Jacket Potato Fillings

Tonight’s fillings are leftover chilli, and cheese and beans for the little ones.

What are your favourite fillings?
I love cold fillings of coronation chicken, prawn in a Marie Rose sauce and tuna mayo with red onion.

Must haves are butter, and a crisp salad.

cottage cheese

TheChippendenSpook · 07/11/2023 17:00

Definitely cheese and beans!

IHeartGeneHunt · 07/11/2023 17:00

Cheese and beans with the cheese in first.
Chicken korma - a cafe near me used to do it and I've been vegetarian for years but still think longingly of them!

Lulu1919 · 07/11/2023 17:00

Melted cheese n pineapple
Or
melted cheese and homemade coleslaw

Retrievemysanity · 07/11/2023 17:01

Love egg mayo with a jacket.

Onethingatatime23 · 07/11/2023 17:01

Prawn marie rose for me too.

Or just loads of salt, butter, mayonnaise mushed in then grated cheese on top.

Veggie chilli, yogurt & grated cheese also very good.

NorthernLiner · 07/11/2023 17:01

Never had bolognese filling before! Adds to must try list.

Also, do you call it a jacket or baked potato?
We use both interchangeably.

ETA - I’ve just remembered I used to love cottage cheese in them, and also cheese and coleslaw! Student dinners 😂

butter at the bottom next to the potato, then a mountain of grated extra strong cheddar then a side of coleslaw heaven

Onethingatatime23 · 07/11/2023 17:02

Egg mayo jacket is also so good for protein & fibre. Brilliant when you are starving!

Rockfordpeach · 07/11/2023 17:02

Butter chicken. So good

MrsBennetsPoorNerves · 07/11/2023 17:04

I'll happily eat one with beany chilli or veggie bolognaise etc, but honestly, nothing beats simple butter and cheese for me. Delicious!!

murasaki · 07/11/2023 17:05

Butter, cheese, bacon and sour cream.

RosyCheekedBird · 07/11/2023 17:06

Prawn Marie Rose and avocado and lots of salt and pepper.

Inextremis · 07/11/2023 17:09

Boston baked beans and bacon
Sour cream, black pepper, and chives

SpacePotato · 07/11/2023 17:09

Butter first, then the cheese, then a load of beans.

Would never have tuna. Even the smell is 🤮 to me.

mandydandy · 07/11/2023 17:12

I would be the same as the OP chilli and cheese or cheese and beans.

If im having a Crohn's flare up, I pretty much live on baked tatties!

EveryOtherNameTaken · 07/11/2023 17:16

Cheese and tuna mayo
Chilli and cheese

Sandysandwich · 07/11/2023 17:31

Butter and cheese
Or butter and fajita spiced chicken and peppers

Mosaic123 · 07/11/2023 17:32

Cottage cheese and butter. It's delicious!

BitofaStramash · 07/11/2023 17:40

Haggis & Neeps
Chilli Con Carne (with some sour cream)
Cheese & Coleslaw

In that order

Edited

I'm strictly a baked potato person Esther than jacket. I'm rather pathetically strict about it.

You must try bolognese though - with cheese - superb combo

FallingAutumnLeaf · 07/11/2023 17:45

Cheese or cheese and beans.

However, if you've got a bit of spare time, halve the jacket potatoes, scoop out the middle, mix with grated cheese and cooked bacon, pile it back in the shells, and cook til golden.
