I am so fucking angry that its cost the tax payer £££££ in legal fees for a judge to say something so patently obvious. Maybe the Government should refer this kind of thing to their "Common Sense Tsar".

No "safe third country" is going to be interested in this arrangement as they will be taking their own refugees.

I am fucking angry too

I don't think we even know the extent of the cost yet

"💥👀 So,,,c60 MPs in Commonsense/New Cons group + another 20 MPs would back leaving ECHR

Asked a v senior former cab min if, in the event of the PM deciding not to pursue leaving ECHR (if emergency law fail) whether he’d face a confidence vote, they said: “That’s very plausible”

x.com/bethrigby/status/1724755106703233321?s=46&t=Uw4lJNwxFZFnX0Xs3doHYg

🙄 Clearly haven't bothered reading the judgement.

Can they read?

Just watching the start of PMQs, Sunak is faltering, all he has is 'but Jeremy Corbyn' and even he doesn't sound convinced saying it.

He actually went there, didn't he?

And the 'there's no money left' note.

AutumnCrow · 15/11/2023 12:23

Did any of these MPs even bother to listen to or read the summary of the Supreme Court judgement? It makes it blindingly clear that the UN Refugee Convention, for example, to which the UK is a signatory, is of paramount significance. Sunak wittering on about changing domestic law is pathetic.

jgw1 · 15/11/2023 12:25

I must say I enjoyed the question about Southampton football club managers and Housing Ministers.

Here is 30p Lee

https://x.com/breeallegretti/status/1724747687117902081?s=20

Lee Anderson says ministers should go ahead and “put planes in the air” to Rwanda anyway.

When I asked if he was suggesting ignoring the Supreme Court ruling, the Tory deputy chairman said govt should “ignore the laws and send them straight back”.

Presumably Sunak will now also sack Anderson for encouraging lawbreaking as he did with Braverman?

DuncinToffee · 15/11/2023 12:35

Ignore the laws could be Sunak's next pledge, he can tick the box straight away.

The joke sir Keir Starmer made about ' trying to get a spark ' or something really made me lol!
(Although he does need to work on his delivery a bit!)

DuncinToffee · 15/11/2023 12:39

Tory right vibe check:

Simon Clarke warns Rishi Sunak his response to today's Supreme Court ruling is a "confidence issue"

Jonathan Gullis says the Tories are "toast" at the general election if they don't "deliver" on small boats

Lee Anderson calls on the PM to ignore the law

Yvette copper , how I wish she was the labour leader.

the80sweregreat · 15/11/2023 12:54

Cooper

BIossomtoes · 15/11/2023 13:02

I’m fine with her being the next Home Secretary.

Me too, I think she will have a greater impact in that role.

Has Andersen seen a previous leeming jump over the cliff marked encourage law breaking and thought I know, I want to be like them?

Why is Sunak going to revise the Rwanda deal when the Supreme Court has said it's not a safe third country?

Caulfield: "The judge didn't say it's not a safe country."

<is shown clip of judge saying it>

James Cleverly. Bloody hell how dense is he.

Yvette Cooper lays out Labour's plan for stopping the scourge of people smuggling.

Cleverly: <reads off prepared notes smugly> And what is Labour's plan?! Ha ha! <hears laughter around him. Pauses to think for a second>

Cleverly: blah blah numbers numbers numbers random numbers bigger and bigger numbers

<Yvette shakes head sadly>

AutumnCrow · 15/11/2023 13:09

Alistair Carmichael asks about 30p Lee.

Cleverly says 'we respect the judgement'.

the80sweregreat · 15/11/2023 13:10

Cleverly was lying that labour don't have any plans as he sat and listened to them all
Made me so angry I had to turn it off
They gaslight the public at every opportunity

Not so Cleverly might not have noticed that he doesn't matter whether or not Labour have any plans as they are not in government.

AutumnCrow · 15/11/2023 13:11

Theresa May's short contribution was good - she pointed out the the Supreme Court judgement wasn't actually because of the ECHR in and of itself

He got laughed at though, and it rattled him a bit.
