Slightly O/T but some of you might enjoy this forgotten gem of a film from 1999 called Hunting Venus. It stars Martin Clunes and Neil Morrissey as former band members of fictional band ‘The Venus Hunters’ who had a minor hit with ‘Starburst. Jane Horrocks is their number one fan and gets the band back together for a one off performance on Jools Holland’s New Romantic retrospective. cameos from Tony Hadley, Gary Numan and Phil Oakey.

Huge Kirsty fan here too. My fave of her songs is Soho Square. Have been there and seen her bench 💔 💔

I sent it to my best friend to listen to a couple of years ago, he thought it was playing on the wrong speed!! 🤣 🤣 🤣

👋 fellow Kirsty fan @Elderflower14 I’ve been to the bench too. I saw her live loads of times, the best gig was in a tiny venue called the Borderline just off Charing Cross Road. It was the size of a front room and I was near the front so she was just in front of me!

@bendmeoverbackwards @Elderflower14 I went to her tribute concert at the Royal Festival Hall (?) which was a great but emotional evening. Days and Dear John are probably my faves if I had to choose

@bendmeoverbackwards we also saw Carol Decker doing a small gig not long before lockdown. She's still got it! Great unplugged version of China in Your Hand.
