Couldn't sleep so come downstairs.

The only thing I wanted for Christmas is a fleecy cushion with arms. DH spotted one in Tesco yesterday and bought it home for me

The dog has ralphed on it!

Not the best start to the morning!

Oh!! I'm sorry, I honestly didn't chuckle!

Merry Christmas, enjoy the peace whilst it lasts - I am!

I could be heard hissing quietly at the little fucker!

I'm just sat quietly, the DS's won't be up for hours (15 and (16)

I still remember the childhood Christmas I was sitting on my mum and dad's bed at godawful o' clock, so excited to be opening my presents from Father Christmas that I puked all over the beautiful, brand new special teddy I'd just unwrapped as well as my pyjamas and all their bedclothes. My poor mum and dad, and poor you, too — vomit is no way to start a Christmas 😓 I hope it gets better from here!

Yiayoula · 25/12/2023 05:49

Things can only get better from here, OP !

Hope you have a lovely Christmas ( and that the cushion is washable …..).

Awrite · 25/12/2023 05:50

Merry Christmas @fatandhappy47 ! The only way is up, that's the good news.

I'm awake and I have hours to wait as one teen said to the other last night that he better not wake her before 9am. He talked her down to 8 thankfully.

Those cushions are fab by the way.

Mrsjayy · 25/12/2023 05:50

oh no poor you ! im not out of bed yet so day hasnt started im also wanting a fleece blanket ill keep the dog away !

fatandhappy47 · 25/12/2023 05:51

@Raxacoricofallapatorian

I was wrapping stocking last night and reminiscing with my BD about the year he ate all of his stocking chocolate and then proceeded to throw it all back up in the back of the car!

Morning and Merry Christmas!

Also couldn’t sleep (and needed a wee!) so I’m up for the day. I hear some movement upstairs but with the kids being 12 & 14 I highly suspect it’s DP.

Mainly awake with Mum guilt as present pile is small this year, especially for DD, who has already been told she doesn’t have much. She doesn’t care but I really do.

There's just something about Christmas 🙄

fatandhappy47 · 25/12/2023 05:53

@Awrite teens here too, so just enjoying the peace!

@Trinity69 our pile is small this year as well, kids aren't bothered at all (we must both have raised good ones) but seeing friends SM has made me feel guilty.

I woke up at 0445. We have DSS11 and he is still sleeping and probably will until 10am.

I think I'll get up and walk the pooches in a minute when the house warms up.

GoodnightJude1 · 25/12/2023 05:57

I was up at 5am. Just me and DH at home today (everyone here tomorrow)
So I’m enjoying a cup of coffee in peace while Ddog snores loudly. I’ll take him for a walk about 7am then come and wake DH up and do us a nice breakfast. Pub with all our friends from 12-3 then home to watch rubbish tele and prep for tomorrow.

Have a lovely day everyone, whatever you’re doing!

oh please dont feel guilty i know that feeling though of i shouldve padded it out, but the padding out is just tatt really just let let it go and be glad nobody has puked 😀

Mrsjayy · 25/12/2023 05:59

@GoodnightJude1 your day sounds lovely, its just us today first time in about 30 years so it will be quiet wish we had thought of the pub.

Mummyofthewildones · 25/12/2023 06:00

Been awake since 04.30! Downstairs having a coffee, DP is also up now and we are lighting the fire before DD4 and DS2 wake and the chaos commences!

fatandhappy47 · 25/12/2023 06:01

@Mrsjayy

Time is short, go to the pub!

Morning all,
We're up. Dogs usually wake at 5. Son is 15 so he will be in bed for a while yet. We will take dogs on a forest walk soon.

Hope the cushion is washable!

Lizzt2007 · 25/12/2023 06:03

Still in bed but wide awake. Don't need to be up till 8ish and no kids till lunchtime so could have slept in but nooo, here I am !! Looking forward to a wonderful day with very loved friends and family though, so I'm laid here extremely content .

ours is only open for food sadly or I might have !

Dontsparethehorses · 25/12/2023 06:04

Maybe this is the year of not padding out - our present pile is small but I think that must happen naturally as kids get older perhaps? Have a lovely Christmas op - if it doesn’t wash I’d nip to Tesco in a few days and treat myself guilt free!!

InMySpareTime · 25/12/2023 06:04

I made myself sleep until 5 then came downstairs to open my Christmas jigsaw. I bought it and wrapped it so I could be absolutely sure of something to do for the 4 hours until anyone else wakes up.
I have a pot of tea, a jigsaw, chocolate and Christmas music. Today is good so far.
There's not much in the way of presents for later, as both the adult DC's work schedules don't align until January (when we'll open their presents together), but there's definitely Lindor and a dress pattern in there

FcukTheDay · 25/12/2023 06:15

Have been up since 5, all four DC still asleep. Just remembered that I forgot the stuffing! No one else likes it except me, isn't it always the way?!

Present pile smaller here too but after torturing myself about it all night, I have come to the acceptance that it is what it is.

mrsjg · 25/12/2023 06:17

Merry Christmas 🎄

I've been awake for an hour or so, and am now downstairs in front of the fire having a quiet hour to myself. Only me, dh and adult ds in the house so it won't be the chaotic and hectic day as it once was.

wlv12 · 25/12/2023 06:19

Morning all!
