Right , I've reported all the sex rubbish back and forth as it's against guidelines to derail an entire thread !
There is a sex topic , please go there to discuss it !
Even the cheese was less derailing and boring than this !

How is correcting a poster’s false statements about the law a sex board topic?

I agree that the subject of sex has taken over, and I wish it hadn’t, but what I and another poster wanted to do was just make clear that spreading legal myths - whatever they’re about - is a bad thing. 🤷‍♀️

jeffgoldblum · 20/12/2023 12:02

That's not the topic of the thread .

HebeMumsnet · 20/12/2023 12:14

Afternoon everyone. We can see that this thread has gone a little off topic and become very focused on one issue. While that's an important conversation, too, it is rather detracting from the OP's original post now.

Could we draw a line under that for now and get back to the original post? We're absolutely happy for another thread to be started about this elsewhere on the boards. It's certainly a topic that merits discussion. Thanks, all! Flowers

For the poster who was looking for the birdie friend thread:

Did the OP ever come back?

jeffgoldblum · 20/12/2023 12:19

Many thanks @HebeMumsnet 💐

stepintochristmas1 · 20/12/2023 12:25

So , cheese ?

I have a feeling she might have, but under a different name. But not sure!

stepintochristmas1 · 20/12/2023 12:25

So , cheese ?

Do you mean cheese as defined by the Cheese and Matured Milk Products Regulations 1983?

THAT’S A JOKE. I WILL NOT BE POSTING ABOUT CHEESE OR THE LAW.

Just to be clear.

Yeah I'd like to read the 2nd thread she said she was starting

I couldn’t find any other threads under that username. Maybe she namechanged and started a new thread, in which case it would be difficult to find.

No probs.
It was a strange read though, thanks for posting it.
I personally would have thrown it away 😁

weemou · 20/12/2023 13:37

I've not got to the end of this thread yet, but it's reminded me of a thread a long time ago, maybe 13 years where a heavily pregnant woman (like 8-9 months) had a cat stuck up a tree in her garden. The cat wasn't hers, and she had been in contact with rspca to ask what she should do, and I think that's why she was posting, to see if anyone else had any ideas about how to coax it down. She had been told not to attempt to rescue if, as this often makes the cat go higher up.

There were some posters on the thread that were so awful to her, and giving her an absolute roasting about not climbing this tree when she was about to give birth, even though she had been told by rspca not to do it. It went on for ages and the woman kept saying "I'd probably try if I wasn't so pregnant ", and the posters were giving her the most awful hard time.

That's how I learned that some posters on Mumsnet are batshit, which is a real shame because some are amazing!

OMG again you are just implying that all us women who like certain things are absolute numbskulls.

If you don't understand implications for other women then you are one.

HolyZarquonsSingingSeals · 20/12/2023 13:46

I have just found out from Mumsnet that you can have your pet's cremated ashes made into jewellery. I'm still gagging a bit, to be honest.

There was one during covid with a woman complaining that Tesco didn't deliver in bags anymore and how was she supposed to get her shopping to the kitchen as they wouldn't wait an hour while she indivually put one item away at a time.

Every poster came on and said unpack in the hall and put away at leisure or just give them carrier bags at the door to pack the stuff up.

Every suggestion was no good and went on about having no storage space for a couple of carrier bags. Couldn't work out if it was a troll or someone with severe issues brought on by lockdown.

😂 at the delivery man waiting for her to put her groceries away while he handed them to her 1 by 1

Also breast milk and other bodily fluids… I may also have gagged a bit at the idea of people out there (mostly women, let’s be honest) making jewellery out of semen! 😱

Why? its INCREDIBLY common... they do it with human ashes too.

You can also have the tattooed into you or put into a teddy bear etc...

Yes! Some use loved ones' ashes in galaxy paintings too

I can't remember her name, but the lovely poster who fostered a child who was born from a drug addicted mother. It was heartbreaking and so wonderful at the same time. So much love born out of such sad circumstances. I think she died also. I wonder how the child is doing now.

This was EMIN ( earth mother I'm not) I think of her often, wonderful woman.

Interesting.

I have always thought of 'American" A the United States of America. I would never include Mexico or Canada, only the 49 States (including Alaska, excluding Hawaii) located on the continent of North America, and the District of Columbia.

Do you mean Americas the continent? But then they are North America and South America.

What 7 countries make up North America?

  • United States (56.3%)
  • Mexico (21.3%)
  • Canada (6.4%)
  • Guatemala (3.0%)
  • Haiti (1.9%)
  • Dominican Republic (1.9%)
  • Cuba (1.9%)

I dont know what I think after some googling, I am more confused!

Weirdly I grew up being taught that N. America and S. America don't exist, it's just America.

It's since changed in my home country's curriculum but does point to how vague the concept of 'continent' actually is.

And I do get a bit annoyed that one country can somehow claim an entire continent name as its demonym. It feels like "European" meaning only Russian or something.

I read her Thread on Tuesday, I started reading it till the end. What an amazing human being she was. I cried many tears so selfless and her husband too. Also to all of those who supported her till the end 🧡 LO will be 13 now, I hope she is doing well.

@HRTQueen why are you so obsessed with what people want to do in the privacy of their own bedrooms? And trying to convince people what they like and don't like?

I personally really enjoy it, I've not been forced to do it by any partners, it doesn't come from over reliance on porn, and I've not been conditioned it any way by the patriarchy or by believing the 'lies'

I just like having anal sex 🤷‍♀️

Ah yes this recent wave of teenage girls suddenly having anal prolapses much just be a fucking coincidence and not at all related to the prevalence of available harmful to women porn.

istoodonlegoagain · 20/12/2023 16:09

A poster needed a third bedroom in London for her pet hamster, as it wasn't fair to put him in communal rooms as he didn't like noise. Peak mumsnet 🤣
