Anyone actually excited about a Keir / Labour govt?

1000 replies

roarrfeckingroar · 04/01/2024 17:37

I'm typically a Tory voter (one nation Conservative, just right of centre, nothing radical) and gender critical, so I'm wary of a Labour government. I worry they'll leave the country worse than it is now.

However, I absolutely agree we need a change. Things can't get much worse, can they? Idiots like Boris and Truss have made a mockery of what I understand of the Conservatives - namely economic competence - and I can't vote for them this time. I don't know who I will vote for.

Listening to LBC this evening, I hear a Labour MP talk about how Starmer is offering an "exciting programme" of change and I just don't buy it. Maybe he will he better, maybe he won't, but my real question is is anyone genuinely excited about Labour, or just looking forward to the back of the Tories?

I could say yes or no, but as a previous poster tried to explain repealling the GRA apparently is quite difficult, so answering yes or no, like the question is a little daft.

Yes I might be aiming too high given previous attempts at getting yes or no in response to any question

An easier one for you

Should biological males have access to female spaces?

Not the law as it stands but what you prefer to happen

yes or no..

jasflowers · 06/01/2024 07:38

EasternStandard · 06/01/2024 07:32

no, men shouldn't be in womens spaces

Finally. Good so a male with a GRC won’t have access even though legally female. You’ll need a way to exclude them by law. Labour oppose the suggestion of biological sex in EqA but it would do it.

Sorry but its not "finally" i opposed the repeal of the GRA yesterday & explained why.

You have still not answered whether you think the GRA should be repealed, i didn't ask about reform of the eq act.

Perhaps you re hoping we'll max out on the post count.

suggestionsplease1 · 06/01/2024 07:39

It's manifestly clear you can't answer this big question.

Pro Labour posters seem to go all Starmer with these questions

Should males continue to access female spaces?

Easy one.. yes or no

Edited for - biological males as Labour lack clarity

Edited

To help me understand and be able to answer the question, if I am travelling with my ds, should we be able to go into the female toilets together?

If my partner was travelling with my dd or ds when they were younger, should he be able to go into the female toilets to use the nappy changing facilities that were located there and not in the male toilets?

Can you address the points I have made please? It's been a lot of waffle and side-tracking ...

Why do you think your obsessive fixation on 'What a woman is' is the be all and end-all?...

...When the top 4 countries in the world to be a woman in have all proceeded with gender self-ID ...

...and remain at the top of the tables for women's parity with men?

i responded to your post on the top four earlier. I know you are very keen on this but the pp had it right when they said you’re mixing up correlation and causation.

All readers with half way decent comprehension know that I have not. And others have pointed this out to you 😂

Access to female spaces yes or no for adult biological males, no dc in tow - your preference

Ok well it’s great you needed to bring it up again but your 😂 doesn’t mean I agree with you over the pp who was right

suggestionsplease1 · 06/01/2024 07:43

Why have the best countries in the world for women not dropped down the table in any way after introducing self-ID if it has such a detrimental effect for women?

Why do they remain at the top?

suggestionsplease1 · 06/01/2024 07:45

Why are you pitching this as the sole thing of relevance for women to consider when voting, when other countries doing the best for women have shown they can create this environment for women alongside policies of self ID?

jasflowers · 06/01/2024 07:46

@EasternStandard Do you want the GRA repealed or not, simple enough question.

Unless it suddenly dawned on you, what repeal would actually mean.

I prefer to not have gender ideology as it’s not good for women or dc even as they are indoctrinated at schools

But what do you want? Are you pro self ID?

Has anyone who supports the government answered why they think it acceptable to joke about drugging ones wife with a date rape drug?

Or is it like when MPs and ministers support those who want less education for women so they can have more babies, just something that gets ignored?

I am pro the best environment for women.

And I know the countries and policies that do well for women are also those that do well for LGBT populations.

As I answered in the other thread my first preference would be to update the EqA to biological sex, take gender ID out of schools entirely, no compelled speech for pronouns, and plain English based on facts for language

All these things can be done without repealing. after this I would decide on whether to do more as the GRA is a legal falsity and bad law. There are other ways we could have arranged society such as ensuring males understand their sex class includes all males.

I take it we are in agreement that in the two examples I provided it is acceptable for adults to enter toilets of a different sex.

Lets try another example.
I have taken an adult friend out for the day who needs 24 hour care and supervision. Unfortunately the disabled toilets are broken. Do I a) take him into the female toilets with me or b) go into the male toilets with him?

Similar since he likes swimming, when we go swimming, do we go into the a) male changing rooms, b) female changing rooms or c) family changing rooms for parents with children?

Ok well we differ. I don’t think gender ideology is good for women. It puts males in their spaces and sports without consent.

How would any of that take men out of womens spaces, men would still have a GRC and the rights under the GRA that gives, DV refuges still would be under funded and men in abusive relationships could still go to them.

Also, why hasn't, after 13 years, none of what you suggest been done.

As the Govt said, the GRA strikes the right balance and they aren't changing it.
