My daughter is 3. Possible infection. She's had a seizure and I'm waiting for an ambulance but I feel so so scared and so so alone. Please

get an Uber!!!! now

sugaryouth1 · 26/10/2023 20:13

@MaggieFS I did mention getting an uber but because she's been sick he said to keep her in the recovery position until ambulance gets here but my baby isn't responding and doing nothing goes against every parental instinct I have

sugaryouth1 · 26/10/2023 20:14

I'm scooping and booking an uber

trust your instinct as her Mummy

111 work to a script!

MaggieFS · 26/10/2023 20:15

It really, really does.

DiabeticFirstBaby · 26/10/2023 20:15

Absolutely get a taxi now! Just keep her lying on her side as you carry her etc. she needs to be seen asap!

1992H · 26/10/2023 20:16

Fingers crossed for you and your little girl, I hope she is okay and you are safe with care soon.
ps-Don’t forget to cancel the ambulance once you are in the Uber ❤️

brokenbitbybit · 26/10/2023 20:17

This can't be right? An unconscious 3 year old post seizure and you're still waiting?? This is negligent, what area is this ? @sugaryouth1 I'm so sorry you and your baby are going through this

Towelin · 26/10/2023 20:17

Yep, get an uber.

Hope you're on your way and she is seen soon.

sugaryouth1 · 26/10/2023 20:18

@brokenbitbybit we are in West Yorkshire. Uber is 6 minutes away.

OP posts:
Beckafett · 26/10/2023 20:18

Seen you are getting in a Uber. I would do exactly the same. Sending positive vibes your way.

FannyFifer · 26/10/2023 20:18

Ok, the risk now is that ambulance is nearly here, so it's an hour since you last rang.
Phone again, 3 year old child unresponsive to any stimuli, voice, touch, pain?
Over 2 hours since seizure.
Temp of 39+
Is she floppy if you try move her a wee bit?
Ask them an ETA on ambulance, say you thinking about a taxi.
Thinking about you both.

MadeForThis · 26/10/2023 20:18

I would get an Uber. Keep talking to her and stay calm. She can hear your voice.

Keep body contact with her. Hold her close and stroke her hair.

sugaryouth1 · 26/10/2023 20:19

She's floppy. When I lift her she's floppy. Taxi 4 minutes away. No sign of ambulance. Will ring 999 when in uber

Oh my goodness . This country is ridiculous. Let us know how she is op.
This terrible.

FannyFifer · 26/10/2023 20:19

Ok thank god, Uber coming. Grab your phone, charger, water a few bits u can grab quickly,

determinedtomakethiswork · 26/10/2023 20:20

This is so awful. Whereabouts are you in the country?

BigHoops · 26/10/2023 20:20

That's awful OP. I'm so sorry you're experiencing this. Hope the uber gets you there fast and safely. I'd have done the same thing. Terrifying that response time for an unconscious three year old is so slow. Thinking of you both.

sugaryouth1 · 26/10/2023 20:20

I've got her Teddy comforter, phone charger and my purse, grabbed her blankie. Everything else is secondary. I'll update at hospital

OP posts:
FannyFifer · 26/10/2023 20:20

You are doing amazing for your wee girl.

mumofthree2b · 26/10/2023 20:20

This is awful, how scary OP, I really hope she recovers soon, I would 100% do the same and book an Uber. If that's what you have done, make sure she gets seen straight away, no more being made to wait xx

lemonsaretheonlyfruit · 26/10/2023 20:20

I would have done exactly the same OP. Very best of luck at the hospital x

BigHoops · 26/10/2023 20:20

OP says she's in West Yorkshire.
