Sorry, you are right I have. Pot plants and parties.

Not the parties themselves, just the essential morale raising entertainments.

L1ttledrummergirl · 30/11/2023 19:51

I've just watched yesterday's PMQs. Fuck that bloke is beyond the pale.

When asked why there was no funding to help make the coal slags safe in Wales as people living there are concerned that there is going to be another Aberfan, Sunak started wittering on about making energy cheaper.

Is the bloke particularly dense, unable to listen, extremely self absorbed or just tone deaf?

How can a PM of Great Britain have no knowledge of one of the biggest disasters to hit the country in the last 100 years?

Who the fuck thought he was a good person for the job?

Who the fuck thought he was a good person for the job?

Quite clearly all the people who voted for him thought he was absolutely the best person for the job.

L1ttledrummergirl · 30/11/2023 19:57

Which says a lot about their lack of judgement.

RafaistheKingofClay · 30/11/2023 20:05

He’s only PM because his qualifications are being not as bad a Liz Truss. And she got beaten by a lettuce.

He does though seem to be trying to demonstrate that he can be as bad as Liz Truss.

L1ttledrummergirl · 30/11/2023 20:22

His attitude towards Aberfan was insulting to everyone who went through it, the families and communities living with the loss, and those who worry about it happening again.

He's sick in the head.

Zonder · 30/11/2023 20:36

Well the Greeks do seem to have a clear message there.

😂

Not sitting on the fence are they. Don’t worry Greece, he’s not going to be PM for long.

The text underneath says 'This is the only way to answer the insult of the mouse-faced Prime Minister of England ...'

Piggywaspushed · 30/11/2023 22:11

Oh, I don't like that.

Considering that he is given all the questions beforehand this is the answer after he has prepared for it. It is diabolical.

mibbelucieachwell · 01/12/2023 09:05

Shock I didn't know the PM gets advance notice of the Q's.

I was under the impressions (perhaps erroneously) that the governing party plant question amoung their own backbenchers on topics they want the PM to be questioned on, but that otherwise questions could be on any topic.

DuncinToffee · 01/12/2023 09:12

I don't think they know the exact questions but will know the gist of it.

Yes they do indeed plant friendly questions.

The PM doesn't have sight of exactly what the opposition will ask, but every goverment department provides PMQ briefing and lines to take on the hot topics in their policy areas.

The skill then is in the Leader of the Opposition's team in trying to find questions that have not been prepared for. Sometimes they are asked by the Leader of the Opposition, othertimes they might have been planted on the back benches. Equally individual backbenchers may also ask a question that the PM has not prepped for, which may well have been the case with the Aberfan question.

IClaudine · 01/12/2023 10:18

The Aberfan question definitely came out of left field. Sunak is not good at thinking on his feet, is he? Which is an unfortunate trait in a PM.

Mind you, he's probably got too used to only mentioning Wales in the context of "in Labour run Wales". So no wonder the poor love was flummoxed.

I agree. Absolutely awful. I was a child but over ten, when it happened and I remember distinctly how horrendous it was and how we all sat round the TV in shock.
If I was thrown a question about it, I could answer in an empathic way... he totally ignored coal tips and talked about railways.

Aberfan has hung over Wales for a very long time, a terrible terrible disaster.

Matt Hancock off on one again at Covid enquiry... talk about 'Not my fault Guv'....Hmm

Roussette · 01/12/2023 11:51

Oh my. Hancock rattled. No idea who this is questioning him, but he brought up some whatsapp messages from Helen Whately to Hancock and asked him... can you see that?
(normal to ask in that context)

Hancock: Yes. I can read thank you.

He is in extreme waffle mode.

To be fair, it is reasonable to ask whether he can read, because the evidence from early today and yesterday that he had not read important briefing documents might suggest he wasn't able to.

Roussette · 01/12/2023 12:37

Cummings is tweeting that Hancock is flat out lying to enquiry, and he did not push for lockdown, like he is saying.

Indeed. It seems he may not have even read his own book.
