Foods that you just don't like but others seem to love!

I'm not referring to obvious foods such as ice cream or popular top brand processed stuff.
I mean those foods that people often rave about as being particularly special.

I will add truffle and truffle oil to this list, oysters, salmon and veiny cheese can join the mix too Grin

Truffle oil smells horrific to me as well as any kind of blue cheeses. I don't understand how people can enjoy them. Salmon on the other hand hmmmmm.😋

SeriousFaffing · 28/11/2023 17:07

Came here to say truffle oil. Yuck, it tastes and smells disgusting!

IHS · 28/11/2023 17:11

Hummus. I don't even know what you're supposed to do with it. It looks like sick or baby food.

allfurcoatnoknickers · 28/11/2023 17:12

Hot chocolate. People behave like it's a treat, but I've had nice hot chocolate maybe twice in my life. Generally I find it disgusting.

Isseywith3witchycats · 28/11/2023 17:14

peppers and sweetcorn people look at me like im a weirdo but to me peppers overcome every other flavour in a dish and sweetcorn just tastes yuk

DirectionToPerfection · 28/11/2023 17:14

Onions. Horribly slimy stinky things 🤢

I seem to be in a serious minority there though.

Quornflakegirl · 28/11/2023 17:16

Baked beans, I just done get the love for them.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 28/11/2023 17:16

Blue cheese is the main one.

Why is eating something that tastes of stomach acid considered a treat?

Also coffee. Yes, that's right, coffee.

simbobs · 28/11/2023 17:17

Bananas. Horrible smell and texture.

ViolaCello · 28/11/2023 17:18

Can't stand sweetcorn, and agree about hummus, although DP loves it.

Coffee too 🤮

IGotItFromAgnes · 28/11/2023 17:19

Goats cheese - my father used to say it tastes like a goat smells, and I don’t think he’s far wrong

Jellycats4life · 28/11/2023 17:19

Agree about the blue cheese. Or any stinky cheese really. How anyone can encounter something that smells so bad and want to eat it is beyond me.

Avocado, I wish I liked it as it's so healthy but everytime I think it tastes like raw egg.
And cold cheese can't stand it.

Ponderingwindow · 28/11/2023 17:20

Salmon.
dh can’t cook it in our home. He has to cook and eat it outdoors. I find the smell so abhorrent it makes me wretch. I’ve left restaurants because too many people have ordered salmon and I couldn’t deal with the smell.
