can’t stay up til it lands.
