Genuine question - can trans women experience cramps during their ‘time of the month’?

This is a genuine question as I am baffled.

I looking on Tik Tok last night (don’t judge me, I’m addicted lol)and I notice on my For You section there is often a trans women doing live Q&A’s. I stopped and watched for a while, out of curiosity tbh as DH has a couple of transgender people in his family and I do try to remain as ‘on the fence’ as possible with this subject.

However, this person on TT said something which does not make much sense to me.

They were saying they take HRT and this gives them ‘a time of the month’ when they experience a very emotional dip and have crying spells and feel low etc. I suppose that may make some sense due to the hormones they take but then they went on to say they also experience cramping during this time and started rubbing their lower tummy in the area where a woman’s uterus is located.
It was difficult to establish why this happens because anyone actually questioning this gets blocked and only those agreeing with them get to stay to ask questions! I appreciate they probably receive some very negative replies but blocking doesn’t answer the questions to people who really would like to know.

I genuinely can not understand where the cramps would originate in a person without female anatomy?

As someone who has been under the gynae department for 20+ years, has had to live their live around horrendous periods, has had endless hysteroscopies and uterine polyp removals, ovulation so painful I couldn’t sit properly, a failed uterine ablation, going through an awful perimenopause and now, at 50 only just discovering this is probably all due to the fact I actually have endometriosis and adenomyosis and have been gas lit for all this time having being told that some women just have awful periods etc, I more than understand where my cramps and pain come from. From my shit malfunctioning uterus and hormones which have never been my friend.

But where would a trans woman’s ‘time of the month’ cramps come from? What part of their body cramps due to the addition of female hormones? I’ve tried googling this but there’s very little. Can the hormones cramp the muscles or bowel in this area or something similar?

Theinnocenteyeballsinthesky. I’ve had decades of being palmed off yet someone decides they don’t feel right inside their body and receives help straight away. It’s taken 20+ years to discover I have endometriosis and the same for my sister, who was diagnosed at the age of 44.

No - but like the rest of their delusion, they think it therefore it is 🙄

Do trans identifying females get prostate cancer, I wonder?

CyberCritical · 29/12/2023 10:53

No.

Women experience PMS and other menstrual symptoms because of fluctuations in hormone levels and there are multiple hormones involved. They also have a uterus which needs to contract to expel the lining on a monthly basis.

TW are taking a stable dose of estrogen, there is no fluctuation.

LenaLamont I was wondering the same, it must be psychological?

It's called pretending and they do it for attention.

Yes they do. And often they don't go for prostate checks as they will have changed their sex on NHS records so will be called for breast screenings and cervical checks instead. It's a dangerous business this legal fallacy that people can change sex.

starsparkle08 · 29/12/2023 10:53

Maybe they were constipated or something as they don’t have a womb etc so impossible to have menstrual cramping . Bloody ridiculous

Yes. If they’re struggling with cramps, maybe eating more fibre is the answer.

This stuff is just attention-seeking ridiculousness. Tik tok is full of absolute nonsense.

MistyGreenAndBlue · 29/12/2023 10:57

Firstly they are NOT on HRT. There is no "replacement" of hormones that they never produced naturally in the first place. Lie no 1

Lie no 2 - the cross sex hormones they ARE taking do not cause a "time of the month" as they do not cycle the way natural hormone production does in women.

These are men with a fetish. They do not cramp or bleed or suffer PMT. They DO fetishise menstruation to the point of stealing used bloodied tampons and shoving them up their arse - they don't even try to hide that they do this.
Playing at having a "time of the month" is just a part of this. It's disgusting and offensive but apparently we are all transphobic bigots for being unhappy about this. 🤷‍♀️

stepintochristmas1 · 29/12/2023 10:57

I have been through menopause , still have ovaries and uterus have had hrt . Nope no more periods not even fantasy periods because my uterus does not contract any more . Are all us women on hrt missing something ??

Maybe they think real women don’t fart, so it’s pain from holding in the wind.

👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

No they cannot OP. Not biologically possible. But in their delusional minds? Of course! Anything goes! But I wonder if they can suddenly multitask like a woman? 🤔😆

I’m getting sick & tired of this BS.

I try my hardest to remain impartial as dh’s two great-nieces have a transgender parent. Dh has another neice who is transitioning so I try to understand their struggles but the more I look into it the more baffled I am tbh. I am leaning towards it being a fetish/mental health issue.

That's because despite the ridiculous claims, the world does actually know what an actual women is.

That's why your medical needs are ignored and dismissed.

This neatly demonstrates how the obfuscation of language has resulted in misinformation all over the place.

@IIdentifyAsInnocent - a trans-identifying female is a woman who feels like a man. Not a transwoman (i.e. a male). So she can never get prostate cancer because she doesn’t have one. Your point is valid, but as you can see, the terminology causes confusion even among people who think about these things. For people who don’t, it’s a minefield of misunderstanding.

Stresa22 · 29/12/2023 10:59

They have gas.

AIstolemylunch · 29/12/2023 10:59

They don't have a cycle. They take wrong sex hormones in the same dose every day. Hence, no 'time.of the month'. Women have a complete monthly cycling of multiple hormones (many not involved in cross sex hormone treatment) designed to mature an egg, release it and reset if it is not fertilized to turn into a pregnancy. men have none of this.

Tbh I'm quite surprised some of the period fetishists haven't demanded differing daily doses to try and badly mimic this and give them some sort of hormonal symptoms from transitioning between high and low levels, but I think it would just make them feel nauseous. They don't have a uterus so have nothing to cramp or shed lining from to cause a period. The only smooth muscle men can experience cramping in is their gut so I expect most of them are just having a large fatty meal and a load of alcohol the night before.

Don't even get me started, took 3 yrs of only having a period every 6 to 8 months before I was able to get the GP to agree to any kind of testing. Lo and behold hormone panel and ultrasound showed PCOS. At which point I was told there is nothing they can do for me I just have to lose weight. Woman has woman's problem = no help. Man fakes woman's problem = medical ducking marvel let's throw everything we can at it.

Bastards male chauvinistic sexist grumble grumble grumble

LakeTiticaca · 29/12/2023 11:02

You don't often hear of transmen claiming to have prostate issues.
I wonder why that is

Deebee90 · 29/12/2023 11:02

They will never ever ever have cramps because none of them are women and will never ever be. I don’t care how much surgery you have or how many tablets you take you cannot change the gender you were born. This country is a joke for submitting down to people like this. They need therapy not praise.

AlisonDonut · 29/12/2023 11:02

They don't have a 28 day cycle, so no month, no time of the month and no period cramps.

What they have is a [redacted].

They might buy a takeout meal on payday that gives them the shits of course. But that's the closest they are likely to get.

Mentally constipated. Honesty so sick of this we cannot even have cramps to ourselves. WHat I would not GIVE for a man to have menstral cramps, get prgnant, be able to suffer through labour etc but no it is not fukcing viable cos they are NOT women.

I am actually exhaustipated with it all now.

AIstolemylunch · 29/12/2023 11:03

TL,DR they are pretending, as part of their fetish.
