It's only really dawned on me in recent years. The conversations we all have about what "countries" or "states" are doing to eachother, the terrible crimes against women, animals and children, particularly the sexually motivated ones. It's men. We're not talking about what a particular state or country has done, we're talking about what men have done.

So now, when I click onto my news app, I find myself thinking "What have the men done now."

I feel sad that I can only really now see it this way. Actually sad for many reasons.

No ok be is saying all men are bad that would be silly but it’s hard to argue with what you see around you and on the news.

@BigFatLiar I’ve worked in a male dominated office but decent men and it was fab. Now there’s more women and it’s nasty. I think it comes from insecurities but they want to trample other women to make them look better. No they’re not raping people but one bully made me have suicidal thoughts. I’ve never suffered mh issues and was a very confident person but she nearly broke me. She is blissfully unaware because I won’t give her the satisfaction of knowing she had that much power. She’d relish it.

Women can be absolutely vile bitches, let's not pretend otherwise. I've been in relationships with some who turned out to be horribly abusive.

Of course it isn't ALL men. But it is pretty much always men.

Its not been ideal that men are now living longer and i think there used to be more infant mortality in boys. I guess if x % of men are paedophiles but men used to live till 60/70 but now live to say 85 .

I don't carry a makeshift weapon if I'm out on my own at night because I'm scared of women.

How does the song go? This is a man's world, but it wouldn't be nothing without a woman or a girl! Women gave out white feathers and took part in anti-conscientious objection during the war.

Men build ostensibly to provide a better outcome for their families and progeny. Men conquer territory to provide better living conditions for their own. Women may not instigate, but do facilitate and go along with this.

Who benefited during Black slavery? Primarily Men and their families, including wives. Many women inherited slaves. Some of those families are still benefitting from long term generational wealth as a result of ancestral patriarchial speculation in slavery and the colonial trade. I'm not objecting to it, it's life and history, but to say women had no hand in facilitating it is nonsense.

Dominance hierarchies and in-groups and out-groups are intrinsic to any societal structure. So if women were in charge you'd get bad ones who also do bad stuff. I went to a girls school, lots of all girl dominance groups, with the bitch leaders. You see there the potentially lethal outcome of things like relational aggression and systematic outcasting. One girl I know nearly killed herself over disgusting rumours spread about her in school.

Some people have certain proclivities and those people recognise each other and get together to make things difficult for everyone.

I have read this thread and feel depressed because here we have people saying women are sometimes just as bad. I think by looking at the stats we can see it’s mostly men who create all the trouble and suffering in this world.

My DP would consider himself one of the good guys and says his friends never talk disrespectfully about women but I don’t expect they ever call out bad behaviour in other men if they hear/see it.

I’m not hopeful about thy estate of the world for my daughter - I’m hoping I’m showing her that she never accepts poor behaviour from men. I’m already teaching her to keep a keen eye out for men who look like trouble when we are out and about.

Just because some women are capable of harm, and I know that better than anyone, trust me, doesn’t mean it’s not men or a masculine mentality that is majority responsible for causing most of the problems in the world.

I always find it ironic/frustrating when a crime is committed and people are commenting underneath saying it’s because of their skin colour, religion, MH etc but the only thing they have in common is their sex.

Look up the arrests made in your area every week, it will be 95% men every time.

The vast majority of crimes are committed by men.

Of course it’s not all men, most men are decent human beings.

Not all men commit crimes but the crimes that are committed are mainly by men.

Why this is though, I have no idea.
Is it just built in them and associated with testosterone so there’s nothing that can be done or is it more that there have been generations of men being superior and it’s ingrained in them.

Just saying ‘here are some shitty women I can name, only one of whom has actually been involved in a war’ doesn’t negate all the thousands of men throughout history who have done dreadful things.

Spot on. And the irony is in America white women are some of the biggest beneficiaries of affirmative action yet it’s usually black or other POC who are accused of “cashing in” on it.

And of course bristol, Liverpool, Glasgow and many more are all areas which benefited from slavery. That wealth was passed onto both men & women.

Interesting that most of the crimes are committed by men but as men have on the whole made the laws on what constitutes a crime these are crimes from the perspective of a man. I wonder (genuinely) if women were in charge and making the laws more women would be criminals because the laws would reflect their perspective of what is criminal? Or would even more men be considered criminal? Bit off topic I know but an interesting thought experiment.

Yes but there's a difference between men cause more violence and women are never and not responsible for any of the things that happen in the world.

Women have the vote in most western countries at least. And that is responsibility. Women strangely DO NOT tend to support parties solely on issues pertaining to women. Women will vote in parties with policies that make women's lives ostensibly harder, if not their's, then other women elsewhere and women will support parties advocating war. I've done it.

Lets take an example of the Labour party (theoretically).

Despite not upholding womens rights in regards to language and not guaranteeing womens safe spaces, I guarantee women will be racing to vote for them. Then if they follow through on philosophies they've clearly demonstrated they agree with, when they have no safe spaces complain and say it's down to the menz that things are so.

We have a women's equality party don't we? I am not inspired. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but they were supportive of the whole self I.D. Happy to be corrected.

The thing is, if we woke up tomorrow and men were committing acts of violence at the same rate as women, the world would be a better place. If we woke up to women committing acts of violence at the same rate as men, the world would quickly become hell on earth.
