Bit shocked to see that Alistair Darling has died at 70.

I always thought he seemed like a decent man. What a loss for his family.

I had no idea he was ill, no reason I would I suppose.

He was a a figure who made his mark. I hope his family are well supported.

I'm very sorry to hear that Alastair Darling has died.

He was a politician who I liked and respected hugely.

Same. He had real integrity. He never got the credit he deserved for steering us through the financial crisis.

Sad news. Another good one gone.

Re Alistair Darling; Someone I know knew his wife through a work thing and knew him a bit as well and says they are/were both absolutely lovely.

This bit from the Covid inquiry today:-

"Mr Johnson says the health secretary is "doing great", asking if there is anything he can do to help.
"Kind of you to say. It's not easy. You are doing great too. Follow the science!" Mr Hancock replies. "

Hancock is just bonkers. It’s like his past reality is in flux depending on what he needs to be perceived as and no one else can see it.

I liked the bit when they basically said ‘you know what you’re saying now doesn’t reflect what you wrote in your own book?’

Funny how many of them were the lone voice speaking out in the madness of everyone else getting it so wrong.

They must have all been very confused. They were all speaking out about how it was wrong and yet everyone thought everyone else agreed with the plan.

Well, to be frank they were all pissed, shopping trolleys, suitcases full of booze etc. I've not been paying as much attention as deserved but I gather that Bozo took office, stepped through the front door, then threw the keys at Cummings and told him to get on with doing the job of PM as he had a book to write and a wedding to pay for. I may have misunderstood some of this.

Cummings was busy wandering around trying to figure out who the idiot who was responsible for putting Boris in charge of the country was.

I have been assured many times that the Prime Minister is only in charge of the No 10 indoor plants, I think you perhaps have misunderstood the role of Prime Monster.
