Do you wash your hands after a wee in the night?

It’s the middle of the night and you’re up for a wee. (Assume you’ve just dabbed yourself dry with loo roll, no other bodily fluids present!) Do you do a full 30 second soap and water hand wash vs after? A quick water-only rinse, and pat dry? Not wash at all and go straight back to bed? Something else completely?

I’ve often wondered what others do but too afraid to ask in real life 🫢

Eugh 🤢 Those who don't 🤢 Revolting

Strawberrypicnic · 16/01/2024 00:55

Always wash with soap!! Presumably you've touched the toilet to flush it?

DogLover24 · 16/01/2024 00:55

@starfishmummy You wear surgical gloves to have a wee and cover your bedsheets in plastic??????? WTAF

HollyKnight · 16/01/2024 00:59

I don't flush because it is very noisy at night, but I always wash my hands. I don't live alone, so I have no idea who has touched what, nor their level of cleanliness.

FreyafromLondon · 16/01/2024 01:13

No

HoppingPavlova · 16/01/2024 01:21

I don’t wash hands, nor do I flush. When I get up in morning, I wee first thing, then go straight into adjacent shower (shower door left open) and turn taps on. Water runs down over taps and I put spa on my hands and body. Finish showering, step out to dry and the shower door is left open until next morning.

No but I turn tap on and off briefly in case DH has woken and heard me in bathroom. If DD (6) heard me leave without washing the whole house would be awake and being informed.

I do this 😎

ronoi · 16/01/2024 01:28

I'm lying in bed and just randomly scratched my fanny: I'm wondering, do I need to get up and wash my hands or am I safe to cuddle into DH as usual?

Is getting up in the night to pee a common thing? I don’t think I’ve ever done it in my life. Once I’m in bed that’s it for the next 8 hours.

Me neither. No idea it was a thing.

Bathroom before bed and then again in the morning. Never wake up.

Quite naive about women's health?

Then this isn't the thread for you. What made you open and respond to something so irrelevant to you?

No. I live on my own and don't really care.

Same!!

Perhaps but I wouldn't have though so.

I clicked on the thread as I was curious. I'm as entitled to comment as everyone else, thank you.

Of course you are. I just wonder what people get out of posting on a thread juts to say it doesn't apply to them.

mamboshirt · 16/01/2024 01:53

It's amazing all our ancestors survived with a stack of newspaper tacked to the wall beside the loo and no sink. Use your brains people. Your own pee is not going to kill you. Bizarre. Mind you , I never got over the MN lady that changed her sheets after sex, no matter the time, middle of the night!

LaurieStrode · 16/01/2024 01:59

Od course. And moisturize.

Jesus, the low standards here!!!

I think @starfishmummy may be making a little joke. A wee joke, you might say.

SapphireSeptember · 16/01/2024 03:10

Yes. I also flush as the toilet is one of those low water usage ones and if I don't it gets clogged with loo roll!

tuvamoodyson · 16/01/2024 04:51

Yes.

I'm surprised so many people are getting piss all over themselves going to the loo.

Genericusername12345 · 15/01/2024 21:51

I can’t believe how many people don’t wash their hands! This confirms for me that people are always dirtier than I expect them to be.

But they are just jumping back into bed. Not touching surfaces or anything. Why would they need to? What do you think will happen?

You flush after a wee in the night? I think that's unusual.

saraclara · 15/01/2024 23:13

I'm amazed that most of you will go near a penis, frankly. Given that your so revolted by touching your own genitalia through layers of paper. And of course blokes don't wipe their dick after they've done a wee

DH wipes his drippy one after a pee. Leaky prostate age🤣
