John Cooper Clarke lives close by and he’s often seen out and about. What you see is what you get - always friendly and very approachable. Genuinely nice guy.
I recently met Ginny Holder (Darlene, Death in Paradise) and she was very openly friendly. She is way more beautiful in real life than on screen and has a spontaneous dazzling smile.

I think she's pretty spectacular on screen tbh! (Note username 🤣🤣🤣)

I once sat next to Johnny Briggs (Mike Baldwin) in a Chinese restaurant. I was very young, a bit star struck and a bit drunk. He was very sweet and put me at my ease.

Met Harry Redknapp out dog walking one day. He had one of the few dogs my dog actually got on with. Very friendly, chatty bloke.

Once saw Esther Rantzen in John Lewis. She was a tiny, bird like thing.

I (and my ex-H) had a beer in a bar with Lemmy from Motörhead in LA. HE bought us a beer. Lovely chap. We didn’t acknowledge that we knew who he was and he And exH just chatted about guitars.

I very briefly danced with Anton du Beke. He was so charming. Loved him.

Alistair Campbell, lovely bloke. Sharp like tug wouldn’t believe age very funny.

I'm still grinning from ear to ear thinking about the time I met Jonathan Roumie, the talented actor who plays Jesus in the hit series "The Chosen"!

It was at a faith-based conference last year, and I was nervous but excited to meet him. I'd admired his work and heard wonderful things about his kindness.

As I approached him, I was struck by how down-to-earth and humble he was. No entourage, no airs – just a warm smile and a gentle handshake. He looked even more handsome in person (sorry, had to say it!).

What surprised me was how relatable and authentic he was. We chatted about faith, family, and even our shared love of food (who knew he's a pizza enthusiast?). He listened attentively, asked thoughtful questions, and shared inspiring stories.

What struck me most was his kindness and generosity. He took time to pray with me, offered words of encouragement, and even signed a special message for my sister, who's a huge fan.

Meeting Jonathan Roumie exceeded my expectations. He embodied the same compassion, empathy, and love that shines through his portrayal of Jesus on screen. It was a truly blessed encounter!

My husband once barred Laurence Fox from the pub he was working in. Unsurprisingly he was a knob!

In the last few years he’s become increasingly proud of that decision.

Love this!

Love this!

That Laurence Fox incident! (chuckles) Yeah, I remember that night vividly. He came in thinking he owned the place, acting like a total diva. I called him out on his behavior, and let's just say he didn't take kindly to it.

At the time, I just thought, "Another entitled celeb thinking they're above the rules." But over the years, seeing how he's doubled down on his controversial views and general arrogance, I've grown proud of telling him to take a hike!

My ex wife loves bringing it up, saying, "You kicked Laurence Fox out of the pub!" (laughs) It's become a funny anecdote, but also a reminder that no one's above basic human decency.

Whenever Fox makes headlines for spouting off, my mates give me grief, saying, "You knew he was trouble!" (laughs) Guess I've got a good radar for spotting self-importance!

Would I do it again? Absolutely! No room for disrespect in my establishment.

Met several but the one I was most surprised by, in a good way, was Greg Proops from Whose Line Is It Anyway? Incredibly humble and generous with his time, genuinely appreciative of every person who'd come out to see him and wait around afterwards in the hope of a quick chat. I didn't expect him to be horrible, but equally I didn't expect him to be SO nice!

Years ago now, Richmond Green, met my daughter, after work, in a pub next to her office. Sat just along the bench from a morose bloke staring into his pint. Daughter bounced in, asked morose bloke to move up a bit, we both had a drink before the theatre. Got up to leave and I noticed grumpy bloke was Ronnie Wood, Stones. "You've spent half an hour sitting next to Ronnie Wood!" ? She has a closer look. "Who is he?"

hogmanayhoolie · 15/10/2024 15:52

@KellyPero Never heard of Jonathan Roumie

Is that him in the photo?

EachandEveryone · 15/10/2024 16:29

Looking at his wiki page he seems a very staunch catholic never had a wife in his 50 years totally anti abortion and I’m guess bigger in America than here. Very good looking though.

Do tell who the young marrieds from 'Take the High Road' were! I've just started watching the re-runs on STV (getting a bit of an addict - I'm thinking of joining the Mrs Mack fan club - how sad is that? 😂). I didn't know any of them were married in real life - it wouldn't be TJ and Carol, by any chance?

The lady laird (Fiona?) was married to the chap she was married to in the series…
