I spent all day exhausted and dying for bed, come upstairs and found a new lease of life. I have the dog beside me, laptop here, netflix on, glass of wine on the go and I have to be up at 7.30 tomorrow.

I'm a nightowl and my husband works for us both + no kids so these are my wind down and watch some movies hours, just made some midnight rice 👀

monsteramunch · 06/12/2023 00:45

Waiting to do a late feed but she's starting to go a bit longer between feeds so I'm tempted to actually attempt to go to sleep now and I might be able to get a couple of hours in before I start the merry go round again...

Also have anxiety for no reason. Not actually stressed or upset, my body just seems to be!

Letsrunabath · 06/12/2023 00:45

I’ve watched Wickerman and then had to watch selling sunset so I wouldn’t have nightmares.

Draconis · 06/12/2023 00:45

I've been snoozing on the sofa and now I've finally managed to get to bed, I need to wind down.

Wallabyone · 06/12/2023 00:46

I've had a really busy day, and I feel a bit wired. I've just emptied the dishwasher and remembered that I need to sort the elves 😂

Draconis · 06/12/2023 00:46

And I have to get up at 6.30 waah.

MrsMerryMistletoe · 06/12/2023 00:47

Retired and lead a bit of a student life - go to bed late and get up late!

witchypaws · 06/12/2023 00:48

Night owl so normal for me! Alarm set for 7.15

Itsmychristmasdress · 06/12/2023 00:49

I have to sleep on the couch 5 nights per week because I snore and I hate it. So I avoid going to bed. I am a zombie.

Pussygaloregalapagos · 06/12/2023 00:50

Was supposedly working - but fairly ineffectively til about 11pm. Then when I get in bed I like to have a nice catch up on the news in my industry, a bit of a stalk of colleagues etc on Linkedin followed by a bit of an escapist mumsnet time for half an hour or so. Luckily the amusements of the AIBU tonight have not really caught my interest so I will probably close down machine shortly, pop a useless pill and sleep a bit. Alarm goes off at 6.30 here too.

FatLarrysBanned · 06/12/2023 00:50

I have to travel away for a few days for work tomorrow. DD13 is ASD and having a meltdown about me being away. She'll be with her dad but she doesn't deal with any change to her routine well and that includes me being part of it. She'll be awake all night now, in and out of my room for cuddles and crying. I try and remember that this is harder for her than me, but I can't say that I'm not looking forward to 3 uninterrupted nights sleep in a lovely hotel.

daisydalrymple · 06/12/2023 00:51

I work in hospitality, so got home an hour ago. I need to wind down before going to bed, as no matter how tired I am the minute my head hits the pillow I’m wide awake. So am watching the holiday, have had a mini Prosecco and beencolouring in toilet roll as a snowman for the elf’s antics tonight 🤦🏻‍♀️😍

KenAdams · 06/12/2023 00:51

I was watching the last in the season of Virgin River

vodkaredbullgirl · 06/12/2023 00:51

Night shift and I've got a banging headache, come outside for some fresh air and boy is it cold.

CleoKitten · 06/12/2023 00:53

Sudocrem. Brilliant for them. I have actually just recommended it in another thread.

A combination of things here. 20+ years of night shifts have well and truly screwed up my body clock anyway, but currently in some discomfort from my second knee replacement op a couple of weeks ago. I think I'll treat myself to some tea, toast and codeine. 😁

StrawberryJellyBelly · 06/12/2023 01:03

It’s almost 5am where I am and my alarm will go off then. But I’ve been awake for two hours anyway. I’m full of the cold and have something on my mind and as soon as I’m back from getting two of my grandchildren up and ready for school I’m going back to bed and having a very lazy day till it’s time to collect them from school. I’m also going to stop at a local cafe on the way home and buy one of their lamingtons to have with a cuppa.

StrawberryJellyBelly · 06/12/2023 01:05

@LQNavarro I had one done 10 months ago and I hope you feel better soon.

MonsterRehab23 · 06/12/2023 01:07

Total night owl. Was feeling tired at 9pm, now full of energy. Luckily I’m able to start work at 10 so I’ll sleep as late as I possibly can (around 7.50). However each working day I moan how tired I am, moan about having to work later to compensate for my late start, promise myself I’ll get an early night and start work for 8… only to repeat the vicious cycle.

I do think it could be work stress/anxiety related, coupled with just needing an hour or so to myself to decompress. Interestingly I go to bed much earlier on the weekends.

bex657 · 06/12/2023 01:07

I'm on a night shift!

GotTheTshirtx1000 · 06/12/2023 01:10

I have fibromyalgia so my sleep pattern is very unpredictable, I ended up napping from 630pm until 8.15pm so now I'm awake. Hopefully I'll go to sleep soon.

Lisad1975 · 06/12/2023 01:13

My 9 year old has just thrown up ☹️ only twice and fallen back to sleep . Cleaned all up but now wide awake and can smell it still . Will have to take tomoro off work tho I dont think she has a bug but hey ho

merrykittymass · 06/12/2023 01:15
