One opinion that you have that will never waver, no matter what?..

OP posts:

That the Oxford comma should be more widely understood and used.

That dogs (excepting guide dogs) should not be allowed in shops or places serving food.

That "be kind" has to work both ways.

That a dislike of MSG is uneducated and inherently racist.

What is MSG? To me, it means monosodium glutamate. Why is disliking it racist? Or do you mean something else?

The death penalty does not prevent murders, but it does cut down on repeat offenders.

Wiping out humanity entirely would cut the murder rate to 0 very quickly.

There are only 2 genders.

he is a terrorist sympathiser.

Strong disagree. He does support dialogue though.

dapsnotplimsolls · 03/12/2023 14:38

Capital punishment is always wrong.

Catsanfan · 03/12/2023 14:38

@CatMadam that is ridiculous. We take the view we take for many reasons, none of them hatred. One of the main ones are that we don't want people like Tyler Porter in our toilets

chomping at the bit
It's champing. I'll die on that Hill.

CatMadam · 03/12/2023 14:35

@lifeturnsonadime

Im not arguing with someone whose opinion towards trans people is based on ‘If we lie and have to call males in women's clothes women’. Seeing so many people chomping at the bit to spread more uninformed hate against trans people in the guise of women’s rights is honestly so disgusting that I’m not going to respond further to any ridiculous anti-trans comments. No matter what silly hypothetical scenario you propose, there’s absolutely nothing that will change my mind on my original point- terfs are silly and trans rights are important. Have a lovely Sunday :)

So women and girls don't matter CatMadam.

The truth is not hatred.

The fact that you see women's rights as anti-trans just highlights that there is a conflict.

And to go to the point of the thread this is the hill I will die on the rights of women's and girls are NOT less important than the rights of trans identifying males.

It is not bigoted to believe that women and girls are fully human and should have rights based in sex rather than gender.

Goldbar · 03/12/2023 14:39

If you are walking in a group or even a pair, it is unacceptable to block the pavement so that people can't get past. I saw two women with suitcases earlier huffing because they had to move out the way of an electric wheelchair user. Everyone always needs to leave a "passing lane" and getting out of the way sharpish should be drilled into children from a young age.

Conversely and perhaps counterintuitively, I also think that it should be legal to push cyclists who barrel round corners at top speed ringing their bells and getting annoyed that tiny toddlers don't instantly move from their path into the river.

archerzz · 03/12/2023 14:41

Love -> marriage -> buy a home -> babies

Theredjellybean · 03/12/2023 14:42

So many hills...

Currently: Israel are committing genocide war crimes and we should not be supporting them

Long term: biological sex is indesputable. No gender reassignment or feelz changes that and female only spaces should be just that based on DNA.

Moral : capital punishment is wrong

LauderSyme · 03/12/2023 14:42

@LadyMonicaBaddingham I did say "when he wasn't..."

I see your point but it does feel odd to describe a sexually sadistic serial killer as bad mannered.

Dinkymummy · 03/12/2023 14:43

That drag artists (not trans) are an offensive charicature of women and not entertainment. I think in years to come we will look back on shows like drag race and this whole culture and liken it to other offensive practices, such as blackface!

Social housing, (safe, clean, warm, well-looked after social housing,) with lifetime tenancies, and reasonable rents, should be available to almost anyone and everyone, with the rent being set at a percentage of the household income.

Say 15%..... So if you have a household income of £20,000 the rent is £250 a month. £25,000 - £312.50 a month. £30,000 - £375.00 a month. £35,000 - £437.50 a month. £40,000 - £500.00 a month. £45,000 - £562.50 a month. £50,000 - £625.00 a month and so on. £55,000 - £687.50 a month. And a maximum of £750 a month. (Which is what you'd pay if you had a household income of £60,000 - (and this is the most anyone would pay... £750 a month.)

Not everyone wants to buy, and owning a property is often a burden, having to foot the bills for thousands of pounds worth of repairs.

Along with years and years of ongoing maintenance, never-ending decades of rising mortgage rates, and the risk of losing your home if you lose your job, (or become long term sick, or the interest rates rise to a very high level,) being a homeowner is a millstone around the neck for some people.

I know someone will say 'what about those earning a million or more a year?' but the fact is, most people who are wealthy/very high earners, probably won't want to rent social housing anyway! And we could have an upper earning limit. Say no-one with a household income of half a million or more can apply. Why shouldn't higher earners be allowed cheaper rent? (As well as lower earners...)

Edited

I agree. Apart from all else, if social housing is seen as 'for the poor' or, worse, for 'problem families'. then it is likely to be underfunded and segregated and to become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Also, if social housing is seen as beneficial to society as a whole, far more is likely to be built.

Women cannot be the property of or controlled by men in any civilised nation.

That it's morally wrong to have children if you are not in a position to look after them, practically and financially.

And who decides what that means?

MrsDoubtfire123 · 03/12/2023 14:46

That there is a cure everything… but in the pursuit of wealth , cures are hidden from the world and those who are ill suffer - unnecessarily.

pacora · 03/12/2023 13:00

No men, however they feel, in women's single sex spaces.

This. People cannot change sex.

Anisette · 03/12/2023 14:47

Capital punishment is never justifiable

Strawberrycheesecake7 · 03/12/2023 14:48

That there are far too many domesticated animals in rescue centres to be continually breeding and producing new ones. If you want a pet you should adopt one instead of buying from a breeder or a pet shop.

Baneofmyexistence · 03/12/2023 14:48

That all women across the world should have access to safe, legal and free abortions.

GoatsareGOAT · 03/12/2023 14:48

Single sex spaces are safer for women & girls so no men should be allowed regardless of their pronouns or "gender identity" (aka personality).

Hate crime is bollocks - if you commit a crime you should be punished for the crime you committed not what thoughts are being ascribed to you.

Women and girls are murdered every week in the UK. Simply for being female.

I'm not saying pior Brianna's murder wasn't evil, but why is it worse?

One opinion that you have that will never waver, no matter what?..

That it’s rude to invite yourself to stay at someone else’s house, particularly during the week, when you know we both work full time
