None of the Friends Co stars have posted anything on Instagram about Matthew Perry's death

Maybe they have posted elsewhere, just find it strange that none of them appear to have acknowledged it on Instagram, especially as they all seem to be pretty active on there.

OP posts:
Moirarosesgarden · 30/10/2023 11:12

I read they are preparing a joint statement

Cobwobs · 30/10/2023 11:13

They're probably devastated, I don't think they owe anyone a statement at this stage

Hobnobswantshernameback · 30/10/2023 11:14

Their friend died
Maybe they have more on their minds right now.
and this impacts you how exactly?

BirthdayFlower · 30/10/2023 11:14

Honestly, the closer someone is to the deceased the less I'd expect them to immediately get on social media. They will be grieving and in shock.

GonnaNeedABiggerBag · 30/10/2023 11:14

Aside from the expected joint statement, I expect they are devastated and are taking solace together. I applaud their social media silence, it’s dignified and feels appropriate.

x2boys · 30/10/2023 11:16

They were all very close I'm sure they are devastated by his passing.

Sirzy · 30/10/2023 11:16

Maybe pleasing the public isn’t top of their list under 24 hours from a friends death.

FuckingHellAdele · 30/10/2023 11:17

Why do you find it strange?

TheDandyLion · 30/10/2023 11:18

They owe the world no statements. Their friend just died. Leave them the fuck alone.

SkaneTos · 30/10/2023 11:18

They are probably really really really sad and upset.

TeaKitten · 30/10/2023 11:18

It happened yesterday, and they new him and his friends and family in real life. Real life exists outside of social media. No doubt they will post something in time but give them a break, their job isn’t to immediately gush to social media about their friends death.

SisterWedge · 30/10/2023 11:18

Good for them.

35965a · 30/10/2023 11:18

They don’t owe anyone a statement.

TheFlis · 30/10/2023 11:18

Social media would be the last thing I would be worrying about if one of my closest friends died suddenly.

ianthes · 30/10/2023 11:18

Bloody hell.

Is Instagram the true measure of grief nowadays?!

Seriously one their closest friends/colleagues just tragically passed away unexpectedly and you're disappointed they haven't given a public display of devastation??! M
Give me strength.

thebellagio · 30/10/2023 11:19

I feel really uncomfortable about the way that the public feel "entitled" to hear what someone thinks about their friends death, and criticising them for not speaking out "quickly" enough.

Just because we know their names and recognise their faces doesn't mean that we know them.

We aren't owed a statement by any means. And anyone who believes that they should know what a stranger feels about another strangers' death needs to take a look at themselves.

I personally hope that the cast are getting together and talking to each other and supporting each other with their memories of their friend.

This. The lack of statement so far speaks to their feeling for MP.

spitefulandbadgrammar · 30/10/2023 11:19

Matthew Perry talked about fame actually being a curse and this is one of the reasons why. Their friend and colleague, one of the few people in their group who shared a unique, formative experience with them, has died. But you want them to perform grief on an ailing social media app. Why?!

Russoooooo · 30/10/2023 11:19

Bloody hell. Their actual friend died less than 48 hours ago. Give them space to think/mourn/feel.

redfacebigdisgrace · 30/10/2023 11:20

I think it says more about your social media habits that you find it strange.

Those poor people, they must be devastated. Not everyone lives their life out on social media.

littleburn · 30/10/2023 11:21

Maybe they're grieving rather than worrying about Insta likes right now?

Hobnobswantshernameback · 30/10/2023 11:22

Sometimes I think people can't become more shallow or self absorbed
And then someone comes along and proves me wrong

Kate9423 · 30/10/2023 11:22

What a weird post to make

LeonBlack · 30/10/2023 11:22

Good for them. Far more dignified and appropriate than jumping straight onto Instagram as so many have done.

WhereDoYouGo1 · 30/10/2023 11:22

I noticed that and was wondering why. Lots of other famous people who knew him commented straight away.
