I hate my new car, I feel sick

It’s my fault, I was easily talked into it by the sales person.

It’s such a basic car and I’m embarrassed by it. It’s expensive and I want to cry

I got a new car earlier this year and I hated it for a couple of months, it took lots of getting used to but now I find it so much easier than my old car! (But I still hate the incessant peeping when I'm parking - I haven't learnt how to turn that off yet!🤣)

I 100% know what you mean by the Mercedes. There's always a car that has the good finance deals, and it comes with a bit of reputation for it being an 'everyone who wants to try show off car' and therefore feels basic as in 'basic b*tch'. It's also been BMW and Range Rover evoques in the past. Also from a personal choice point of view, Mercedes Benz on the lower models have a really ugly interior and don't feel really nice to drive. It doesn't feel like you'd expect a Mercedes to feel. Audis are the same in this.

I'm not saying it's a view everyone shares, and there absolutely will be people out there who wish they were in the position to have this type of dilemma. But let's not tear someone down because they've gained a better job as OP has said to be able to afford this type of dilemma.

Send the car back, get a different one. I think SUV would be my preference too, you do feel a bit more protected

Protected from what?

All the idiot SUV drivers who can't drive, never mind park the damn things?!

How can a grown woman be so weak and spineless as to be talked into buying something they don't like?

Unless of course you're not an adult and are a child posting a silly made up post.

Either way, ask a responsible person to accompany you should you feel the need to buy anything else.

I’ve just googled the car. It’s absolutely beautiful and 100% a family car.

New drivers get minis, fiat 500s and vauxhall corsas (as a driving instructor I know) and none of those cars are embarrassing. I’m fact, what car is embarrassing?

I understand where you're coming from OP, my hubby drives a merc and it's much too low to the ground and hurts my back climbing in and out, it's an executive car and I don't think it's great for family life. I drive an old suv cross over and its much better to drive, higher up and comfortable and roomier for the kids

A Mercedes A class is not what new drivers get.

the new drivers I know have old Kias, Skodas and if they are really posh, it’s a VW polo/golf. Never have I known a new driver with a Mercedes Confused

I had to come back because I can’t believe the car is a Merc A Class🤣🤣 I honestly thought it was going to be a Fiesta Focus or something (even though there’s nothing wrong with that, a car is a car!)

Op just take it back. Is it really worth spending 30k on a car you don't like to save yourself a slight bit of embarrassment? The only reason the car salesman cares is because they lose commission and have to sell it again which is a faff but they get paid to do this.
