Son eating us out of house and home

DS 19 eats everything and anything. He doesn’t leave anything for anyone else and doesn’t replace. He also infuriatingly doesn’t even let you know it’s gone or add it to the Alexa shopping list.

Example: Friday evening I buy 6 pints of milk. I just go to decant a bit to take to work and it’s all gone. Every last drop. I was even at the Supermarket at 3pm and could have bought more if he added it to the Alexa list

Another example, I go to get a cake from a pack of four for dessert. All gone.

A pack of eight wraps. All used up along with the cheese.

Am I being unreasonable getting upset with him. He thinks I am.

i think it’s safe to say everyone knows that OP’s son shouldn’t have drank 6 pints of milk and eaten 4 desserts in less than 2 days leaving nothing for anyone else! End of.

I think it's safe to say @LuckySantangelo35 I've never disagreed with that. It's rude and selfish.

But back to your original point weather he needs the food/fuel is a completely different issue. And people just can't get their heads round that.

i think what people are saying is that he probably doesn’t need such a lot of calories but is just eating cos it’s there and he can and it tastes nice! He’s not eating boring toast or whatever is he? It’s all the desserts!

It's rude to eat ALL of the desserts. And probably lazy. Eat the toast! That's what I would say to my off spring. I don't dispute that.

But telling him he doesn't need the calories, he's not hungry, he doesn't need the fuel . That's pretty rude really.

When they get to the point where they are inconsiderate and an adult. That is when they get kicked out. And learn to stand on their own feet. If not then they will continue to leach on you, they're distant families or their friends. What was a good lesson to me. Was when my father brought me out to the salt flats in Utah. And left me in the middle of the desert. Telling me to make it to the root of the Hill or I will die. That is when I learned to stand on my own feet. And learned how to appreciate a lot more. If you don't force him to grow up. Then the world will crush them. And use them as nothing more than a step in stool until he's had enough and kills himself. It's called a tough love. Where you love me enough to be tough on them because you know it's better for them.

When they get to the point where they disrespect you and become inconsiderate. That is when they need the boot out of the house. In order to appreciate life they must be deprived of it. In order for a person to appreciate something they have to know pain to appreciate the relief. If you don't do what is necessary for them to grow up and to stand on their own feet the world will crush them under their boot. And he will become nothing more than a stepping stool for them. And then it will come to the point where he feels like he can't take anymore and will kill himself. My father taught me this by taking me out to the salt flats of Utah. Leaving me in the middle of the desert and told me. To reach the root of the hill where he'll be waiting, within 3 days or I will die. That caused me to rise up and become appreciative of life and for everything my parents did. In my opinion it was exactly what I needed. Others may say that's child abuse. I say they never had it so hard. Each generation thinks that the previous generations form of discipline is far too much. But that's only because they never had worse. And now society is producing brats that trample over everything and everyone in their path. And soon our society may be too corrupt to be saved. So don't let your son be like that. Push him down enough to teach him how to stand on his own. At this point it's almost already too late for you to help me. The best kind of help you can give him is to let him go.

He’s 19 and contributes £70pw.. It’s just thoughtlessness. Yes I’d be pissed off but there are worse things..
