One opinion that you have that will never waver, no matter what?..

Die Hard is a Christmas movie.

That Die Hard 2 is more Christmassy than Die Hard.

I won't eat dead animals

Desecratedcoconut · 03/12/2023 15:17

I won't eat alive ones.

SouthLondonMum22 · 03/12/2023 15:17

It's always a bad idea for a woman to be a SAHM.

I corrected myself. It was a typo. Where have I incorrectly used punctuation?

It's an ironic joke that marries 'coma' with the nuances of grammar. No big deal, don't be offended.

Rainbowshit · 03/12/2023 15:17

Sex is real, sex is immutable. Sex matters in life and law. Females have the right to the privacy dignity and safety of single sex spaces. which no biological males should be allowed access to.

I've thought of another one, which may be controversial but I firmly believe it: if abortion is legal (as it should be) then paper abortion ought to be. If women can opt out of motherhood, men should be able to opt out of fatherhood. Anything else is illogical and unfair.

Kind of agree with this too - l know people say it's the woman's choice and yes it is of course but why shouldn't men be able to say if they don't want a baby?

3peassuit · 03/12/2023 15:19

Women’s spaces for females. Abortion as early as possible and as late as necessary.

Pregnant women who drink or smoke are selfish....

I definitely agree with this. I mean, a glass of wine a couple of times a month is OK, but smoking when you're pregnant is utterly foul, and should be against the law. Not sure how they'd police it, but yeah, it's vile.

Even worse, I know a woman who smokes weed - 2 or 3 times a week, and she smoked it all through her pregnancy. I can barely look her in the eye when I see her. I dread to think what effect it's had on her baby (born 17 months ago.) There are already tell-tale signs of effects, but I won't say on here what they are.

Why do we need your sympathy? What for? She’s not dying!

I would feel a great deal of sympathy for any child that had been fed the lie that they are “born in the wrong body” and that it is possible and desirable to “change over”. It is not, and they are facing a life of fabrication, painful surgeries and hormones that will lead to infertility and shorter life expectancy. They have mental issues and are crying out for help, but they are pushed into this nonsense instead.

Gender stereotypes are hugely harmful, just because a child doesn’t want to conform to the pink and make up/blue and football stereotypes, that does not mean there is anything than needs medically fixing! A male cannot know what it is to be a female, and decide they are one, (and vice versa) any more than they can know what it is to be a cat or a horse or a bird. Insanity - this is a hill I would definitely die on.

DustyLee123 · 03/12/2023 15:19

You cannot change your sex, no matter what you do.

SwordBilledHummingbird · 03/12/2023 15:20

Male and female are real and meaningful biological categories.

VanityDiesHard · 03/12/2023 15:20

Goldbar · 03/12/2023 15:16

Abortion isn't about the woman though, it's about the child. The child exists and is entitled to support from both parents.

How do you mean? Abortion is about the woman, it is healthcare. If it were 'about the child' then it would be banned in all cases, or at least in all cases when there wasn't a direct threat to the woman's life. I do understand that paper abortion is a tricky one, because you might get a situation where a man strung the woman along into thinking he would support the child and then not do it: the conditions would have to be strict in order to prevent that, so he would have to make it clear he wasn't willing to be a father within the first few months of the woman's pregnancy.

Trans women are not women (and trans men are not men).

That the patriarchy has done a massive number on women by scaremongering out of all proportion on trans issues. I agree that women should have single-sex spaces, but I'm stunned at how much this issue has overtaken all others in discussion about feminism and women's rights. Even on this thread, and definitely on the feminism discussion board, there is far more anger and anxiety about trans people than there is about FGM, public spending cuts that literally endanger the lives of women, the treatment of women by the Taliban, even violence against women and the pitifully low rates of CPS charges against rapists, sex abusers and those who perpetrate violence against women. This isn't whataboutism- I think that a discussion about trans rights is important- But I don't think the obsession with it is helpful to the cause of women. Roe vs Wade was overturned whilst we were distracted by this.

It's always a bad idea for a woman to be a SAHM.

I’m going to have to disagree with this, it was necessary for me for a while due to DH’s job.
But the one thing I should have done is got DH to pay into my private pension.

IncompleteSenten · 03/12/2023 15:22

Not prioritising men is not the same thing as hating them. It's their male entitlement that makes them feel that way, not reality.

It can't be against the law because it would give a fetus more rights than the woman which would open up a can of worms.

It's either a woman's body and choice or it isn't. Even if we disagree with that choice.

Starrystarryshite · 03/12/2023 15:24

Hijabs/Christian veiling/mandatory modest clothing in any religion is despicable. No body part is immodest and I hate that it only applies to girls and women. Hair on your head, shoulders and legs are normal body parts and I dispute anyone who thinks otherwise.

The only body parts that should be considered private for everyone are genitals.

That terfs are silly and trans rights are important.

1.Trans rights are important.

2.Women's rights are important too, and do not take second place to everyone else's rights in society. And sometimes, despite protestations to the contrary, they clash. The solution is for trans activists to find, not women. It's not as though they are not well enough backed or lack for funds.

3.TERF is a slur. An inaccurate one at that.

SerafinasGoose · 03/12/2023 15:26

Pineapple does belong on pizza.

ChishiyaBat · 03/12/2023 15:28

Like many others have said, Men are not women and they never will be. It's sex not bullshit made up gender!

Mumsnet was more interesting before the obsession with trans folk.
