I feel like I've watched every good series possible and have nothing to binge now. Help.

I couldn't possibly list everything I've ever watched but safe to say I've watched probably all the big name shows (GoT, 24, Prison break, the Sopranos, breaking bad, Outlander, Vikings etc etc) aswell as a lot of the big 90's/00's teen dramas like Gossip Girl, The OC, Dawson's Creek etc and now I can't find anything to watch.

I've googled and everything in the top 100 lists I've either seen or watched a few episodes and couldn't get into it.

So, what have you watched that might not be the post popular series but you found it great? Or what do you rewatch?

Have you seen a programme called Murder One from the 90s? I remember that being addictive and bet it’s not on any list!

LOVED this!!

Oh I'd forgotten Shtisel, that was really good.

\And if you like your drama in Yiddish then Rough diamonds is in a mix of Yiddish, English and Flemish. It's based around diamond dealers in Antwerp who are orthodox Jews, but one of the main characters is estranged, no longer Orthodox and has been living in London for a few years with his young son.

A Small Light on Apple tv is good.

It's the story of Miep Gies, who helped Anne Frank's family while they were in hiding. It's hopeful, despite obviously being a bit sad because you know how it ends.

I've watched a couple of 2/4 part documentaries on Netflix recently.

Exposed: The ghost train fire - a reinvestigation of a fire that killed 7 people in 1979.

and

I Just Killed My Dad.

Both start out as fairly straight forward cases until you get in deeper.

I'm not sure if they count as 'series' but IMHO are both worth a watch.

The Kingdom (MMA) - it's free on Prime with adverts. Excellent series especially if you like sports-related series.

The Railway Men on Netflix is excellent.

I just remembered this posting on another thread. It's the story of the railway workers after the gas leak in Bhopal in 1984.

I remember the disaster happening but I had no idea of this side of the story.

We've been watching stuff from Walter Presents on Channel 4, e.g. Astrid: Murder In Paris (series 1 & 2), A French Case & The Sketch Artist - all in French with subtitles & good. Tried an Italian detective one but it was awful & I gave up partway through the first episode & did something else, while DH saw the whole episode & said, "Never again."

Poker Face. On amazon prime. Natasha Lyonne. Brilliant.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 26/01/2024 10:41

Spiral, assuming you haven’t seen it. Subtitled French police drama, brilliant. We had seen some on catch up but I then bought the box set for dh a couple of Christmases ago. We enjoyed a lovely binge-watch that went into January.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 26/01/2024 10:43

One we really enjoyed long after it was first aired, was Last Tango in Halifax - in case nobody else has mentioned it.

Oh, and The Detectorists.

HumanBurrito · 26/01/2024 11:27

Deutschland 83, 86 and 89. Top TV 👌

Good call. Anyone with NOW can watch Lucky Man and every episode of Spooks. They’re both excellent.
