I'm in the US. What amazes me is the number of UK posters who state they do not drive. These are fully grown adults who do not have the capacity to take themselves from one place to another in an automobile.

If you live is a big city having a car is more of an expensive headache rather than something useful (parking, petrol, congestion charge, insurance, MOT, etc etc). Driving test is VERY different to the one in the US - about 10 times more complicated. You can get anywhere by public transport or taxis (there are a lot of option). Also, walking.

I do have a driving license but had not driven for 15 years since moving to London as literally had no need for it.

For me, most shocking threads are along these lines: my DP earns 10 times more than I do, he wants us to co-habit and wants to buy a house I will have no claim to but I have to give all my savings for deposit, he says I need to quit work to look after our kids and he will support me but he will not tell me how much he earns and we will not have a joint bank account. And later on - He treats me like free servant/ sex slave, has affairs and spend all money on himself, I'm stuck at home barely surviving on peanuts but I cant leave as I have no money/ job and kids are used to expensive lifestyle.

There were several posters on here at different stages of this "wonderful" arrangement - before and after kids. Always makes me wonder how delusional some people are when there's money involved.

Recently a poster asking why disabled children need to go school , as they won't work and don't they just need a 'holding pen' and doesn't most people have this view!!

having a disabled child myself that Is super upsetting.

Someone actually posted that? Jesus wept.

Why would that shock you? Unless you're being ironic...

Because it would feel all kinds of wrong to me not to wear knickers under my PJs and I naively didn’t think about people not doing that.

I used to wear knickers under pyjamas or nightie. I kept getting thrush. You've got to air things out while you can.

It's also much more comfortable! In the summer, I go naked in bed. Very comfortable and liberating. I mean, when else?

localnotail · 21/12/2023 23:04

Why would you wear knickers under PJs? Unless you are having a period. Do you make your kids wear underwear under PJs, too? So weird.

Boomboom22 · 21/12/2023 23:25

How can you wear pj's without knickers? The seam would go all sorts of places. I find it just as weird as suggesting jeans without pants tbh.

You need to get a more comfortable PJs, if they have the same feel as your jeans they are not right. Should be soft and comfy. Like, for example, try putting some good quality leggings on without underpants. Heaven. ))

I was on a thread about this and was told 'discharge'. I replied 'what discharge?' but PP didn't respond.

Like periods, discharge varies between women. Some women may have so little it's unnoticeable others may need to use panty liners daily, especially around ovulation.

Boomboom22 · 21/12/2023 23:58

I sleep in pants only. It would be so weird and threatening to sleep totally naked. Even after sex I'd put new pants on!

Exactly - I did have a car in London, but the battery kept going flat through lack of use (once every 6 weeks or so). So I sold it.

I’m perfectly capable of driving, I just don’t need to where I live.

PJs are a lot looser fitting though... the seam wouldn't be a problem unless the pjs were too tight, I think. At any rate, I've never had that problem and my PJs are quite loose-fitting.

Didsomeonesaydogs · 22/12/2023 00:23

Surely, if you don’t wear underpants under your jammies, you’d need to wash your nightwear daily, like you do with underwear? Or am I missing something?

Firefly2009 · 22/12/2023 00:31

You're missing that pyjamas are looser than knickers.

That poster has bothered me for years and I could not remember his name, but you’re right!

A despicable twat of a man.

I'm pretty sure the thread was deleted. By then it was all over Twitter as an example of how MNers are all Nazis, of course.

Pyjamas that are so loose they don’t come into contact with your arse don’t exist. If you’re not wearing pants with your pyjamas then wearing them more than once isn’t hygienic.

According to you, everyone wearing pyjamas more than once without knickers is unhygienic.

Okay.

Not content to just leave it alone that people are all different, are you?
Thanks for pyjama hygiene policing.

nameychangio675 · 22/12/2023 03:03

Pyjama police 😂😂😂😂

Downunderduchess · 22/12/2023 05:00

I’m fascinated that so many people cannot seem to fathom that we have differences and make a huge deal out of insignificant issues such as whether or not you wear any undies to bed. Some posters have seemed almost apoplectic at opinions opposing their own. And as for the cheese ‘n’ choking derailments, wow…

well I don't wear PJs - I sleep in my underwear - but I do wash my kid's PJs every day, maybe every other day sometime. They have about 5 sets each.

That was my point. It hadn't occurred to PP that bodies are different and some women would not need knickers or panty liners.

SpaghettiSauceOnTheCarpet · 22/12/2023 07:22

I once had a sleepover at a friends when I was little. Friends mum was aghast that I didn’t wear knickers. Not for hygiene reasons but incase the house burned down and the fire brigade caught you with no knickers on!
