Jacket Potato Fillings

Tonight’s fillings are leftover chilli, and cheese and beans for the little ones.

What are your favourite fillings?
I love cold fillings of coronation chicken, prawn in a Marie Rose sauce and tuna mayo with red onion.

Must haves are butter, and a crisp salad.

Ooooo I want a jacket pot now! Some fab ideas on this thread that I’m going to try.

My favourite filling are (in no particular order):-

▫️Homemade coleslaw with with either whole grain mustard and mayo or mayo with spicy Cajun seasoning

▫️Tuna Mayo and cheese (cheese first)

▫️Melted Stilton mashed into the potato with garlicky mushrooms

▫️Bean chilli and cheese

All the above with a fuckton of salted proper butter and a crisp salad.

Aaaand has anyone mentioned baked sweet potato? Now that IS lush. You don’t need butter 😳. They’re lovely with hummus, garlic mushrooms and a lemony rocket salad with grated carrot.

Is it not weird having egg mayo warmed by the potato?

I’ve had Stilton in it before but I’m doing it for lunch or dinner with garlicky mushrooms, so thanks! My fave dinners involve satueed mushrooms with butter but will add garlic.

Shove a metal skewer through them before you put them in the oven and leave it in;the metal will conduct the heat through the middle

Beans & cheese is perfect. Second place is chilli, preferably leftover from the night before! However, DM has been known to put bolognese on hers and that doesn't work for me at all!

Leftover minced beef

tuna and onion is my favourite followed by cheese and coleslaw. sometimes have bolognaise if I'm not in the mood for pasta .

Leftover mice with cheese is a good combo.

I can't stand the smell of potato and baked beans it's horrific even reading it is making me queasy!

I want a jacket potato now

After receiving a monster substitute bag of baking potatoes (after ordering just one potato), I have been eating jacket potatoes for days now!

Imagination and stuff to put in them has just about run out. Fishfingers and baked beans tonight. It was nice, however!!

Cottage cheese is excellent

beans and cheese hard to beat

if I’m feeling fancy mushrooms in cream cheese/any creamy sauce

Seeing a theme here? It's really not a jacket spud without cheese!

I love prawn Marie Rose in mine with cucumber, avocado and a side of homemade coleslaw. I also love:

Tuna mayo with sweetcorn and red onion

Houmous, olives, sundried tomato and feta

Chicken and bacon mayo, red onion, cucumber (sometimes with red grapes)

Chicken, mayo, pesto, peppers and red onion (hot or cold)

Boursin and garlic mushroom

But I think chilli, or leftover taco filling is my favourite with lots of melting cheese.

It’s not if you don’t eat any of it because egg mayo is utterly disgusting and inedible and has now ruined your potato.

Tuna, sweetcorn and olive oil, salt and pepper (instead of butter).
Or lentil Bolognese.

Oh wow, who knew there’d be so much appreciation for the humble baked spud?!

I had mine with leftover chilli with cheese and it was amazing.

I agree, even just butter and salt is lovely 😊Otherwise butter and cheese, or beans and cheese. My favourite fillings are the simplest ones!

cheese and beans… it has to be cheese first then beans…. Not sure I can trust anyone who does it beans first….
