Genuine question - can trans women experience cramps during their ‘time of the month’?

Picklemeyellow · 29/12/2023 10:42

This is a genuine question as I am baffled.

I looking on Tik Tok last night (don’t judge me, I’m addicted lol)and I notice on my For You section there is often a trans women doing live Q&A’s. I stopped and watched for a while, out of curiosity tbh as DH has a couple of transgender people in his family and I do try to remain as ‘on the fence’ as possible with this subject.

However, this person on TT said something which does not make much sense to me.

They were saying they take HRT and this gives them ‘a time of the month’ when they experience a very emotional dip and have crying spells and feel low etc. I suppose that may make some sense due to the hormones they take but then they went on to say they also experience cramping during this time and started rubbing their lower tummy in the area where a woman’s uterus is located.
It was difficult to establish why this happens because anyone actually questioning this gets blocked and only those agreeing with them get to stay to ask questions! I appreciate they probably receive some very negative replies but blocking doesn’t answer the questions to people who really would like to know.

I genuinely can not understand where the cramps would originate in a person without female anatomy?

As someone who has been under the gynae department for 20+ years, has had to live their live around horrendous periods, has had endless hysteroscopies and uterine polyp removals, ovulation so painful I couldn’t sit properly, a failed uterine ablation, going through an awful perimenopause and now, at 50 only just discovering this is probably all due to the fact I actually have endometriosis and adenomyosis and have been gas lit for all this time having being told that some women just have awful periods etc, I more than understand where my cramps and pain come from. From my shit malfunctioning uterus and hormones which have never been my friend.

But where would a trans woman’s ‘time of the month’ cramps come from? What part of their body cramps due to the addition of female hormones? I’ve tried googling this but there’s very little. Can the hormones cramp the muscles or bowel in this area or something similar?

No female has ever flung themselves backwards on to a bed flinging their arms in the air, so even if they have psychosomatic symptoms, they are wrong.

And also filmed it! What a wanker that man is.

Honestly, those saying that Castor Semenya isn't biologically female (technically she's intersex) don't understand sexual biology. Sex is determined on five factors. 1. External genitalia 2. internal reproductive organs 3. gonads 4. chromosomes 5. hormones and how they work in the body. Castor is: 1. female (born with a vagina) 2. female (born with an undeveloped uterus) 3. male (undeveloped testes) 4. male (XY) 5. male and female (elevated testosterone, no androgen). She was brought up as female and identifies as female. She did not go through male puberty. So she's going to be excluded from female sports because she's male and excluded from male sports because she's female. You're saying she can't use a refuge, or use a female bathroom or changing room and you want that encoded in law.

What about Lyss https://www.tiktok.com/@intersexwitch/video/7277309509171694890? She's the same as Castor Semenya, she not a woman, then? Because her hormones are XY, you're going to say that she's not a woman, can't use the refuge, or swim in the ladies only pool, or use the ladies only gym, or the toilet or the changing room despite having gone through female puberty? There are roughly 136,000,000 intersex people in the world (likely underestimate, as some people don't even know they are intersex).

And children who don't identify with what society tells them is the way they should behave because of their assigned sex, they should be forced into behaving correctly, should they? State should dictate who they are and what they dress in?

Honestly, feminists have fought so long against human rights violations, but seem quite happy to do it to others; even asking to codify discrimination into law and hate against minorities.

My understanding of the word intersex is that most of those to whom it has been applied in the past would prefer that it isn't used now as it causes confusion. Most words that start inter- are for things that fall between two things, so intersex is commonly understood to indicate that the person so described falls between male and female, which is not the case.

I thought Caster Semenya had 5α-Reductase 2 deficiency, which only affects males. If this Wikipedia article is to be relied on, it says 'Affected males still develop typical masculine features at puberty (deep voice, facial hair, muscle bulk) since most aspects of pubertal virilization are driven by testosterone, not 5α-dihydrotestosterone'. This would strongly suggest that the logical place for Caster is in male sport, not female sport.

As for this: And children who don't identify with what society tells them is the way they should behave because of their assigned sex, they should be forced into behaving correctly, should they? State should dictate who they are and what they dress in? You have totally misunderstood the position of those of us who are critical of gender. It's the social conservatives who want gender stereotypes enforced and don't like gender nonconformity. Gender ideologists are happy with it as long as the nonconforming kid identifies as the opposite sex. In other words, both groups believe that gender stereotypes should be enforced.

Most of us on this board have no truck with gender stereotypes at all. If a girl wants to have short hair, wear trousers rather than skirts, study maths and engineering, play football and so on, good for her. If a boy wants to have long hair, play with dolls, show emotion, etc etc - absolutely fine.

Ah we’re at the “but intersex” stage. Strange how people leaping in with that argument never seem to know how often people with Differences of sexual development 1. Prefer DSD or VSD (variations of) rather than intersex as they are not some mysterious third sex 2. How often they have asked repeatedly not to be dragged into this or weaponised as a shield by TRA.

CS is male. The DSD caster has only affects males. CS is not a woman

oh and sex is not assigned at birth by some kind of sorting hat. Sex is observed and recorded.

Such an interesting thread.

I wonder how this will all look in ten or twenty years?
We're in the thick of it all now so I think it's hard to fully understand what's genuinely going on but I often wonder how this time will look to future generations.

You can bet your bottom dollar that a great many of those who are really pushing this now will have total amnesia over their role in pushing this destructive nonsense. Thank goodness the internet never forgets.

NoBinturongsHereMate · 02/01/2024 16:43

elevated testosterone, no androgen

Who, exactly, doesn't understand biology? Testosterone is an androgen.

She was brought up as female and identifies as female.

Incorrect. School photos show him in the boys uniform. He played boys sports (football team, not netball team etc). In his recent autobiography there is a photo of him, age 15, in swimming trunks on a school trip. Would a school at the time have allowed a 15 year old girl to go topless? Would a publisher these days print a photo of a topless 15 year old girl?

Semenya is biologically male. Caster does not have a vagina, technically it's an unvirilised penis.

It is possible with people with 5-ard to father children, but the level of medical assistance needed will vary from patient to patient. It depends in whether their testes produce viable sperm. Some don’t.

We have no idea on whether the children are biologically Casters or not, but as that is private information it’s really none of our business. It has no bearing on Casters sporting career.

Marcus is a transexual, he's covered this (and one of the more irritating videos, with green mini skirt knob) in this YouTube video.

Like all humans, I'm absolutely sure green mini knob gets gut cramps every once in a while. Bad curry, needing a humongous fart or 💩, appendicitis, twisted bowel, too much beer, who knows.

But it's not period pain and the heat pad held to the lower abdomen whilst writhing in agony on a bed and tugging mini skirt down to hide "euphoria" kinda implies it IS, doesn't it.

Marcus is an interesting individual, worth looking at his YT. Facially and vocally I read him as a man, and then his hands make an appearance and its clear those are female hands.

Both Green Mini skirt and their girlfriend come across as knobs. Green mini skirt has no idea what period cramps are like. The faux pain is laughable and like a junior school play.

To truly experience something similar to period pain he should ask someone to shove their hand into his rectum as far as possible, grab any internal organs hanging around and pull hard. Keep pulling for 2 to 3 days. Feel like a woman.

Terfosaurus · 02/01/2024 18:54

I have 2 male children (late teens/ early adult age). Yes I expect them to behave "correctly" for their sex. That means they use men's toilets and changing rooms. They don't show or use their penises to anyone without permission who is aso legally old enough to consent.

Other than that they can wear the clothes they like. Have the hairstyles they like. Like the toys/ hobbies etc that they like. They can use whatever name they like. Their sex doesn't dictate their preferences and anyone who thinks it should would be shot down by them.

INeverForgetAFaceButInYourCaseIdLikeTo · 02/01/2024 18:57

😂😂 Am I correct in thinking that a transwoman is a person who was born male? In that case, he/she won't have a womb or ovaries and would not be able to have periods, cramps or PMT

You are joking right? Trans people and their handmaidens (of both sexes) are so obsessed with behaving "correctly" for ones sex that they think someone behaving "incorrectly" for their sex means that person actually is the opposite sex!

I can't imagine anything more dictatorial when it comes to forcing people into gendered stereotypes than saying if a boy likes stereotypically girl things he must actually be a girl 😖

Rainbowshit · 02/01/2024 19:34

This is Erik Schinegger who has the same DSD as Caster. It ONLY occurs in biological males. Erik has fathered children. It's speculation whether Caster has, but it is possible as we know Caater has internal testes.

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6772989/amp/Intersex-skiing-champion-say-transgender-women-NOT-compete-female-events.html

None of this is relevant to whether biological males can experience periods. It's very clear they can't

No, you've got this arse upwards.

Society should stop pushing regressive stereotypes on children in the first place.

You have clearly never actually listened to any GC arguments (or you’ve listened and completely misunderstood) because what you’ve said here is the polar opposite of what most GC feminists believe. You seem to have confused us with conservatives/religious fundamentalists.
