Just that really.. (Kind of lighthearted/maybe not!)

I love the arse wiping, sit down /stand up debate. I genuinely find it fascinating. I didn’t know there were people who stood up to wipe their backside until a few years ago. It was like discovering a new secret society or something. 🤣

MN has also taught us that there are people out there who take every last stitch of their clothes off before they use the toilet.

If you're seriously worried about besmirching your bowtie or trainer socks when you're having a poo, you really aren't 'doing toilet' that successfully, absent any relevant mental or physical health conditions.

pickledandpuzzled · 19/12/2023 14:21

@Blanca87 imagine my surprise to find one of my DS’s is one of them!

One of the most shocking things about MN is how poor some people's grasp of sex education is! There are threads from people who have sex without contraception and can't understand how they got pregnant - quite often, they mention that they're in their thirties. It's the sort of thing I would have expected from teenagers in Alabama who've only had abstinence-only education.

I've seen a few threads where the OP has confidently waded in with affirming that they've been using the 'withdrawal method' - which is about as successful as using the 'avoiding the cracks in the pavement method' to prevent bad luck.

Blanca87 · 19/12/2023 14:23

@pickledandpuzzled 🤣 🤣🤣

A horse who was operated on and had part of his tongue amputated because he stuck it out during dressage competitions. This means that the horse/rider could not achieve many marks as it would had it not had its tongue poking out. It made me sick.

WTF??? Surely not. What vet would do this to an otherwise perfectly healthy horse?

Thelnebriati · 19/12/2023 14:27

I wondered about that, fell down an internet rabbit hole after reading that comment and its true.

Horriblewoman · 19/12/2023 14:28

Not the worst by a long shot but I think it was maybe a thread about weird places you’ve had sex and a woman mentioned her and her husband had done it in her child’s hospital room, I want to say on Valentine’s Day.

Gwenhwyfar · 19/12/2023 14:28

"They can fill up on potatoes and things like that but they're not getting double portions of dessert and special foods unless and until the women have had their fill!"

That's fair enough. That kind of food is not for filling up.

What's that in reference to?

Xiaoxiong · 19/12/2023 14:17

@Gwenhwyfar you evidently haven't seen the penis portion outrage threads on here over the years... For a long time I thought the fact that DH did no exercise and I did would mean we could eat the same portions, but I was wrong so I now serve penis portions too.

Oh yes, I have and I always point out that it's wrong. I don't understand how people can lack common sense on the issue though.

SoreAndTired1 · 19/12/2023 14:32

VolvoFan · 19/12/2023 12:31

I guess the entire BDSM industry needs shutting down, then. You might want to start by campaigning to get shops like Ann Summers to stop selling kink and BDSM products.

Kink and BDSM doesn't usually tend to involve cutting off a person's airways and the risk of death.

Custardslices · 19/12/2023 14:33

This!!

The entire thread. All of it!!

Shocked me to the core!!

People whose answer to any kind of neighbour issue or anti-social behaviour is 'just move', as if moving were a practical, cost-neutral and straightforward option for virtually everyone.

Ha! This has reminded me of my other pet hate. When someone is suffering some kind of mental health problem and a load of posters tell them that all they need to do is
a) contact their GP
b) promptly accept the thorough, appropriate and timely treatment plan offered
c) thus 'recover' from said mental health problem so they are no longer an issue for others

All this ignores the fact that GPs are in short supply and rarely have good understanding of mental health, psychologists, psychiatrists and therapists are in short supply and underfunded, and that many treatments if you can even get them are at best a sticking plaster and at worse unsuccessful for serious long term mental illness.

Some people live in their own little delusional world.......

How.... how (and why ???) just cant get my head round this. Do they have no bum cheeks ? How do they clean themselves properly ?
These are the same people who are leaving the little chocolate kisses on white bed sheets 😖

Anyone using a douche for non medical purposes ie. 'to just feel fresh'. Usually, but not always, American posters.

Name and shame or it didn't happen.

Lots of WTF moments on here.

I am regularly shocked by people who do not read the entire thread, make massive assumptions on what they have half read and are very abusive to the OP and usually on threads where the OP is being abused at home.

This.

Day to day, yes. But on a special occasion like Christmas where food is about more than just fuel, it's polite to serve everyone roughly similar portions and then they can have more if they want. Deciding for guests how much they should eat is just weird.

StrawberryJellyBelly · 19/12/2023 14:54

honeysuckleweeks · 19/12/2023 10:07

I completely believed Pamela and Clare's mum. That it's possible that one or both were a troll is definitely the most shocking thing I've red on MN , and I'm not at all convinced that either were.

Clare was a real person. Her mum is my cousin who I’d had no contact with for 50 years till I read the story and thought to myself - this sounds like G. So I got in touch and it was my cousin. I said to her - if you are in Ninewells I’m pretty sure you’re my cousin. And it was.

Blanca87 · 19/12/2023 14:57

@Lakeyloo you are asking the same questions I ruminate on on a regular (and probably unhealthy ) basis. I don’t understand the physicality or efficacy of wiping that way. When I read OP’s where the partner painfully writes her husband has left shit stains on their towels/bedding , I internally say to myself, I bet he’s a stander-upper…

pickledandpuzzled · 19/12/2023 15:00

Maybe the standeruppers that leave marks grow into the must have a shower after a poo people.

The mind boggles, seriously. Why would you need clothes off? Not doing toilet successfully is right🤣😆🤣

One poster loves being choked during sex and will not understand why this is not really OK as part of sex. Extremely shocking. And they are not even that young, almost 30? They had kids too.

A number of posters have said two consensual adults should be able to practice strangulation during sex as it's not affecting anyone else.

This isn't the case if something goes wrong. There are children involved!!!!

(Slightly different but look at the trail of devastation the death of Michael Hutchence left after what was thought may have been a sexual act)!

CatherinedeBourgh · 19/12/2023 15:13

Leah5678 · 19/12/2023 12:14

Haha this reminds me of a thread on Facebook where someone insisted people from the USA should be called "Unitedstatians" 😂😂😂
Because "America" is the continent. I'm pretty sure if someone was talking about the continent they'd specify "north America" or "south America "
Grammar Nazis smh

In an American country I lived in they called them Yankees.

Yes, auto erotic asphyxiation often goes wrong and ends in death.

But the worst thing about strangulation (and I do not believe any woman would ever get sexual pleasure from being stranged)? Is that now, a man has foolproof way of murdering women. Strangle her, then claim it was 'rough sex gone wrong'. Have people not realised this is the perfect cover for murdering women?
