*I have worked in care and I will say far more women than men do this in my experience. Usually when asleep, men tend to wake up a bit more probably due to prostate discomfort.

Its most common in med confusion, dementia or recently relocated. You often find people are subconsciously retracing the path to the bathroom in their childhood home or the home they lived in longest. The interesting places woman managed to pee seemingly defied physics sometimes.

Alcohol is essentially a poison/drug that gives the same 'confusion' and 'sleepiness' effect especially in chronic drinkers.*

Thanks housethatbuiltme - yes that does make sense in dementia and when affected by drugs. But isn't that a bit different from just being drunk? I mean I regularly drank too much in my 20s and sometimes rolled home very out of it. I have never, ever weed anywhere inside my home except the toilet - and nor has any man I've lived with. This is healthy, working age, normal men with young families, not people in a nursing home. That's why it shocks me - I just can't imagine it.

I remember a long running saga concerning a poster and her relationship with her teenage daughter. Daughter appeared to be, well, ‘challenging’ (had apparently been known to demolish her bedroom) and one of the posts described how the mother had, in response to the latest eruption, stripped the bedroom of all home comforts save for a bed and blanket and confined the girl to her room.

At this point, other posters started to challenge the OP on what she was doing. She was always a prickly and difficult character but her defensiveness veered towards personal abuse, leaving me reflecting on how toxic relationships are often a two way street and the real victim is not always who you think.

WetTowelsWillRemainOnFloorWhereTheyHaveBeenLeft · 19/12/2023 23:52

@Weddingpuzzle I remember that one too. It was so distressing to read.
Thank you for that fund raising. Thank you again. It’s such a good job that there are people like you in life who take action and get things done rather than getting upset and wringing their hands but not actually knowing what to do.

Who in God’s name was that judge, I wonder. And are they still practising.

Who at any point said it was the MAN fetish?

Or even that the was any man involved at all? (you know lesbians can be kinky too right?)

A lot of women deal unhealthily with mental anguish by harming themselves like getting eating disorders, anorexia, cutting or harmful sexual behaviour.

You can all be mad and report me but it does not change the fact that choking is 100% unsafe. It is dangerous and it's not "kinky" it's a form of self harm.

The misinformation about "kinky" sex is astonishing and it is always, always bad for women.

The same thing with anal. It's so normalised and prolific in porn that most people, especially women who should know, are ignorant to the fact that women are not build like men. When it comes to anal women suffer quicker tears and damage with long lasting consequences. It's bad for women. To the point that more and more girls and women end up in the hospital with anal tears or anal incontinence.

The whole BDSM scene was made by degenerate men to please degenerate men.

Rise in popularity of anal sex has led to health problems for women

Incontinence, bleeding and STIs among the consequences, say two surgeons, who want doctors to have open chats with patients on the topic

Yes one wonders just who perpetuates the idea that anal sex for women is just as enjoyable and not at all painful and as safe as vaginal sex if done correctly …

it’s certainly not women

HRTQueen · 20/12/2023 01:27

Sad thing is I have heard many women say this

so many lies that so many women take on as fact anal sex is as safe, strangulation (even ridiculously called breath play) is safe if done correctly

both are absolute lies told by men to manipulate women into believing this for their enjoyment. If women really want to engage in anal sex or strangulation they absolutely have to understand the dangers and sadly few young women do as it’s become so normalised, it’s extremely worrying

The dog stealing and dumping is the one I always remember too. It wasn't students, I can't remember the exact username but the poster was a man and the username was a man's name/had a man's name in it. I remember that because every time I saw it on another thread after that one I thought how much I despised him. I continue to wish him all the worst to this day.

Was it Andrew or John? Something like that?

Absolutely true. It's horrifying that's strangling someone can be called breath play as though everyone is having a great time when the woman could easily be killed

@hangingonfordearlife1 I'm glad someone said it 🤣

pickledandpuzzled · 20/12/2023 07:00

I remember the username AndrewofOgg, but missed the dog thread. Does anyone know if the dog ever made it home? What a callous man.

MRSMTO · 20/12/2023 07:28

@Outwiththenorm I'm not a man, lovey. I'm just a woman with a differing view to you. Is that okay?

You know that not all women prefer the same things sexually don't you?

Now, I can let other peoples opinions go over the top of my head, I'll even agree with some, but for a woman (I'm assuming you are a woman - same as me yay!) to assume that another woman with different views must be a man is frankly ridiculous and bordering on offensive.

We don't agree, that's fine, but that doesn't make me a man!

waves back at woman with different opinions, tastes and preferences 🙄

Trigger warning: graphic descriptions of sexual violence in the below link.

Those debating what one can or cannot consent to might find this interesting: https://www.lancaster.ac.uk/law/blog/how-the-law-enables-the-use-of-the-so-called-rough-sex-defence-despite-r-v-brown#:~:text=In%20their%20judgment%2C%20they%20held,ruled%2C%20is%20no%20such%20exception.

It is just a blog on a uni website so doesn’t go into it in huge detail - but it is an interesting insight into some of the case law on sadomasochism, unintentional violence, consent and the law.

Not for the faint of heart. Slingsby stays with me some 15 years after law school…

Slingsby stayed with me too. As does Meachen. There are details in that case that I wish I'd never read.

InAMess2023 · 20/12/2023 08:47

@HRTQueen why are you so obsessed with what people want to do in the privacy of their own bedrooms? And trying to convince people what they like and don't like?

I personally really enjoy it, I've not been forced to do it by any partners, it doesn't come from over reliance on porn, and I've not been conditioned it any way by the patriarchy or by believing the 'lies'

I just like having anal sex 🤷‍♀️

nameychangio675 · 20/12/2023 08:49

Genuinely baffled by the anal sex thing. What is enjoyable about it?

jeffgoldblum · 20/12/2023 08:50

I imagine because posters apparently like to come on and tell us about their sex lives!
I personally don't want to know what you like in bed and I'm sure others don't either!

SpaghettiSauceOnTheCarpet · 20/12/2023 08:52

Utterly shocking that people will continue to argue black is white when faced with enormous evidence to the contrary. I think a poster up thread said it also the “well it has never happened to me so it must never ever happen and that means I am right and you are wrong” argument.

I've lived alone for decades, I always open the door - as did my late DM (and every other woman I know). Where I live people don't have to make appointments to visit other people. UK society must be awful if it's dangerous to open your door when alone in the house.

It's not about being dangerous, people just don't want to be hassled by cold callers claiming to be down the road cleaning someone's driveway and having time to do yours at an extortionate price.

If people are good, they get work via work of mouth/social media.

If they are new, they can put flyers through the door.

nobody needs to cold call to sell their wares. So I don't answer the door.

Last week I had someone knock on the door even though it was obvious I was on the phone. I did answer the door, said "I'm on the phone" and closed the door again. Their need to bother me is not more important than my need to work!

enchantedsquirrelwood · 20/12/2023 09:12

As far as I can see, what’s been said about the law on strangulation during sex is quite wrong. It’s not outlawed at all. And there has never been a ‘choking’ or ‘rough sex’ defence to murder or any other charge. It’s an issue of fact, not law

Have you read the thread - I posted the link to the government source saying that it was going to be made illegal. Check government press releases, it is mainly about spiking but is covered in the very last line.

I know we have a rubbish government, but a government press release is a pretty good source, I would have thought.
