Nope Stanstead to Edinburgh failed for a 2nd time.

IceWhites · 22/01/2024 01:30

Did anyone just see the stansted to Edinburgh? It was a missed approach but looked like it veered off the runway!

Stanstead to Edinburgh trying again. This looks like the last flight into Edinburgh for a while. Hopefully it lands and aircraft control have time for a well deserved brew.

Edited

They seem to have about 45 mins before the next one from Sofia - time for a loo and brew break!

SurreyMumOfOne · 22/01/2024 01:31

Meanwhile easyJet from Gran Canaria, is STILL holding at Gatwick.

SloaneStreetVandal · 22/01/2024 01:31

Stansted to Edinburgh fail! Climbing again! Are they going to follow Shannon to France now??? Edit Germany???

JellicleCat · 22/01/2024 01:31

Stringagal · 22/01/2024 01:28

I assumed it was from the Cypriot RAF base but it took off from Paphos, and Google tells me it’s most likely a luxury private jet. USA or Canada?

How am I going to find out in the morning? I can’t stay up til it lands.

Me too, want to know where it's going but am not staying up to find out!

YetMoreNewBeginnings · 22/01/2024 01:31

Stanstead heading away (cologne?) now after that attempt?

BungledBundle · 22/01/2024 01:31

@IceWhites I think it had started climbing again by then. The altitude is always a bit delayed I think. Looked like it had practically touched down though. How bloomin awful for everyone.

slore · 22/01/2024 01:32

Holy shit the sharm el sheik one at Gatwick is landing ridiculously fast

AgathaMystery · 22/01/2024 01:32

Landed but OMG.

IceWhites · 22/01/2024 01:32

I reckon stansted-Edinburgh will be off to France now. It must be so scary to be in a missed touchdown- has anyone ever experienced it?

OP posts:
upanddowns · 22/01/2024 01:32

Sharm made it! Looked for too fast at first.

AgathaMystery · 22/01/2024 01:32

That must have been really uncomfortable

SurreyMumOfOne · 22/01/2024 01:33

Wool Tui from Sharm made it. I think that's the first to land for over two hours. Lost count of how many go around there have been

slore · 22/01/2024 01:33

Sharm el Sheik did land but that those speeds must have felt scary on board.

StinkyLittleBastrads · 22/01/2024 01:33

upanddowns · 22/01/2024 01:32

Sharm made it! Looked for too fast at first.

I was sure they were gonna go back up!

Crazy

Wish there were live cameras at the airport.

oakleaffy · 22/01/2024 01:18

That's shocking.
Many decades ago, a Passenger ship, the Princess Victoria {Jan 31st, 1953} sailed into the teeth of an horrendous storm - Between Stranraer and Larne.
The Poor souls aboard, No women or children survived, only young, fit men.

Risks should not be taken for profits.

My mum should have been on that boat. She went into early labour and couldn't travel.

JellicleCat · 22/01/2024 01:33

Surely Stansted-Edinburgh will go back to Stansted rather than Cologne?

IceWhites · 22/01/2024 01:34

What speed was it doing? Was too busy having a browse at other planes to watch! Sounds bumpy and scary!

OP posts:
Lifeinlists · 22/01/2024 01:34

DS landed in Dublin just before midnight from Manchester after a 5 hour delay. Sent me a video of the landing which was a bit bumpy but not too bad. No stacks or diversions for him, luckily, but lots of delayed flights now landing so I guess it's a bit busy there atm.

His work colleague got rather worked up before the flight so DS spent most of the delay calming him down! Glad it wasn't me on that flight, but I was tracking him in Blush

Unless they’ve run out of hotel rooms I think it’ll head for cologne. They might as well have 5 flights of Edinburgh bound people there as 4, plus all their staff will be dealing with tbt current inbound ones and this wouldn’t be too far behind

SurreyMumOfOne · 22/01/2024 01:34

EasyJet from Gran Canaria looks like it's leaving the stack. Loads more now coming into the holding pattern.

Albarinoqueen · 22/01/2024 01:34

I was on a flight IOM to Edinburgh- 2 failed landings and diverted to Glasgow- was told runway was longer. A strange man asked if he could hold my hand!!

CatsLikeBoxes · 22/01/2024 01:34

Gran canaria to lgw surely has to divert?

Flightradar Storm Isha part 2
JellicleCat · 22/01/2024 01:34

Meanwhile, second Stansted-Edinburgh heading north currently over the Lake District
