I'm not referring to obvious foods such as ice cream or popular top brand processed stuff.
I mean those foods that people often rave about as being particularly special.

I will add truffle and truffle oil to this list, oysters, salmon and veiny cheese can join the mix too Grin

Cold/unmelted butter. Lovely melted on toast etc but it makes me gag in sandwiches.

I forgot to add melted butter to my list of yuck. Cannot stand it. "Butter puddles" makes my stomach turn.

Peas.

I do "eat" them, by swallowing them whole, but I cannot for the life of me chew them. My grandmother forced me to eat them as a child, so I just swallowed them.

The thought of chewing peas is 🤢

Salted caramel can fuck off! I just want plain caramel.

Avocado.

Wednesdaysotherchild · 28/11/2023 18:37

All meat, fish and dairy. It’s either dead bodies or reeks of animal. Grim.

Seeing as you mentioned truffle and truffle oil, I got some limited edition Boursin cheese and truffle from Tesco and it's not very nice, it has got very good customer reviews though, I still have quite a bit left and I don't think I can face it. DH doesn't like those cheeses anyway so he won't eat it

Cheese and mushrooms. Cannot stand either.

RudsyFarmer · 28/11/2023 18:46

Ice cream. Never have been particularly interested in it. Yogurt similarly.

Glasgowgal200 · 28/11/2023 18:49

Creme eggs

Westfacing · 28/11/2023 18:49

Cake - the world is overrun with cakes!

Every other shop seems to be a cake shop, selling huge slabs of, admittedly very decorative and colourful, cakes.

And what's with Christmas cake - brown stodge covered in marzipan and sickly icing.

Glasgowgal200 · 28/11/2023 18:53

Creme caramel , oxtail soup, minestrone soup,

Glasgowgal200 · 28/11/2023 18:54

Umbellifer · 28/11/2023 18:59

Asparagus...I don't hate it I just don't understand what everyone gets excited about, to me it doesn't taste of anything at all.

Rhubarb though, that is just disgusting ..unless nibbled raw dipped in a bowl of sugar on my Grandad's allotment 💜

HardcoreLadyType · 28/11/2023 19:02

Brussels sprouts. 🤢

Bitter green balls of misery.

And yet, seemingly, indispensable for Christmas lunch.

Hot chocolate. People behave like it's a treat, but I've had nice hot chocolate maybe twice in my life. Generally I find it disgusting.

Yes this, and also anything with a melt in the middle chocolate thing. No thanks.

I love chocolate as well just not when it's runny

SgtJuneAckland · 28/11/2023 19:06

Mince pies
Christmas pudding
Mulled wine (leave my wine alone!)
Bananas
Baked beans

The first two in particular people try every year to convince me to just taste this one or these are really nice , they're not

CambridgeLass · 28/11/2023 19:08

Poppadoms. Don’t see the point.

ViolaCello · 28/11/2023 19:08

I really don't like fried butter, the smell is awful. I know many people love to cook things with it but I can only stomach it cold.

Cauliflower pretending to be rice. It's not fucking rice.

willowthecat · 28/11/2023 19:08

Tuna and sweetcorn sandwiches - looks and smells like regurgitated cat food or any tuna mayonaisse
