Yay! Now going to have to check that Ryanair gets in safely 😂

carerneedshelp · 23/01/2024 23:40

@Malbecfan how do you tell what code they are on and if it's a normal code?

Sorry if it's a daft question I'm new to this!!!

Flightradar 24 flags up aircraft which are squawking emergency codes. 7700 is a general emergency, 7600 is (I think) loss of radio communications and IIRC 7500 is hijack. Sorry if I got these wrong, it's late and DH is the expert but he's not here.

I don't have the paid for FR24, so I use PlaneFinder instead. You can click on an aircraft and it displays the squawk. On the free version of FR24 that information is locked. HTH - looks like TFS to EDI has finally landed.

I’m allowing myself Milan to Edinburgh and then please tell me to eff off to bed

Cece92 · 23/01/2024 23:37

Milan not far behind the Tenerife one. I'm 20 mins from Edinburgh airport and on a flight path and I've heard 1 plane since Sunday xx

The whole of Scotland looks really quiet tonight 🤔

Telling myself to eff off to bed now!

ClydeBank · 23/01/2024 23:47

Great - Milan has landed. Night all 😀😄

Cece92 · 23/01/2024 23:49

@DIANNNE Scotland is very quiet I was thinking the same. It's quiet outside in general. A lot of people avoiding the weather since we got bartered Sunday night bad xx

The Wizz air flight from tromso to Luton is on an odd flight part!

Murpe · 23/01/2024 23:51

I am trying to follow what WUK760E is doing - destination is Luton, but did a loop at Huntingdon, then went south to Gravesend area, where it looped again and is now going north. Does anyone know why this would be?

Whatthetrolley · 24/01/2024 00:01

Edinburgh to Stansted also taking the scenic route

Stansteds just had 3 go around in a row...

Stringagal · 24/01/2024 00:16

It’s SO windy near Leeds airport tonight, I don’t know if it’s just funnelling down my road but it’s worryingly loud out there, worst I’ve ever heard it I think. As it’s forecast to be the same in the morning I imagine LBA will be facing more trouble.

IceWhites · 24/01/2024 00:21

I don’t live far from East Midlands and my goodness the wind is bad just about to watch a Edinburgh to East Mids try and land in the next ten mins

I'm new to this. Planes going into EMA seem to be doing big loops to get there, is that the wind or normal?

LilyRed · 24/01/2024 01:36

It's pretty normal; it's so they can get the correct angle and direction of approach to the runway.

ConsistentlyPeeved · 24/01/2024 07:32

I do hope these threads get carried on, following planes has become my new obsession and I'm scared of flying 🤣

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 24/01/2024 07:49

I think we need our own section for this 😀

RampantIvy · 24/01/2024 07:53

I'm watching two planes trying to land at LBA.

RampantIvy · 24/01/2024 08:00

The Aer Lingus one is only a little turbo prop.

SurreyMumOfOne · 24/01/2024 09:09

Ryanair from EMA is just about to have its third go at Shannon

SurreyMumOfOne · 24/01/2024 09:12

And Wizz from Bucharest to Leeds looks like it didn't even try and is off somewhere else.

Thatnameistaken · 24/01/2024 09:15

There's a whizz Bucharest to Leeds flight got as far as Leeds and turned away, it's heading south west now and climbing.
I thought it might be diverting to Manchester but it's sailed past there.

Did they land? Wizzair just got very near but is now diverting somewhere down past Sheffield. I’m near LBA and just watched a lady trying to walk down our street and get buffered backwards several times so I’d be amazed if anything lands here this morning.

SurreyMumOfOne · 24/01/2024 09:21

The LBA arrivals and departures boards are a mess, yet again.

Thatnameistaken · 24/01/2024 09:29

Bucharest to Leeds looks like it's trying for Birmingham
