I feel like I've watched every good series possible and have nothing to binge now. Help.

I couldn't possibly list everything I've ever watched but safe to say I've watched probably all the big name shows (GoT, 24, Prison break, the Sopranos, breaking bad, Outlander, Vikings etc etc) aswell as a lot of the big 90's/00's teen dramas like Gossip Girl, The OC, Dawson's Creek etc and now I can't find anything to watch.

I've googled and everything in the top 100 lists I've either seen or watched a few episodes and couldn't get into it.

So, what have you watched that might not be the post popular series but you found it great? Or what do you rewatch?

I've just finished Deadloch on Prime. Loved it. Aussie comedy crime drama, set in Tasmania. Was a bit too 'cast of grotesques' to start with but by the end the story and the comedy were a perfect fit.

Really hope they do a season 2. Apparently it started life as 'Funny Broadchurch' which I can kind of see, in retrospect.

Totally agree with this. It's brilliant but you have to stick with it as at first it just feels OTT and clunky.

I re-watched The Wire recently. It was even better than the first time round and the second watching made me realise how much I’d missed when I first saw it.

Does it have subtitles yet? I gave up as I couldn't understand or properly hear a word anyone said in the first two eps and it pissed me off. There were no subtitles for it at the time.

Sarvanga38 · 11/01/2024 09:49

So many people mention The West Wing, but is it only me on The Newsroom? If you love Sorkin and haven't watched this, you're missing out. I think I might even love it more than TWW.

If you can find it I recommend Life in Pieces, made me laugh out loud.
Can you get the Chicago series in the UK? Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and I think the other one is Chicago PD?

@Thursa

I think you and I must be the only people I know who love Life in Pieces. Brilliant cast, brilliantly acted, very funny script.

They've probably already been mentioned, but some we've watched recently and loved are

Dead to me
How to get away with murder
Ted Lasso
Bad sisters
Unforgotten
Yellowstone

Dead to Me

Comfort food for the brain that you can watch more than once because you're wrapping yourself in it more than watching it:
Poirot
Marple
Midsomer Murders
Big Bang Theory
Buffy

Nuanced and detailed enough to watch more than once for the sake of the story:
The Blacklist
Bones
Babylon 5

Take so long to watch that by the time you've finished you've forgotten the beginning and can rewatch them 😁
Star Trek Next Gen, Voyager or DS9
Supernatural

KitchenSinkLlama · 11/01/2024 11:50

Fisk

I can't recommend this enough. Funny, a bit silly and the best kleptomaniac character I've ever seen (sadly only in one episode).

Blubbled · 11/01/2024 12:20

Kin
Smother
Love/Hate
Line of Duty
Happy Valley
Top Boy Summerhouse
Top Boy- the new series on Netflix
Bloodline- why has no one mentioned this one yet? It's so good I've watched it all the way through 3 times now, in fact I've either watched the above more than once all the way through or will be in the near future. Bloodline's still on Netflix.
Also, the first series of Altered Carbon is good, I wasn't so struck on the 2nd one though!
The Serpent- chilling!

Wow so many good suggestions! I think I am going to start with This is Us and go from there.

I know I'm not the only one who would love to be able to wipe a show from their memory and watch it all over again. For me that would definitely include GoT, The last kingdom, Vikings, Outlander, 24, The Wire (although it's been years since I've watched so could do a rewatch soon as I've forgotten loads), Prison Break and many more!

DH hasn't seen GoT and said he'd like to watch it with me but I haven't forgiven them enough for the ending yet to be able to rewatch.

A combination of age and long covid brain fog has ruined my memory, and I tend to watch TV whilst knitting or messing round on the iPad, @FatimaWhippedRed, so I can watch things again. and be surprised by the plot.

After watching all 16 series of Criminal Minds (which is about the work of the profiling unit of the FBI), I am sure I am now a fully qualified profiler!😂

isthismylifenow · 11/01/2024 13:10

I haven't seen it already mentioned, but I enjoyed A Million Little Things.

Its a decent length too, 5 seasons and 15 -20 episodes per season.

mumonthehill · 11/01/2024 13:20

The winter king on itvx is good. We have rewatched the big bang theory as well which is easy watching.
loudermilk for a very quirky comedy.

Snazzysausage · 11/01/2024 13:20

Bosch on prime?

I second Bosch

The Bear was stunning - especially series 2, beautiful.

I keep recommending this amazing series I watched last year - called ‘The restaurant’ it’s a Swedish historical family saga spanning the decades following WW2. The Swedish title is ‘Our Time is Now’.
Think it’s on Amazon Prime. Very few things grip me these days but it was the best thing I’ve seen for years. And you get 4 series to get stuck in to. A real love story.

Also recently loved ‘’Time’ the second one set on a women’s prison.

This is us is FAB! I am also about to start watching ER again. Watched it religiously as a student and have forgotten most of the storylines but I'm always partial to a bit of young George Clooney 😂

Slow Horses

lisa12000 · 12/01/2024 01:31

Slow Horses - it gets better and better
Only murders in the building - the same as above
Bad sisters - amazing and cant wait for second season
Haunting of hill house - rewatched it a number of times
Ted Lasso - does not matter if you dont like football dont let that put you off
The Afterparty (Apple TV)
One of us is lying

But Severance is the one I really recommend (apart from the painful wait for season 2) - its utterly fabulous!!
